248: Life of boredom 248: Life of boredom Chapter 248 Three days passed and the mana inside the room clashed.

Six different types of mana were being emitted from the six different types of people in the room.

From Laura, a smooth mana that gave me a sense of desire was emitting.

A general power of darkness.

Bewitchment.

From Sophien, something similar but also different was emitting.

Her mana was creepy rather than enticing.

A clear sign of shadows that creep people out.

From Alicia, something serene and calm.

Although light can be pretty violent, its basic characteristic is always calming.

Asmara emitted a fierce and sharp mana.

Fierce just like her personality and sharp just like her sword execution.

Max’s mana was sturdy, like a wall.

Seeing as he was a defensive player, it made sense.

Finally, last but not least, the strongest mana in the room.

A type of mana that was so erratic that even gave me chills.

Not literal chills but chills of wariness.

I gotta watch out for this one.

Rose emitted a mana that was more erratic than any other.

Stronger than any other.

Swift than any other.

Purer than any other.

I didn’t have much expertise about mana, but even I could tell that there was no other mana better than this one.

Even Eric’s might not be like that.

Another testament to Rose’s talent.

A talent that far surpassed any other talent I had ever seen.

[You?] Not counting me.

If we don’t count me, then no other person that I know, no one, even my father, had that kind of talent.

At first, I thought she was one step above Alex, but I was wrong.

She was ten times more talented than Alex and that guy was the definition of prodigal talent.

But Rose, well, she crossed all limits I had ever seen.

It had only been two days yet it looked like she was close to being finished.

A good point to keep in mind was that Eric took two months to go from A rank to S rank.

Yet Rose looked like she was about to be done in just two days.

If that wasn’t terrifying, I didn’t know what was.

With that all out of the way, I didn’t really expect any of them to break through in a week.

Well, Rose was close to but other than her, no one else was even close to being done.

In fact, they had just started.

With that also out of the way, the most urgent matter of my life was going on right now.

I was bored.

I just figured out I had nothing to do.

My skills were, well, massive, and practicing them would be nearly useless.

Assimilation with the elements or increasing my life and death strands would be faster.

My level restriction was removed but there weren’t many S rank dungeons lying around.

I asked Sirius for one but he said that it was recently cleared and the boss was killed in the raid.

It would take at least six months before the boss would respawn.

Not to mention he didn’t treasure me enough to just hand over an S rank dungeon.

No one was after me and there was no task pending from my end.

I had one joy of beating the cr*p out of these guys but they were busy as well.

‘Life without a plot… is really boring, isn’t it?’ [Yes] [The exciting life of protagonists] [Too bad you’re not blessed by that] I nodded at Allison’s sarcasm but didn’t reply.

Instead, I just bought a sleeping bag from the shop and entered the sweet realm of deep sleep.

******************* While Adrian slept, plagued by a life of boredom, the rest of the world didn’t.

Especially those who had plans of their own.

Alastair walked through the corridors of the demon king’s palace and arrived in front of a giant and luxurious room.

The guards standing outside attempted to stop him but when he gave them a glaring stare, they backed off out of fear.

Sure, they didn’t serve him.

But that didn’t mean that Alastair couldn’t make their life a living hell.

Alastair opened the door and entered.

Upon entering, he was assaulted by a nauseating feeling as always.

Just like entering a gate but many times worse.

Upon entering, he saw three people in the giant room.

One of them was his own father while the two others were people he was familiar with, but he didn’t care for them much.

Well, not that he cared for his father but at least he was his own blood so he had to at least pretend.

“What is he doing here?!” Julianna asked with anger seething in her words and especially her face that wasn’t as beautiful as before given the burnt mark on it.

“Yes.

He shouldn’t be here.” The other person, a dwarf spoke, who was also injured very badly as if burned.

“What did I do?

It was you people who chose to ignore my warnings.” Alastair replied with a smug look on his face as if he was gloating.

“Enough,” Astaroth said in a low voice before he turned to look at Alastair, his face also burnt.

His burnt scars on his body were hidden by his clothes but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt any less.

“Leave, Alastair,” Astaroth said, no previous authority in his voice when he addressed Alastair.

Alastair sighed and said, “What a pathetic sight.” His words invoked terrible anger in Julianna and the dwarf but Alastair said before any of them could react.

“Fine.

I shall leave.

I was here to mock you anyway and I have accomplished that.” Alastair turned around and walked out.

Once he was gone, Julianna looked at Astaroth and asked, “Are you really going to let him treat us like that?” Astaroth looked at Julianna before he said in a defeated tone, “We should have listened to him.” Julianna didn’t say anything to that.

Nor did the dwarf.

Their anger diminished a lot as well.

Had they listened to Alastair, they wouldn’t be in that condition.

Burnt scars that couldn’t be treated with any kind of magic.

Not even the blessing from the apostle, the holder of the divine power could heal those scars.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

They were constantly in pain due to those scars and it wasn’t bearable pain.

It was excruciating pain and the only reason they weren’t screaming right now was precisely because they were too strong.

Had they been any weaker, they would have given in to pain right now.

Unfortunately, one of them, the one who was closest to the blast was injured the most and had yet to regain consciousness.

Dàghar was seriously injured by the blast and even his vampire regenerative abilities couldn’t heal that damage.

He was yet to gain consciousness and due to that, the vampire race was staying out of the untied race meetings at the moment.

Not just them, even the gnomes, dark elves, and merfolk were also not attending the meetings due to pain.

Turned out, they weren’t as resilient as the other races.

Julianna had the blessing of the world’s tree through Natasha every time she would attend a meeting.

Dwarves were inherently resilient given where their talents lie.

As for the demons, well, Alastair was able to protect Astaroth to some extent but not all of it.

As for Alastair, for some reason, he wasn’t injured at all.

Maybe that reason had more to contribute to the irritation of Julianna and the dwarf at the moment.
