214: Platinum haired girl 214: Platinum haired girl Chapter 214 Ugh… I woke up with a splitting headache.

Hadn’t felt that in a while actually.

But mainly that was because of my dream.

The dream that I had.

It wasn’t really a dream though.

It was a self-defense mechanism.

Against myself.

I opened my eyes and looked at the platinum-haired girl sitting across from me.

She had platinum hair that flowed down to the floor while she was sitting on a chair.

Her eyes were of the same enchanting color.

They weren’t white like mine but they were platinum, a little different look from mine.

Her skin was also very pale as if blood and sunlight were nowhere near her.

And finally, those eyes that stared deep into my very existence.

“Be careful.

You look at me like that and something will surely awaken,” I joked.

She didn’t even squint her eyes and kept on looking at me.

I stared down and glanced at my hands.

They were chained, but the chain appeared to be simple.

I looked at her again and said, “You know this won’t hold me back, right?” I asked but once again, she remained quiet and just kept looking at me.

Seeing that she wasn’t too intent on holding up a conversation, I asked once again, “Who are you?” “That doesn’t matter.

What matters is, who you are.” She countered that made me laugh a bit.

She was playing mind games with me.

That was cute.

She stood up from her seat and approached me.

once she was close, she knelt in front of me and became level with my eyes.

Still staring deep into my eyes, she asked, “Who are you?” I looked at her for a while but this time, I was the one to remain silent.

However, my silence proved to be useless as the next word that left her lips left me in shock, “Gabriel.” However, my shock didn’t last for a very long time.

After all, this was a game.

Shocking meant losing.

I wasn’t going to lose this game no matter what.

“Who do you think Gabriel is?” I asked.

She once again stared deep into my eyes and said, “I believe Gabriel is the false identity you put up in your mind to protect what really is underneath.” Of course, she would go for that.

That was logical after all.

no one in their right mind would just say ‘Because you’re from another world’.

Instead, conjuring mental images to block your real thoughts and memories would be considered more logical than that.

That also explained her answer.

However, she was wrong.

So that was a win in my bag.

“Interesting,” I said.

“Then why do you think he is there?

How do you think I imagined an entirely different world?” I asked once again.

“Your mind is like anything I have ever seen.” She said before she began to add, “It’s strong, powerful.

Difficult to probe.

And most important of all, you have several self-defense mechanisms in place to curtain your real mind.” She was close, actually, she was right in a way.

But she was still wrong.

I had conjured up those thoughts and placed them at the beginning layer of my mind so that the deeper ones would remain buried.

My mind was a great mind.

So great that it was dangerous.

To me and the others.

That was why I had to make layers in my mind.

The good on the surface while the bad memories lay buried deep somewhere.

“Tell me, why have you created these false memories?

What are you hiding deep inside?” She asked.

I looked deep into her eyes and said, “I’m hiding something very bad.

Something painful.” “Is it so painful that you have to create something like that?” She asked.

“Worse than you can imagine.

Havoc and destruction.

That’s what’s in there.

And the only thing blocking that are the good memories you see on the top.” I replied.

“It can’t be that bad,” She said before she placed her hands on my temples and began to probe my mind once again.

However, this time, I didn’t allow her in.

She looked at me and said, “It would only hurt more if you resisted.” “If it was any other strong mind, then yes.

It would hurt.

But it won’t.

Because my mind is not just any other strong mind.” I replied.

Actually, I was doing her a favor.

The place where we were right now, if she were to suffer mental damage, she would die, or at least her mind would even though her body wouldn’t suffer any damage.

She still tried.

But no matter how much she tried, there was no reaction.

She couldn’t just penetrate that one layer I had allowed her to look at.

After a while, when she ran out of mana, she let go of me and returned to her seat.

“I appreciate you slowly walking.

The view is amazing,” I said to her.

She looked at me and asked, “Is that how you control yourself?

By making jokes.” I remained silent while she continued after a moment, “My body doesn’t interest you.

Nor does my beauty affect you.

I can confidently say that I am more beautiful than Sophien, Rose, and even Alicia.

I would have to compete a little with Laura but even then, I still come quite high in ranks yet that doesn’t affect you.

Which means you have a different criteria for women.” “And then there is the matter of trust and loyalty.

Millions would bow to you if you were to show them your power yet you waste your resources on a talentless person who cannot even use mana properly.” “And last but not least is your will to rule.

You have no interest in that crown yet you are unwilling to let go.

Fight for it even.” After she was done telling me a little about myself, she asked, “Why?” “Beauty.

Ha!

That never meant a thing to me.” I replied.

It never did.

I had seen beauties that would rival my mother but none of them took any place in my heart.

And I had fallen for girls that were common like common girls.

I wasn’t saying I was not like the rest of the men.

Beauty and body were my criteria, but I could turn an old witch into a beautiful angel if I wanted to.

My criteria for love or liking has always been how the other person approached me.

Rose approached me with shyness but she didn’t show any hesitation when it came to me.

So did Laura, Alicia, and Sophien.

If they wanted me, they showed it.

They weren’t afraid of being judged or anything, they wanted me.

As a man, I would want any woman, but I would only have a woman who also wanted me and everything that came along with it.

Asmara didn’t want me from the beginning.

She may have changed her view now but I wouldn’t easily do so.

Rose wanted me from the beginning as I was, and so did Laura and Alicia as well.

I had a history with Sophien but she also wanted me deep down.

She just didn’t show it.

“You think I chose Max for loyalty?

Hell no.

I chose Max because he wouldn’t bend in front of anyone but me.

Not even the emperor.” I replied.

“And that crown?

I hold the power to take over the world.

I don’t right now but I soon will and when I will, no one will be able to stop me.

So I didn’t hurt Harvey because he wanted the crown from me, I hurt him because of how he tried to take the crown from me.” I replied as anger began to well up inside me.

“Had he not targeted Laura the first time, I would have given up my crown.

But then he crossed the line and had Alicia abducted,” When I got to this point, the room we were in began to shake.

She worriedly looked around and then back at me, “He was the reason the demons could do what they did to her.

I almost lost her to that b*tch Veronica because of him.” The shaking had gotten so intense that even she was immensely worried now.

“So no!

This isn’t about a crown or a throne.

This is about what’s fair.

He targeted and hurt someone I cared about.

Now I will hurt and take something he cares for.

The crown he oh so desired all his life.

I will take it in front of his eyes as he would helplessly watch me and wouldn’t be able to do anything.” I finished and so did the shaking.

She looked at me, astonishment in her eyes.

“What?” I asked.

“You didn’t think I wouldn’t know where we are, did you?

It was obvious from the beginning.” I couldn’t use mana so it never made sense that they could use chains with enchantments that could block my strength.

It meant there was no strength to be used.

I was still sleeping.

And we were in her mind.

This platinum chick was a mentalist.

What a surprise.
