The Archangel of Death - Chapter 250
250: Monstrous talent (Bonus: G.T) 250: Monstrous talent (Bonus: G.T) Chapter 250 Rose shied and looked away as I stared at her intensely.
As expected, Rose came out of her breakthrough in just two days and four hours.
As much as I would have loved to celebrate, I couldn’t help but figure out about her limits first.
Where do they lie?
Are they even there in the first place?
After all, I was looking at the youngest S rank in history.
And the amount of treasures she took was half of half than what Max took.
“Is… Is there something you like?” Rose asked with an incredible blush on her face.
I could tell she was new to this and she was mustering up all of her courage to ask that even though she didn’t specify anything.
However, as much as that blush would have charmed me, I was still wondering about her limits.
Maybe it wasn’t too far-fetched to teach her my authority.
Of course, I hadn’t unlocked it yet due to the system but I still knew the theory better than anyone, even better than the creator of the techniques himself.
“Stand up,” I said.
She did so, hurriedly, and I followed.
Once we were both standing I raised my hand and started moving.
I raised one arm above my head at the forty-five-degree angle and straightened my fingers.
Then I touched the tip of those fingers with my other hand, brought that hand down the arm, down the shoulder to the middle of my chest before I brought it to a similar position as my left hand.
Rose looked at me intriguingly, not strangely.
I figured that was because she trusted me.
Anyway, I then asked, “Do the same but move the lightning mana inside of you as well.” She nodded and followed my instructions.
As soon as she did, something happened to her and she coughed up blood.
[Breath of Life] I healed her instantly before the damage could spread.
She stood up, after a moment of rest, and looked at me.
“The problem with lightning is that it is too predictable.
It’s linear after all.
It can go in a straight line at most.” I began my explanation.
“However, it can be smoothened out.
If you imagine your lightning to be water, not lightning, and follow these movements to make it smoother and gentle, it will flow as you will it to.
Do you understand?” I explained the theory behind it and asked.
She nodded after a few minutes when she digested the information and asked, “What would happen if it became smoother?” I smiled and replied, “You will truly become unpredictable.”It wasn’t easy dealing with lightning.
The most destructive element from the family of fire elements.
However, lightning was predictable because there was no such thing as zig-zag lightning.
Following that, a truly intelligent enemy would be able to follow Rose’s movements.
Just like how I could even though she momentarily turned into lightning, I could still get her.
So to help her with that, we needed to smoothen the nature of lightning itself.
Add in the movements of water.
The gentle movements of water were truly what made it so flexible.
If Rose could somehow replicate that gentleness, it would be a feat more amazing than any other.
Even the creator of that technique couldn’t do that.
Master only taught me how to predict where lightning would fall.
It was me who was able to do this and make it unpredictable.
But when I offered to teach it to my master, he refused, saying that he passed it to me and I perfected it.
What I had to do was teach it to those who I take in.
Alas, no one could.
Well, Alex could to a certain extent but even he couldn’t fully become fluid lightning.
But Rose, a talent beyond that, truly made me wonder what she could do.
************** Three days later.
[That’s…] […Wow] Even Allison was speechless.
So it made sense that I was as well.
It was perfect.
Her movements weren’t fluid like water.
I had to heal her every few seconds for the three days but still, she never gave up and the result of that was that she could replicate the movements to some extent.
Let’s say if we compare it to the percentage with 100% being fully perfected, then her progress would be at 7 to 8%.
It may not sound much, but it took me more than two thousand years to just perfect the theory of that technique.
Perfecting the technique itself took thrice.
Of course, if I had been taught just like how I taught her, the result would have been different but even still, the speed she was going at wouldn’t have been much different than my speed.
A grin spread across my face.
[Exciting, isn’t it?] ‘Yes.
I want to teach her more.’ I said in reply.
What if I was to teach her the concept of life itself?
How would she do then?
I couldn’t help but tremble at the possibility.
No one and I say that again, no one in my life and the lives I lived in the fragments had ever been able to even understand the theory about the element of life and death.
To Dad, it was like his nature because he was death himself.
Me, I was born with it so I knew very well about it as well.
But I researched the element of life for millions of years and then took a similar time to perfect it.
But if I could teach that fully perfected theory to her, what would be her progress rate?
[Calm down for now] Listening to Allison’s advice, I calmed my beating heart.
She was right.
For now, Rose was training in lightning.
Let’s first take her to the pinnacle of lightning first.
Maybe then we can move on to the other elements.
*************** It had been two weeks since others went into their breakthroughs.
However, none had finished with it yet.
I was tempted to use some treasures found in that world to speed up their breakthrough.
But I wanted to use them when they truly needed it.
Especially the less talented ones.
Max and Laura’s talent was a problem.
The amount of potions and crystals, everything I had to spend on them was far more than others.
With that in mind, I was hoping to save everything when they truly needed it.
For now, it was bearable.
But not just those, the others were also still going on, with no end in sight.
Sirius was mad, quite mad seeing that so many students of the class were absent at once.
He was skeptical when I told him that they were breaking through and he asked me, ‘All at once?
Do you take me for a fool?’ Well, he was quick to change that view when he saw it for himself but what he was more surprised was about their rank.
They weren’t going from D to C like most first years.
Nope.
They were going from B to A, something even the most talented ones of the second years cannot do.
He looked at me suspiciously and shook his head before he nodded like an idiot.
I guess he was reaching his age of going senile.
But he was even more dumbfounded when he saw Rose’s rank.
It wasn’t B or A, no, it went beyond his expectations.
It was straight-up S.
He held my hands tightly and asked, “Can you teach the rest of the students too?” Of course, I refused.
He whined like a six-year-old and nagged me for days, but in the end, he calmed down after I gave him the potions needed for the raid of the ‘Dungeon of Diamonds’.
He was a little bummed about it but he took the potions and left.
As for me, it was also a pity that I couldn’t raid the ‘Dungeon of Diamonds’.
If I could get my hands on some SSS rank monsters, my level would skyrocket.
Alas, the time for that overlapped with the first year’s last test.
I still didn’t know why I was here.
There must be a reason for my presence but no matter how much I thought about it, no answer came in sight.
In the end, I had to join the test despite my wish to go to the ‘Dungeon of Diamonds’.
It was the only SSS rank dungeon and it only opened once every five years.
Although in the future there would be S and SS rank dungeons, there would be no SSS rank dungeons so this one was a golden chance but I had no other choice but to blow it.
Anyway, all of that was for later.
Everything was for later.
For now, I needed to figure out how to train these guys, and other than that… “What the hell should I do with this unbelievable monster?” [Your party member Rose Roosevelt is now level 317] [Assimilation with the element of thunder at 87%] ‘What the hell…’ CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
