247: Break through 247: Break through Chapter 247 Asmara closed her eyes as her body trembled when she saw the scene in front of her.

Mangled corpses, well, almost corpses, were lying on the floor with blood gushing out of their several orifices.

Their faces disfigured and the shape of their bodies defied their natural orders.

Combined, it was a gruesome scene and no sane human could have been able to endure such a scene let alone live it.

Yet, Rose still stood up.

With one of her arms out of commission and flailing to the side, she got into a proper stance.

Not just her, Max also stood up and held up his arms which were badly bleeding in front of his face.

As for Sophien, Laura, and Alicia, although a lot worse than the other two, they were also showing signs of standing up.

One week.

It had been one week since all of it began.

In that one week, all Asmara did was swing that sword.

If she were to get it wrong even once, she would have to start over.

Not just that, if she couldn’t do it by the end of the day, she would have to do it again after a brief sleep of two hours.

Her arms hurt, her entire body hurt.

But she endured it.

She endured it all.

No.

She was even thankful.

Thankful to the fact that it wasn’t her in the place of the others.

Glad that she was just swinging a sword even though her body was being ripped apart from pain but she knew it was nothing compared to what the others were going through.

Although the training was harsh, after the first day, no one complained.

No one said a word of complaint and did what they were told.

After that first day, they were all in it in full swing.

But still, the monster couldn’t be defeated.

He couldn’t even be touched.

None of the opponents had been able to even touch Adrian.

It was he who was doing the touching and a lot more.

But the fact that even after a week, Adrian wasn’t even struck by even one of them, would have been enough of a reason to quit but that wasn’t the case for any of them.

On the contrary, they were raring to go at it.

[Breath of Life x5] A skill that brought almost dead back to life.

Expensive potions to restore mana and stamina.

Crystals which increased one’s physical attributes and many more treasures.

Without hesitation, such expensive treasures were being used on all of them, including Asmara.

No other family, none other would have been able to cough up that amount even for their own child.

Yet such treasures were being practically wasted away on people that didn’t make any sense.

Max was talentless.

Even with expensive treasures, he showed very little progress.

Laura and Sophien didn’t belong to the empire.

Hence their loyalties didn’t lie with them as well.

Yet they weren’t treated any differently.

It made sense in terms of Asmara, Alicia, and Rose, but when looked at it from a different point of view, why would someone waste such precious treasures on someone who’s not your family?

The training continued.

Beaten, bruised, bleeding, broken and mangled.

They all lay on the floor while panting heavily as if they had been thirsty for years.

Adrian, finally after a week, took off his mask.

Underneath, a face full of a beaming smile appeared.

He looked at everyone, including Asmara, and said, “You’ve all come far, huh?” ******************** [Your party member Rose Roosevelt is now level 299] [Your party member Laura Ravenknight is now level 249] [Your party member Alicia mon Grante is now level 249] [Your party member Sophien Vermillion is now level 249] [Your party member Max is now level 249] [Your party member Asmara Hayez is now level 249] With the heavy armor they were wearing and the constant beating with no difference, they might not have realized it but they grew stronger every day.

Of course, the number of potions, items, and treasures I used in the process cost me my entire revenue in shop coins, but the result was more than satisfactory.

Too much even.

Rose reached the limit of A rank without even a breakthrough at the B rank limit.

And I had to spend the least amount of treasures on her.

The monster grew stronger without them.

As for the rest, they reached the peak of B rank.

I had to spend most on Asmara and Max, Max taking the most, but the result was amazing in that sense as well.

And all of this in just one week.

Alas, their breakthroughs got in the way.

I was lucky in the case of Rose who didn’t need to break through to A rank but even her level had stopped increasing now.

She required mana as well so I decided to give her some A rank mana crystals.

And for the rest as well, I showed no stinginess.

After all, all of it was useless to me.

Mana crystals, mana treasures, everything in my inventory almost required mana and since I didn’t have it, might as well give them to those who do have it.

Still, even then they surpassed my expectations.

I expected all of them, except for Rose and Max, to whine and probably quit but they all stayed even after almost dying.

Well, of course, I wasn’t just going to let them die.

I used [Soul entrapment] on each of them.

I just used [Breath of Life] before any of them noticed that they were immortals.

Anyway, it was a bummer that we had to stop due to their breakthroughs but I will be kind enough to let them have a break.

“Stand up and get in line.” I said before I turned to Asmara and said, “You too.” In their heavy armor, they lined up in front of me and I slowly examined them with my eyes while I walked in front of them like a military officer.

“With great pleasure, I say that I am pleased by each and every one of you.” I began before I signaled them to take off the heavy armor.

They followed my signal and I continued, “In just a week, you have come far enough to be called ‘not weaklings’.” My words didn’t sit well with everyone but none of them said a word in return.

“I am so proud of all of you and so pleased by the hard work you put in that I am tempted to reward you all generously.” Saying so, I waved my hand a mountain of mana crystals, ranging from B- to A+ rank materialized in front of them all.

Their eyes shined as they saw all the mana crystals they might not see ever all at once.

“You all have a week.

Breakthrough your limits in that time frame.” I said and only now, did they all take a look at their status windows.

As soon as they did, all of their eyes went wide.

“Be proud.

That is the result of your hard work.” I said, bringing them out of their moment of surprise and joy.

After all, we weren’t done yet.

“Now.

Take a week to break through to the next rank.

And then, we will continue our training.” As soon as I said that, Laura put a hand in front of her mouth as if she felt nauseated by the word.

She wasn’t alone, Alicia and Sophien also looked like they were going to be sick and Max wasn’t doing very well as well.

As for Rose, her eyes sparkled at the word.

Good.

I nodded my head with a smile.

“Aren’t we done?” Laura hesitantly asked.

I looked at her with a confused expression before I asked, “Do you feel that you can defeat a divine rank blessed?

Or do you feel no one in this world can now stop you?” At my questions, Laura remained quiet.

They all remained silent.

Seeing no answer come out of them, I continued, “Until you become so strong that all the guardian-ranked beings in this world cannot defeat you even if they came at you all at once, you are all weak.” I didn’t know why they were so lax about this.

If I were them, I would have conquered the world by now and ended all the problems in this world.

And unlike me, they didn’t even have the level limit.

I would barely be able to reach level 500 but these guys had the potential to go beyond that.

600 or even 700.

If they put in enough effort, they could become stronger than the Supremes.

Then why the hell would they even question why they were being subjected to such training?

It seemed like I needed to up their training by one level.

“Breakthrough to the next rank in a week.

Then we begin for real.” I simply said before I signaled them to take the mana crystals and get to work.

They grumbled but still did what I asked them to do.
