The Archangel of Death - Chapter 259
259: Harder life?
259: Harder life?
Chapter 258 “Whoa, dope gig, dude.” A dark-skinned man followed by some others entered Andrew’s office and when he saw them, all color disappeared from his face.
“Chris.
What are you doing here?” Andrew asked, worried about them running into a certain person.
“What?
Can’t a bro check his bro out?” Chris said while the rest behind him nodded.
A girl in that group came up to Andrew and said, “And you look good boy.
Did you find a rich mommy overnight?” She touched his suit while clinging to him.
Outside Andrew’s office, from the glass windows, everyone could see what was going on inside.
They were gathering and whispering among each other and that didn’t spell well for Andrew.
“Look,” Andrew said while he put the hands of the girls off of him and continued, “You guys need to leave, right now.
I will come by later.” “Oh come on man, bring us some of that high sh*t tea.” Chris, not wanting to leave made himself at home on the couch while the girl clung back to Andrew.
“No, you need to leave, now,” Andrew said, his body becoming tense over the pressure he had to face from everyone’s stares on the outside.
He had just made his place there; he couldn’t have it gone on the second day.
“What you throwing out a brother for?
I said I ain’t leaving until you share some of this dope sh*t with us.” Chris said.
Seeing no other choice, Andrew pulled out his wallet, pulled a couple of bills of hundreds out, and said, “Here, you can take them.
Now leave.” “That’s pretty sweet of you,” Chris said but then added, “But that might not be enough for all of us.” The girl who was clinging to Andrew took his wallet with a smile.
Andrew didn’t resist that or say anything.
He just wanted them out of there before Gabriel saw them.
“Sir, is everything all right?” The girl from earlier came to the office to make sure because a crowd was gathering outside and she needed to make sure she didn’t need to call security.
“It’s fine, Julie,” Andrew hurriedly said before he asked her to leave, “Why don’t you leave us?” “Why don’t you don’t?” Chris hurriedly stood up and made her way to Julie.
“No!” Andrew threw the girl clinging to him to his side and made his way to Chris and before Chris could reach for Julie, Andrew caught his hand roughly.
“What the sh*t, man!?” Chris obviously didn’t like to be in pain as he said, “Let the hell go.” “You need to leave, Chris.” Andrew said but Chris wasn’t willing to as he said, “Why should I, huh?
And what’s with you?
Is she your sister or something?” Andrew opened his mouth to tell Chris off one more time when someone grabbed Chris by his neck and before anyone could tell what was going on, Chris was on his way down the building after being thrown out the window, which by the way broke as well, by the person who grabbed him like a piece of lifeless doll.
“Gabe!” Andrew burst into lightning and disappeared from his spot.
The next moment he appeared in the office again, he was holding Chris who was still screaming in his hands.
“Real smooth, bro,” Gabriel said before he waved his hand and everyone who saw that fell on the floor, unconscious.
“Gabe, what are you doing?” Andrew asked, angered by Gabriel’s actions.
“What am I doing?
What are you doing?
Letting these people come up like that?” Gabriel asked.
“No, I didn’t.
I…” Andrew had no answer for that.
It was true that he didn’t allow Chris and his party up the building from the lobby and he also didn’t know what was going on.
“What you didn’t call them?” Gabriel asked, skeptical about Andrew’s answer.
“No,” Andrew replied.
“Then how the hell did they get past the security?” Gabriel asked.
“I don’t know!” Andrew replied.
Gabriel stopped.
Andrew wasn’t lying.
Yet still, somehow these guys made it up.
The question was how?
A building that had as much security to rival the security of the UN panel, yet these crooks who weren’t even washed properly made it up the building.
How?
Gabriel waved his hand and everyone disappeared from their places, transferred to their respective positions, their minds altered for the last few minutes.
As for the little group that was with Andrew, Gabriel said, “Either you throw them out, or I will.” Andrew nodded and burst into lightning, taking Chris and the party with him.
