The Archangel of Death - Chapter 224
224: Test 3 224: Test 3 Chapter 224 I looked at Alicia who was eating quietly next to me.
I was worried about her but she hadn’t displayed any changes in her behavior for the past few weeks.
I was beginning to wonder whether I had lost touch but I was sure that her brain was affected.
She just didn’t know it yet.
I guess it was a good thing in one way.
But it was a bad thing at the same time.
A double-edged sword if I have to say.
Her brain wasn’t physically damaged so no skill in my arsenal could help.
It was a psychological issue and it had to be treated like that.
“I’m done.
Shall we go now?” Alicia asked.
Laura also looked at me, done with her food.
Rose was a quick eater so she was done a long time ago.
As for the rest at the table, there were only two girls who shared identical features and the trademark of the Lux family, my cousins who were also studying at the Bellator.
You guessed it right.
We were back at the academy.
The church was still closed off so there was no pressure from over there.
Some families under the influence of the church were raising their voices but once the imperial family wiped half of them out and they received no help from the church, they went silent because their rebellion had failed, terribly.
As for my rewards, they were yet on hold because the imperial family was busy dealing with the matters of aftereffects of the church’s abandonment of all the monasteries all around the empire and hiding behind a barrier that not even the divine-ranked monsters of the imperial family could enter.
The reason we were back in Bellator was because of the test.
That’s right.
Today was the third test of the first year.
I had no reason to attend it but I was curious about whether my conjecture about the achievement system was true or not.
It wasn’t like I needed achievements because I was already very powerful but I wanted to see whether I was right or not.
It was just a simple matter of curiosity.
We arrived at the artifact room.
This one, like all other tests was held in an artifact too.
I mean, how did they expect the students to learn when they wouldn’t let them face dangerous situations?
People learn through the battles of life and death.
Any other way is just letting them know they won’t have to work hard because they have nothing at stake.
“Good morning.
I hope you all are ready.
The next test lasts for two weeks so I hope you are prepared.” Desmond said before he began to explain the format of the test.
I was glad to see that the content of the test didn’t change.
“The attack is about a siege operation.
The events here occurred three hundred years ago when a noble family in the Sunshine Kingdom tried to coup against the Sunshine royal family.” “Your task is to infiltrate the city and examine the places optimal for a siege.
Then, you will have to escape the city, join the army, and lead them to take down the fort of the said noble.
You will have only two weeks for all of that so I don’t have to remind you that you are pressed for time.” Desmond ended the overview and waited for questions.
As always, the students asked nothing but stupid questions while I asked none.
I didn’t need to after all.
The score test was entirely reliant on what we would be doing in there.
Nothing I did on the outside mattered so I didn’t waste my breath.
“You will be starting in a neighboring city, a territory of another Duke.
You will have to collaborate with the duke and get some help from him.
He can safely get you inside.
How do you get him to do so?
That’s all up to you.” Desmond said.
In the novel, Eric convinced the duke by doing the dungeon clear outside the city and also gave him the reward which I was after.
[But you’re not going to do that, are you?] ‘Why would I when there’s an easier option available?’ I asked but I didn’t wait for an answer.
After all, there was none.
I just simply had to do what I had to do and what I did best.
Nothing else.
***************** Another thing that Desmond oh so kindly didn’t mention was the team up.
The test was to be taken in five teams, each entering their own realities.
The reason why there were only spots for fifty people in each classroom was also because of that.
The artifact only allowed a maximum of five realities and each reality would only begin when ten people were to enter.
And the artifact wouldn’t activate unless all five realities were activated at the same time so fifty people were a requirement for this artifact.
Now how was my team constitution?
Well, that consisted of three apostles, five extras, me, and a fiery red girl whose chest was out of this world.
‘I’m becoming a pervert.’ [Yes, you are] Eric, Sera, and Sasha were the apostles.
I had good interaction with Sasha so I wouldn’t say I wasn’t on good terms with her.
As for Asmara, nothing was certain.
She didn’t view me from a romantic point of view and her obsession with strength mostly kept her away from romance.
Eric and Sera didn’t like me so much so I didn’t make much effort about them.
As for the rest of the extras, I didn’t care.
At all.
We were all dressed in green robes while dressed in simple leather pants and shirts.
There was a sword on each of our waists and a concealed dagger.
We were in the middle of the slums of the Moon Dusk city, the starting city of the scenario.
We had to visit the duke and arrange a deal with him.
Right now, in the middle of extensive rain, my companions were still taking in their surroundings, deciding on their next move.
Choosing a leader for the party.
I already knew who would be selected and quite frankly, I wasn’t interested in taking charge as well.
I was here for one purpose, and one purpose only.
To see whether I could get an achievement or not.
I wasn’t interested in becoming first as well.
I never came second and even now, my first rank in the academy was consistent and even if I were to do badly in this test, I would still remain first, probably.
Anyway, as expected, Eric was chosen to be the leader of the party.
I had votes as well, from Sasha and Asmara surprisingly but all others voted for Eric.
Eric didn’t look too happy though.
After all, he had a thing for Asmara and he was also an item with Sasha in his previous life.
Seriously dude, how many women do you need?
There’s a limit to being so greedy.
Shameful womanizer.
[…] [Scumbag, isn’t he?] No idea what she was talking about.
“No!
Please!
Listen to me!
Someone help!” Just as we were about to go, I heard the shout of a child.
It was a boy about seven to eight years old, begging to get the attention of the people.
But no one glanced at him.
Everyone just kept on going.
“Please save my family!
They are about to hurt my sister!
They are going to hurt everyone.” The child kept begging but no one stopped.
“We should go.” One of the extras said.
Even Eric, who was very kindhearted could only choose to ignore the small boy.
All because this wasn’t reality.
It was an event of the past.
No point in helping anyone because they are all dead.
Yeah, right.
Going was the rational option and I would have done the same.
But just one thing was different.
The one asking for help was just a child.
I never crossed lines when it came to children.
I started to take my steps in the boy’s direction.
“We have to go, Adrian.
We don’t have time for this.” Sera said, annoyed.
I ignored her and kept on moving to the boy.
The others looked at each other when Sera once again warned me, “If you jeopardize everyone’s progress, it wouldn’t be good for you.” I stopped and turned my head.
I looked at her and said with a smile, “Shut up you b*****.” “What?!” Sera said angrily, her mana spiking.
The same for Eric and the rest didn’t know what to do in the current situation.
“Make sure to be absolutely certain about your next move.
I will rip you to shreds.” An amicable smile on my face as I said that, shutting up everyone.
Leaving everyone stunned, I once again made my way to the boy.
He was still begging people to stop frantically as if he was running out of time.
I also noticed some injuries on his arm and leg.
Sword slashes.
He stopped when I touched his shoulder from behind.
He turned to look at me and I said before he could even understand what was happening, “Take me to your family.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
