The Archangel of Death - Chapter 222
222: Celandine (1) 222: Celandine (1) Chapter 222 A pressure assaulted Sophien, Rose, and Max.
Rose, was the better one but the rest of the two were left frightened.
They had seen Adrian fight but never like this before.
It was different for Sophien but it was different for Max as well who had seen Adrian in angry mode.
He still remembered clearly how Adrian butchered the Bandits who were running a human trafficking ring.
But he didn’t feel this pressure before.
It wasn’t Adrian’s soul power that was affecting them.
No, it was bloodlust.
They were scared because of what they were feeling from Adrian, not from the enormous power that destroyed the chapel they were in.
“Out.
All of you.” Adrian calmly said.
No one argued.
Even if they insisted on staying, none of them would be useful in that situation.
Rose might be but even she wouldn’t be able to hold off for much longer.
“And Rose,” Adrian called out once again, stopping Rose in her tracks.
Adrian kept his head forward, his eyes still locked with Celandine’s as he said, “Tell the old man to stay outside.
She’s mine to kill.” Rose looked at Celandine and said, “Okay.
Be safe.” They all left with that, leaving only Adrian and Celandine in the chapel alone.
“She doesn’t treat you like a prince.
Is she someone special?” Celandine then smirked and asked, “Should I go after her next?” “I’m sorry but you won’t be going anywhere.
You’re dying here, today.” Adrian said.
“Oh, don’t be so sure of that.
I have something up my sleeve.” Celandine replied.
“Like what?
That bracelet?
It won’t get you out of here.
Why do you think I talked so much when I came in here?
I needed to buy some time.” Adrian said.
Celandine narrowed her eyes and touched the bracelet.
After a few moments, she smiled and said, “The first elder.” She then raised her head again and said, “And you think I wouldn’t know that?
I speculated about everything and I would miss this small, or to be precise, a big detail?” She was going to teleport out of there.
But with Rafael’s help, Adrian had managed to block that path.
However, that only made Celandine smile.
She was smart and she knew that if she was ever found out, there was only one way to stop her from teleporting.
And that was Rafael and his spatial magic.
But she could get past that.
She just needed something special for that.
Adrian didn’t say another word and shot at Celandine.
Celandine extended her arm and an invisible shield appeared before her.
Adrian’s fist struck the shield still in the middle of his charge and the shockwave emitted from the collision damaged the chapel more.
Adrian was not even pushed back from the rebound while Celandine felt a little pushed back but she managed to hold.
But, it was her misunderstanding.
Adrian’s fist was still lodged in her shield and while she thought that Adrian’s attack had ended, she felt a little push, which she thought was because of her involuntary body movement but she was wrong.
She was getting pushed back slightly, again and again.
Adrian was still emitting power through that attack and the worst thing was that Celandine didn’t feel any magic power or the mysterious power Adrian was emitting just now.
It was raw physical strength.
‘What is this?’ She thought as she also supplied more mana to her shield and tried to hold on but it was proving to be useless as the power from Adrian only seemed to be increasing bit by bit.
‘Tch.’ She tutted inwardly and had no choice but to explode her mana after compressing it.
Since Adrian didn’t have any protection or any special power on him, that was surely going to hurt him.
And she was right.
Adrian was blown away and crashed into the wall behind him, just beside the door of the chapel.
But she was wrong to assume that the damage would be long-lasting.
She saw Adrian standing up with blood on him, his arm was ruptured, and there were signs of injuries on other parts of his body but before she could celebrate, she saw them healing at the spot at a visible speed.
It wasn’t any spell either.
He was just healing on his own.
“What are yo—” She was about to question that anomaly when Adrian once again shot at her, once again crashing into her shield but this time Celandine was pushed a lot more than before.
However, this time, Adrian didn’t make it a contest of strength but began to repeatedly hit the shield.
With each hit, Celandine felt like she was getting pushed back.
Not only that, but her mana consumption rate had doubled.
Her shield began to crack eventually under each hit.
But that still wasn’t compared to what she felt.
She constantly felt as if something was tugging at her soul.
To get out there.
Without a moment’s hesitation, she activated the bracelet on her wrist.
It was given that she wouldn’t be able to get out of there due to Rafael but she still had something Rafael didn’t.
Divine power.
And that was when her eyes took a shade of fear.
Fear so strong she hadn’t ever felt before.
She saw the maniacal grin on Adrian’s face, with each hit, the feeling from before worsened.
And the moment her premonitions had been warning her came, the shield protecting her and blocking Adrian’s attack finally broke down, throwing her this time to the statue behind her.
Adrian slowly walked to her, his suit damaged from various areas from the attack before.
But his stride was calm and collected.
He didn’t hurry in his steps nor were they too slow.
A perfect stride to strike fear in the heart of the young woman who was trying to collect herself from the pain that was assaulting her internal body.
She hurriedly cast some sort of spell on her while Adrian was still halfway through and stood up, her guard still up.
Her strength was at least at SS+ rank yet she was being overwhelmed like that.
She raised her head to look at the monstrous young man slowly making his way to her.
She chanted another spell and pointed both of her hands at Adrian, “Domain of insanity.” The domain of insanity, a spell that was supposed to fill the mind of the target with thoughts so cruel and deranged that the person would no longer be a sane human.
He would do anything and everything, from vile to unacceptable deeds, because of his lost sanity.
Nothing happened.
Adrian kept walking with slow strides, his eyes clear.
“Are you trying to mess up my head?” Adrian asked.
He wasn’t expecting an answer nor Celandine had one.
She tried to protect herself again but a fist was all that blew the shield along with her and the statue behind her into smithereens, throwing her to the other end of the chapel.
She crashed into the wall this time and broke through it.
She was thrown outside the courtyard of the chapel.
She was severely damaged this time.
Her innards felt like bursting and her body couldn’t even move properly.
With trembling lips, she chanted the spell to heal herself.
Once she was, she stood up, a little groggy this time as her mana was now half than before.
“You’re wasting your time.” Adrian stepped out of the broken wall and kept walking towards her, slowly but intimidatingly.
“My head’s already messed up,” Adrian said and readied his fist again.
All Celandine could do was create another shield but Adrian didn’t even get closer to her.
He just waved his fist in her direction and the power from that strike was enough to push her slightly.
“Where’s that confident face of yours?” Adrian asked.
Celandine was now properly terrified.
Seeing no other choice, she began to chant skills and spells at random, hoping for any of them to work on Adrian.
“Eye of the beholder!” “Illusion of eternity!” “Mind deformation!” “Corruption of holiness!” Spell after spells but nothing happened.
Adrian’s walk was firm and constant.
He wasn’t slowing down even a bit.
She only had two choices.
And that was to get out of there or she could blow all the mana in her body because that was the only thing that worked before.
She couldn’t try the latter so carelessly because it would harm her as well.
But that wasn’t what worried her.
What she truly worried, or terrified of was the fact that the former option wasn’t possible as well.
The reason… “All the life branch elements bow in the presence of a higher element, the element of life,” Adrian said as suddenly, his speed became so fast that her eyes couldn’t follow.
He disappeared from his spot and grabbed Celandine by her neck, raising her in the air, and making her gasp for breath.
“Your divine power was never going to help you from the beginning,” Adrian answered the reason why Celandine’s ace in the hole wasn’t working.
“Now, shall we get to the matter of hearts?” Adrian asked with the most beautiful smile.
