The Archangel of Death - Chapter 228
228: The plan 228: The plan Chapter 228 “Ple…ase… Sav….e m…e…” A man said, submerged in the sewage water when a foot stepped on his head, crushing it completely.
A figure walked past the mangled bodies and made his way to another body, the body of a woman, who was breathing heavily because of her severely injured limbs.
However, she was a lot better than her bodyguards who were mutilated by the barrage of light orbs that fell on them like hail and destroyed every piece of their bodies.
“You lunatic,” She was injured but not so much that she couldn’t curse.
Unlike her subordinate, she didn’t ask for mercy from her assailant but cursed him.
His assailant smiled and sat down in front of her.
He looked at her and said in a jovial voice, “That I am~~~” “What did we… ever do to you?” The woman asked, in pain and afraid but she put on a strong front because that mattered.
“Nothing,” Adrian said.
“Then why?” The woman asked, dumbfounded by Adrian’s reply.
“Because of the dungeon beneath that fatso’s castle,” Adrian said.
The woman didn’t need to be told in elaboration what the issue was.
“I saw the documents.
That girl wasn’t to marry that fatso.
It was to fill up the quota of today’s delivery.” Adrian said and grabbed the woman’s finger.
The woman just stared at him, not saying a word because she knew it wouldn’t matter.
She and the Duke of the Moon Dusk City were in a business partnership.
The duke would procure young women who didn’t matter and she would sell them.
It was a profitable business and they made a killing from that.
She didn’t feel any guilt over it.
On the contrary, she was proud of her achievements, becoming who she was from the bottom.
Even more so when she was a woman in the man’s world.
Adrian could tell what she was thinking.
He felt wretched over that feeling but he did nothing.
He didn’t have the time to.
He needed to get on with his test as well.
He couldn’t just be the deliverer of justice all the time.
He wouldn’t mutilate this woman like he did with the duke.
He would just give her a painful but quick death.
After he obtained what he needed though.
“How do we get to the Wind Tempest City?” Adrian asked.
“Ever heard of the roads?” The woman asked.
Adrian smiled and ripped the finger he was holding on to, causing blood to spurt.
“AHHH!!!!” The woman screamed in pain but Adrian simply blocked her mouth and let the moment pass.
After a while, Adrian once again said, “How do we get there illegally?” The woman didn’t reply.
She just looked at him in hate.
Adrian stopped and waited for a few more minutes before he grabbed her middle finger and tore it from her hand as well.
After another bout of screams, the woman went quiet when the pain became bearable.
“If you’re going to kill me, just do it.” The woman said and then added, “But I’m not telling you anything.” “It is in human instinct to prolong their life.
Very few accept their death with open arms.
Humans want to live just a little longer, just two minutes, one minute, or even one second.
That one second never ends.” Adrian, instead of answering her, grabbed another one of her fingers.
“You will answer me because you’re a human.
You want to live.
You will do anything for that one more second.” Adrian said as he grabbed another finger and tore it off of her.
With only her thumb and pinky finger remaining, she wasn’t in a very good condition.
“The… the trade center.
The sewer has a passage that follows the trade center which then leads to the road.” The woman began to speak after a few minutes of intense pain.
“That road doesn’t exist on official channels.
At the end of that road, there will be a gate that leads to the guard house.
The captain of that guardhouse does business with me.
The password is ‘For the good of both sides’.
I can lead you the–” The woman continued her explanation but was interrupted when Adrian put his hands on her neck and twisted it.
The woman’s body limped on the ground, lifeless and her eyes full of horror and puzzlement.
Adrian smiled and stood up.
He turned to his two companions and said, “Shall we go now, ladies?” ****************** “I’m surprised you’re not disgusted by being in a sewer,” I commented as we navigated through the sewage passage, looking for the path that led to the road.
“This is nothing,” Asmara said.
As for Sasha, she was disgusted, but not as much.
For some reason, she seemed to be competing with Asmara.
I didn’t know what for but the strange combination of both of them was, how should I say it….
enticing.
[It turns you on] ‘Quite vulgar words for a lady.’ “So what now?” Asmara asked.
“For now we need to enter the city.
I have a plan.
It was a tactic employed in a war, very long ago.
I don’t know if it would work here or not but for now, it is our best bet.” The tactic I was talking about was not used in this world but in my original world.
The tactic the Vatican applied was to weaken the power of the king and the lord class.
The power of the common class.
It was the same thing here.
The people just needed one tiny spark to set them off and they would for sure blow up, taking the entire place with them.
And by the place I meant the Wind Tempest city.
Of course, I wasn’t going to let innocent people die even though it wouldn’t matter in the least.
Anyway, as the woman said, we arrived at the end of the sewer.
In front of us was a road, a road of mud.
Which made it a pathway, not a road but I couldn’t go back and educate her on the difference.
“How do you plan to enter?” One thing I loved about Asmara was that she always asked the right questions when it came to anything that had to do with battle and stuff.
Like right now.
Just because I knew the password, didn’t mean that I would be allowed entry.
The guard captain will surely doubt me and might even try to kill me, but one thing he won’t do and that was allow me entry.
But, didn’t I have two young beautiful girls with me who were ripe and ready for the taking?
[Make it three] I looked at Asmara and smiled.
As good as she was in the matters of warfare, she immediately understood what I intended to do.
“If a man touched me wrongly, I will cut him into pieces no matter the operation,” Asmara said, without any apparent change in her expression.
“Relax.
I won’t do anything of the sort.” I knew she didn’t like the solution, even though she wasn’t offended.
I just didn’t know she had so much trust in me.
She knew I was joshing.
The password?
I never needed it in the first place.
I was just delayed in snapping the woman’s neck and letting her speak a few more words.
I never needed the password, all I needed was the location.
The plan was to never enter cautiously.
The only need to do that arose when innocents were involved or one wanted to covertly infiltrate a place.
I didn’t need to worry about both of those.
The fact that the captain of the guardhouse worked with the woman dead back in the sewer meant he was far from innocent.
And the fact that he wasn’t ousted yet was because his whole squadron was in on it.
Possibly he had a connection with his superiors as well.
In other words, there was no need to spare anyone.
How was the news going to get to the lord of the city when there would be no one left alive to do so?
“Are you sure such a head-on approach is a good idea?” Asmara asked since she understood my intentions more or less.
“Yeah,” I replied.
“What are you planning?
Tell me about it as well.” Sasha wasn’t so bright when it came to this so she asked.
Instead of me, it was Asmara who responded to her inquiry, “He intends to kill everyone in the guardhouse to prevent the news from getting back to the duke.” “But what he hasn’t explained is how long would that work.
If no report went from the guardhouse, the people of the duke will get suspicious.” Asmara told me.
“Oh, that’s simple.
We change our clothes.” I replied before I looked at her and said, “And we write the report.” In other words, we weren’t destroying the guardhouse.
There was no need to do so when there was an easier option available.
We were taking over it.
