The Archangel of Death - Chapter 237
237: Mission complete 237: Mission complete Chapter 237 As we made our way through the basement of the mansion and killed soldiers to get through, Asmara’s movements were shocking.
She was good and I knew that but not that much.
It was amazing how she could get used to the effects of the [Angel’s blessing] so soon.
Usually, a human body takes time to get used to such an increase in strength but Asmara didn’t take even a half minute.
She was kicking as soon as she felt the effects and took that first step towards our next target.
But, in no way was that going to be enough.
Soon enough, it would be very difficult to make it out of this city because the barrier was still up.
For some reason though, the guard house through which we came through the first time wasn’t covered by that barrier so entering the city was still possible.
Still, it took seven days to get people out that way and now with no soul in the city, soldiers would definitely figure out where that place would be.
Before that happened, we needed to get rid of all the rations and get out of the city.
“There they are!” However, that wasn’t possible with hundreds of guards following after us.
[Eternal night] Eternal night.
A skill I was using for the first time since my first assimilation with death, my only assimilation with death so far.
The reason I hadn’t used this skill was because of the effects of the skill.
This skill, like every other death branch skill was overpowered but it came with a high price.
[Eternal night] [Rank: SSS] [Description: Ruler of the eternal night.
A title that was given to the creatures who are strong under the power of the dark.
No light shall enter the vicinity of the ruler of the eternal night.
You are eternal and you will always be so and the only way to do that is through the darkness.
Engulf yourself and everything around you in darkness and be eternal] [Effect: For ten minutes, become impervious to all kinds of damage] [Caution: While the skill is activated, everyone in the vicinity, whether foe or friend, would constantly lose their health] [Cost: 2000 MP] For just 2000 MP, it was an amazing skill.
However, that price was substituted for the life of others.
And right now, next to me was Asmara who would be constantly losing her vitality as time passed.
[Breath of life has been used on Asmara Hayez] I picked her up when she almost fell due to sluggishness.
I constantly kept using the [Breath of Life] on her as she kept losing her health.
However, all the others did as well.
Those hundreds of soldiers, or anyone else in my 20-meter radius lost their health and fell on the ground.
Those unlucky ones who couldn’t escape the range of my skill also died.
In other words, this skill had two effects.
Not only did it make me immortal, but it also killed those around me.
Lovely skill and I would have very much liked to have it in the Lycan dungeon.
There would have been no need to run away.
Those stupid mutts would have killed themselves while trying to take a piece of me that couldn’t be taken at all.
Luckily, in just three minutes, we arrived at the pantry that was in the basement of the castle with proper preservation magic cast around the room.
I stored everything in the inventory while using an MP recovery potion because I was running out of MP using the skill [Breath of Life] on Asmara.
I needed to cast it every ten seconds, that was how rapidly she was losing her health.
After that, I didn’t wait for a second and bolted out of the place with at my full speed.
Boom!!!
I heard something blow up behind me.
Well, technically it was someone ramming through everything in his way.
Yep.
I turned to see a tin can running at me at an intimidating speed.
The good news; the skill still had three minutes left.
Bad news, he was able to resist the skill and just briefly came very close to me.
[Fly has been activated] [MP -100] I was hesitating to use this because I had to use every bit of MP on Asmara but that would amount to nothing if we were caught here.
[Eternal Night] had no cancelation.
It couldn’t be canceled unless it ended on its own.
So I couldn’t opt for that.
As we flew in the sky, I saw the knight still following me on the ground.
Still, my speed was faster due to no obstacles and I arrived at the guardhouse just before the skill ended.
I could still sense him coming here at a distance which meant that this place was as good as discovered and blown.
But, there was no need for this place anymore.
I bolted through the door and broke through the house itself.
As I came from the other side, the skill had ended but Asmara was still in a very bad condition.
I used the [Breath of Life] on her and used [Fly] once again as I consumed my fifteenth MP recovery potion to restore my depleted MP once again.
Now in the open grounds and all my concentration on [Fly], I didn’t need to worry about the consumption and poured half of my MP in the skill, flying at a speed even an SSS rank wouldn’t be able to catch up easily.
**************** I gently landed on the ground near the dungeon where we had been a few days ago.
I laid Asmara down on the ground after putting a sleeping bag there.
Once she was in there, I sat near her and set up some fire.
With our physical stats, we didn’t need fire to keep us warm since cold didn’t bother us that much.
It was just to set up the mood.
Just in case something special happened.
[She’s a minor, you know] ‘Wow.
You sure have a dirty mind.’ I was just talking about something special to cook on the fire.
[You don’t even believe yourself, do you?] ‘No, I don’t.’ I replied before I also lay down and just gazed up at the sky.
It had been a long time since I had done that.
Just looking at the sky and the stars.
A lot of new information was bombarded on me recently and some of it was very confusing.
I just hoped that some of my assumptions were correct as well.
[Such as this world not being Tanaeria] ‘Yes.’ That place had nothing but bad memories for me but it was okay.
I knew for sure that this wasn’t Tanaeria.
In a way, I was the founder of Tanaeria.
My very own first fragment.
If this had been Tanaeria, I would have known instantly but since I felt nothing like that from this place, then I was sure this world wasn’t my home as well.
[What sort of place was Tanaeria?] Nothing like any of the worlds my father made.
In Tanaeria, Werewolves didn’t need to worry about the full moon, Vampires didn’t need to worry about the sun.
Elves didn’t need to worry about the low fertility rate and demons weren’t consumed by darkness.
A place of peace.
Of course, crime and wars were there as well but they were solved under my law.
I was the sole ruler of that place for an unknown amount of time.
Well, until at least I showed why I was the unspoken ruler of that world.
In my anger, I cursed every race and even those humans who went after my family, the nation of angels.
But then I left.
That was all I could do.
The first time I left, I lost too much.
Both in Tanaeria and in my real world.
So I had to leave once again.
It was just too painful to stay there.
Even for one more second.
The time that I did remain in Tanaeria while wiping out most of the planet, I was in pain so much so that I just wanted to leave and never return.
And I never did.
Tanaeria was just left to live its own course just like all the other fragments without my father’s interference.
[And you never wanted to return as well?] There was nothing left to return to.
All that was there was pain.
I was human and I disliked pain.
So I avoided it by never going back there.
Well, another person had a great hand helping me through that.
Alex.
My last student and the most mature nine-year-old I ever encountered.
And that was me included.
“Ugh.” While I was reminiscing about my lonely yet adventurous life, I heard a groan from the sleeping beauty next to me.
Asmara had been pretty badly knocked out so I was sure it would take her entire night to recover but she was up in just an hour.
As I turned to her, she looked at me and just said two simple words to convey her anger, “You bastard.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