He appeared after a few seconds, alone and the expression on his face was full of remorse.
He didn’t look up nor did he look at Gabriel.
“I told you to get rid of those guys before, didn’t I?” Gabriel asked before he said, “And now look what happened.
You think Dad’s gonna like any of this?” “I know.
I know how bad this looks but what am I supposed to do, huh?
What am I supposed to do?!” Andrew yelled in response.
“Get rid of them!” Gabriel gave a simple solution.
“Is that all there is that goes in your head?
Killing?
I can’t just kill them because they’re my friends!” Andrew said in response.
“They’re not your friends,” Gabriel said.
“They were there for me when I didn’t have anyone else!
When you were sitting in your high-class building, building your business under Dad’s guidance, it was me who was out there suffering on the streets, and to help me survive, they were there for me!” Andrew also yelled.
“What high-class building?!
You think locked up in a facility, trained by people who turn you inside out is a lavish life?!
What guidance?
All the guidance I received was a beating to every part of my body, breaking every part of my body under the guise of training.
And I didn’t have friends then and I sure as hell don’t have any now but haven’t I survived?!” “Why couldn’t you?!
All you had to do was just go to the top dog and gouge his eyes out?!
You had the power to do it then why didn’t you?!” Gabriel yelled and yelled, frustrated that his brother didn’t see the point.
“Because I’m not a killer!” Andrew yelled in return.
“You’re a smith!
Of course, you’re a killer!” Gabriel said.
“Yeah?!
Well, no one else seems to think that?!” Andrew said.
“And that matters to you?!
What I do for you doesn’t matter?!
I stand up for you, I always have.
I am there for you, not them!” Gabriel finally couldn’t take it anymore and said, “By god, if I see them here again, even Dad wouldn’t be able to stop me from killing them in a way impossible by human imagination.” With that, Gabriel walked out the door while he yelled some profanities that could still be heard.
As for Andrew, he couldn’t help but slump back in his chair.
“Amazing, isn’t it?” Andrew heard which startled him and he hurriedly turned to look at the black-haired man in a black suit calmly sitting on the couch of his office with a coffee cup in his hands.
“You heard?” Andrew worriedly asked.
“Oh, better.
I had front-row tickets to the show.” Andrew’s father said.
“Then do you also agree?” Andrew asked.
“Agree with what?” The man asked.
“With Gabriel?
That he had a harder life than me.” Andrew said.
The man laughed.
He smiled and said, “I didn’t introduce equal harshness to both of you.
I put him through a test that was the hardest for him and you through a life that was hardest for you.” “But his hardest and mine aren’t equal, are they?” Andrew asked.
“Nowhere close.” The man said.
“You think I wouldn’t have been able to endure it?” Andrew asked.
“I don’t think.
I know.
The pain I put Gabriel through, if you had been put through it, you wouldn’t survive the morning.” The man replied.
“So you admit he is better than me?” Andrew asked.
“I never said that.
A thing about father; he never, ever discriminates between his children.” The man said before he stood up and left while he said, “One day you might know the feeling.” “Is what he said was true?” Andrew asked when the man was just about to disappear.
“That we’re all killers?” The man asked.
“Yes,” Andrew replied.
“…” The man waited for a moment before he replied, “Yes.
We all are.
We kill something.
And not every time it has to be a life.” “It doesn’t have to be, ever.
Killing is not the answer.” Andrew said.
“Well, too late for that I guess.” The man said.
“What do you mean?” Andrew asked.
“Where do you think he is right now?” The man asked.
The expression on Andrew’s face was quick to change when he understood what the man said.
At the same time… Boom!!
Boom!!!
Boom!!!!
Simultaneous explosions shook the New York City.
“Well, someone’s not in a good mood.” The man said before he disappeared, leaving Andrew shocked to the core because he knew where those explosions were coming from.
Zap!!
Lightning crackled and Andrew was not in his spot the next moment.
