213: Gabriel (4) 213: Gabriel (4) Chapter 213 “You called for me?” A black-haired middle-aged man sat in front of a handsome black-haired young man, almost a boy, about seventeen years old.

“Yes, I did,” Gabriel replied with a smile.

“If you think you can cut a deal with me after assaulting my family, then you’re wrong,” The middle-aged man said.

“I see your children didn’t inherit your hair color.

What?

Yours was too boorish?

Or… Is there something else spicy involved?” Gabriel provoked with a smirk.

The man stood up from his seat with a threatening glare.

Gabriel simply followed his eyes with a smile.

The man looked at him for a while before he turned to leave.

“Drop it all,” While the man was about to leave, Gabriel spoke.

“What?” The man stopped to hear for a second.

“Drop it all and run away.

Drop all the charges.

Forget about all of this.

Change cities and live another happy life, someplace else.” Gabriel stopped speaking.

“Is that supposed to be a threat?” The man asked about the ridiculous terms because that was the only way to describe those terms.

A threat.

“No.

this is peaceful advice.

A piece of advice in which both parties peacefully resolve everything.” Gabriel spoke as he leaned back in his chair and continued, “However, if you do not do so and the charges on me are not dropped by five, I will get out of here.

I will find you and your family and I will hurt you.

All of you.” Gabriel nonchalantly said.

The man looked at Gabriel with an incredulous look.

“You don’t know who I am, do you?” The man asked Gabriel.

“Mayor Humphrey.

You’re the mayor of Pennsylvania.” Gabriel replied.

That only confused the man because Gabriel still threatened him despite knowing that.

“I know that look but do as I say.

Your status as a mayor and your guards won’t be able to save you.

Nothing will be able to.” Gabriel said while looking deep into the man’s eyes before he added, “You have until five.” Mayor Humphrey didn’t say another word and turned around and left.

************** He left.

He came to his office.

He checked some of his work.

His eyes instinctively went to the clock on the wall.

It was just four yet.

He shook his head and went back to work.

He called for his family to be transferred to his office.

He arranged for some guards.

“Honey!

What is going on?” His wife asked, her voice a little funny because of her swollen jaw.

As for his children, they were deeply traumatized by everything so they couldn’t speak.

From what he knew, it was his children who started it first and it wasn’t like he didn’t know that.

he knew everything about that but who would admit their loved ones’ mistakes?

Besides, Gabriel’s response was too hard.

He could have talked it out.

He could have taken it to the school but he didn’t.

he let the issue escalate and now it had come to this.

However, there was this deep nagging feeling that increased every minute the clock inched closer to five.

He ignored it as much as he could, but there was nothing to be done.

He shook his head, replied to his wife that she shouldn’t worry, and got back to his work.

The moment of judgment came.

Finally.

He looked at the clock, it struck five past five.

He chuckled.

As if relief washed over him.

Whatever it was, it was just empty.

The words of that boy were empty with no weight behind them.

The mayor’s phone rang, and he shook.

But he managed to calm down the next moment because it was from the police captain.

He picked up the call and said, “Captain.

I hope it is important.” “It… It is.” The captain awkwardly said his tone tense.

The tone made the mayor wary so he asked, “What is it?” “It’s just… that… the boy we arrested.

He was just cleared out,” The captain said.

“What?!

He assaulted my family!

How could you let him out?!” The mayor asked in anger.

“That… the… the call came for him.” The captain replied.

“What call could be more important than mine?!” The mayor asked.

“The white house.

The call came from the white house.” The captain said.

“What?” The mayor was taken aback.

Why did the white house call for the boy?

What connection did he have there?

Why did the white house call the captain and not him?

Many questions ran through his mind but no answer came.

Thud!

He was startled by the sound of something falling outside while the phone line was cut off.

The door to the office opened and a black-haired boy entered the office, carrying an automatic rifle on his shoulder, a smile on his face.

“Told ya I will find you,” Gabriel said with a smile while everyone in the room remained stunned.

The mayor was about to pick up his gun when a shot landed on the place where he was about to reach.

“Stupidity is not a good thing, you know.

First, you hide in such an obvious space.

No, first, you didn’t even listen to my advice.

When I told you to run away, you should have.

You had all the time in the world.” Gabriel said.

“But if we’re counting the things that got you to this place, then you should have controlled your children.

I want you to know that whatever is happening is because of your children,” Gabriel said as he took a seat on the corner sofa.

“What do you want?” The mayor asked.

“what do you think I want?” Gabriel asked.

“If you want an apology, I can…” The mayor said but he was interrupted when Gabriel said, “What good would your apology do?

And did you ever apologize to the three families your children destroyed?” “…” The mayor remained silent.

“Oh, that’s right.

I know everything.

About your daughter who burned the face of a girl with acid from the science lab just because she looked prettier than her that day.

About your son who crippled a boy just because he was better at soccer, or the girl they both instigated to have drugs and have the entire family arrested.” Gabriel recounted.

“Oh wait!

Wasn’t it you who planted the drug?

Ha!

And you offer an apology when you’re just as much of a scumbag bully like them?

What a joke.” Gabriel said.

The mayor looked at everyone.

That was right.

He knew of every crime his children did and he was the one who covered them up.

“But we’re not the only ones in the wrong here.

You should have taken the complaint to the principal.” The mayor said, trying to involve technicalities.

“I could have.

Even though it wouldn’t have worked because it didn’t last three times either.

But why should I?

Why would I do that when I could just kill you all and get this over with.” The family tensed at Gabriel’s words.

“Look at it like this.

Your children are bullies.

Me?

I’m just a bigger one.” Gabriel said.

“I’m not a hero who is here to find justice for all those you destroyed.

I’m here to destroy you just like you destroyed them.

I’m here to tell you that there is a higher power above everyone.” Gabriel said before he stood up and giddily said, “Now!

Let’s stop with the chit-chat.” “Choose!” Gabriel exclaimed.

“Who will die tonight?

You will obviously live mayor but you will have to choose one of the other three.

One of the other three will die.

And you will have to choose.

Your son, your daughter, or your wife.

Which one is dying today?” Gabriel asked as he asked one by one while pointing his gun at them.

“Don’t kill me.

Please.” The daughter begged.

Likewise, the son did too.

But the mother remained quiet.

She looked at the mayor and said, “Choose me.

Choose me, honey.” The mayor looked at her wife, lost for quite a while before he said, “Me.

You can kill me.” “Not on the table.

You have to choose one of them.” Gabriel said.

“Why?!

Why are you playing this sick game?!” the mayor asked in anger.

More like lost.

He was lost.

Gabriel chuckled.

He chuckled and said, “Isn’t this the game you used to love to play with your buddies when you were young?

Tell me.

Did those people beg you to stop?” The mayor obviously didn’t have a good past, all buried underneath a net of the influential.

And when pointed out like this, the mayor remembered everything.

“Yes.

Yes.

I used to love that.

Hahaha.” A lost man’s laughter.

Laughter of vain.

Gabriel didn’t do anything.

He just looked at the mayor who slowly lost his mind but that wasn’t enough.

Gabriel walked forward and stood in front of him, looking deep into his eyes.

And soon enough, the mayor began to yell.

“NO!

CARLA!

FORGIVE ME!

NO!

FORGIVE ME!” The mayor began to claw himself and yelled so much that the ears of the people closer to them stung.

Gabriel looked at the rest of the family and smiled.

But that smile wasn’t beautiful in the least.

It was monstrous.

Then, without saying a word, he walked out, leaving the family in despair forever.
