The Archangel of Death - Chapter 225
225: The Punisher 225: The Punisher Chapter 225 “NO!
Let my daughter go you sick bastards!” A man yelled while being held by a group of men in heavy armor.
They snickered among themselves while watching a group of men throwing around a girl in a circle, taking a piece of her clothing every time.
The girl screamed and sobbed but no one stopped.
Not even the spectators had any guts to do anything. It was clear what was going to happen and no one needed to be told of it.
Finally, a man in armor, heavier than any other and larger than any other knight stepped forward and took hold of the girl.
The girl struggled and screamed but to no avail.
The man, with a nasty grin on his face, was about to lower his face when something splattered on the girl’s face.
She involuntarily closed her eyes to stop that matter from getting in her eyes.
All around, everyone stopped.
No one moved.
Why?
Because the giant man was now missing something very important to life.
His head.
The confusion didn’t last for long when more heads began to explode.
The knights panicked.
They tried to raise their swords but they still couldn’t figure out why their heads were exploding until the last minute.
They saw a number of white orbs falling down from the sky, on top of their heads, taking their heads along with their lives.
A few still remained.
A few that were holding the man.
They saw a young man in a green robe and leather outfit, slowly making his way to them.
He was carrying a boy in his arms who seemed to be about seven, his head turned to the side so he couldn’t see the mess that was being caused.
“Who are you!?” A knight yelled, pointing his sword at the robed young man with the other knights.
“I am the cleric of the church of the great goddess Veronica.
In her name, I have come to stop this vile act of yours.” The young man spoke in a pretentious accent that sounded exactly like a devotee of a god.
“Wha–?” The knights were stunned because they couldn’t understand what was going on.
What was the believer of the church doing so far away?
The Cortum empire was nations away so it didn’t make any sense for the people of the church to be there.
“What do you want?
The Sunshine Kingdom doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of the church.” The knight tried to reason.
The individual they were facing was too strong.
It was better to involve the kingdom in it.
The young man simply smiled and said nonchalantly, “Vile acts are vile acts.
Doesn’t really matter where you are.” “Wait!” The knight hurriedly said when more glowing orbs appeared around the green-robed young man.
“We were just ordered to do this.
We’re just soldiers.” The knight said.
Adrian smiled, a smile that was so benevolent that no one would say it was an evil smile.
Yet to the knights, it was the smile of the devil.
“You were enjoying it,” was all Adrian said before more of the knights busted open and died on the spot.
The heavy rain washed their blood down the roads.
The young man said to the boy, “Go on to your sister.” The man who was held by the knights also ran to his daughter, forgetting about everything else.
Adrian looked at the scene where the young girl was sobbing, taking cover in her father’s and brother’s embrace.
Adrian sighed and turned to the biggest building in the city that could be seen from miles away.
No doubt, it was the castle of the lord of this city, the lord of the Moon Dusk city.
He stepped forward and started to make his way to the castle in slow but heavy steps.
************ Artifacts limit one’s strength.
In this case, if one was above B rank in the mana department, they wouldn’t be able to enter.
That was why I made sure Rose didn’t climb up the B+ mark in her training.
I made sure she stopped at level 249.
As for me, I had no such limit.
I could enter because I had no mana.
However, as far as my power was concerned, it was still limited to the peak of B+ rank.
That was because that was the power level this pocket dimension allowed.
It took me a while to understand the science behind these artifacts because there was that extra factor of mana involved.
However, they worked on the same principle as any other.
The science behind these artifacts was taking a piece of history and trapping it in a pocket universe or separate small dimension that had either a slow passage of time or a loop cast on it.
Frozen, forever, while also reliving that moment for an eternity.
No doubt this event would have happened; it would have happened a bit differently because I doubt anyone like me showed up.
But it didn’t matter.
The loop wouldn’t change just because I have changed it, because I have done something different than the intended effect.
This artifact would always keep repeating like that because that was how the moment in it was programmed to function.
Well, that was the science part.
Now what was I going to do about it?
Nothing.
I couldn’t do anything.
In the end, I was a human.
Bound to the laws of the man created ever.
I want my father nor was I Allison.
I couldn’t just do things without fearing for consequences because I was too strong.
No matter how strong I became, I would never be able to break the laws of man.
And the rule of this dimension was that no power would be allowed above a certain number.
That was why the Supremes couldn’t exist in the dimension of mankind because then they would be limited to the power of that world.
The same went for me.
I was very strong in reality and that strength was suppressed while I was here.
Still, it wasn’t a problem.
As I slit the throat of another knight and made my way past the broken gate of the castle, leaving some of them alive because they had a small semblance of innocence in their eyes.
I wasn’t a lunatic.
I had never killed an innocent person and I wasn’t going to start doing so in my anger.
But I will traumatize them by ripping their comrades apart in front of their eyes so they know what would be coming for them if they ever tried to become them.
The peak power of this artifact was B+.
The test was very difficult for the students to take because they had at most reached C at this point in the original novel.
Eric was somehow C+ and the others were very strong as well the last time I checked but it was still a difficult test because, in the end, they would have to defeat a B+ knight of the Duke Cameron we were supposed to punish as the original task of this test.
For that, we needed help from the Duke of Moon Dusk territory, another Duke of the Sunshine kingdom who also had a B+ knight at his disposal.
A small kingdom like this that had their king at A+, it was quite a power one possessed.
And since the force being sent was for some reason very small, the operation wasn’t very well funded by anyone.
I didn’t know what Duke Cameron had done but I wasn’t interested in knowing.
All I knew was that he needed to die for this test to be passed.
But for now, let us focus on this fatso who was groveling before me as I shoved the head of his B+ knight in his face with a sweet smile.
[Look at yourself in the mirror] Well, with me being drenched in blood, bodies all around and a face of a dead man he thought would be able to protect him, I admitted my face wasn’t very calming to the Duke fatso of Moon Dusk.
“Heeikk!!!
Please!
Forgive me!
I just wanted to marry her!” He pleaded, covered in snot and tears, a sight that made me repulsive for some reason.
I remembered one of those cultured animes for some reason and it made me angrier.
“Is that how you ask a girl out, you spawn of a fat bit**?” I asked as I struck the fat man’s head with the helmet of the dead man, the knight’s head still in it.
“Well, I guess it is none of my business.
I am, after all, here to represent the goddess’s decree.” I stood up with an aloof face and began to say after clearing my throat, “In the name of the witchy witch of the bi**chy kingdom, I, the devotee follower of the esteemed bi-I mean goddess, Veronica, sentence you to a very, very painful death.” I then looked at him with a smile and said, “Let the dismantling begin.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
