204: Supremes 204: Supremes Chapter 204 Since ancient times, the greatest bargaining technique has undoubtedly been, ‘Walk away’.

If the other party doesn’t like your product, walk away and go to someone else.

If the other party doesn’t like your stated price, walk away and find someone else.

If the other party downplays your worth, simply walk away.

Even as a multimillion-dollar businessman, this technique was always handy.

“Wait,” Zarden said, just as I was about to exit.

It wasn’t like I was hoping for him to call me back.

I was genuinely going to walk away.

The reason was simple, knowledge.

I possessed knowledge of this world that even those who would discover it in the future were oblivious to I could get what I wanted from anyone.

If the church was the problem, I could have simply gone to them and offered them a deal that Harvey couldn’t and earned myself some time from them.

It wouldn’t make them my ally, but it would hold them back for a while, just until I was strong enough to deal with them.

I turned around with a smile and said, “Whatever you have to say, the price is now two favors.” Zarden’s expression visibly changed when I said that, not happy in the least as the atmosphere turned cold.

I didn’t cower in that pressure because I was used to more and I held all the cards.

He was the one who needed help, not me.

“You should know the limits you are crossing.” He said, his expression and tone colder than ice.

To be honest, I was a little going overboard but that didn’t matter.

Why should it?

I knew the worth of my deal so the setting of the price was also up to me and entirely me, no one else.

“Three,” I simply said, staring back at him into his golden eyes.

He stared back into mine for a while before he said, “What you’re offering is not enough.” “Not my problem,” I gave him a simple deal, all he had to do was agree.

He didn’t, he acted like a stuck-up old man, it was his own doing, not mine.

He had to pay.

“Then show us how to use the sword, and we’ll call it even,” Zarden said, finally caving in.

Of course, he would.

He may have downplayed my side of the deal, but he needed it more than he showed.

He was a cripple, and he wanted to walk, there was nothing else to think about.

As for the cursed sword, I knew how to use it, but they wouldn’t like the reason.

Actually, I wanted that sword for myself but I wasn’t strong enough to get it then, so I asked them to get it for me.

But, it seemed like they now realized the true worth of that sword and there was a great chance they wouldn’t give it to me.

A strong mind.

That was the requirement for the sword.

The sword originally belonged to ‘The Mentalist’, a villain who would cause trouble to the entire world, not only the humans or just the other races.

To all of them.

Only his mind was strong enough to bear the curse of the sword, but not by a lot though.

No perfect mind exists, every mind harbors dark thoughts.

Even the mentalist in the end ended up succumbing to them.

So it made sense it wouldn’t work for these guys.

[And this is the part where you brag about your strong mind] ‘Oh, how well you know me.’ She was right.

Ever since I was born, the one thing that was mine and mine alone was my mind.

I could never defeat my father but if one aspect I had stronger than him, then it was my intellect.

A mind stronger than any other in existence.

Which was why, I would be able to wield that sword.

The only problem was, having it.

These guys had it at the moment and unless I wanted to turn the entire human world against me, I wouldn’t be able to snatch it from them.

That only left me with one option.

Play oblivious.

“The sword issue is simple.

Just hold a competition and test people with the sword.

The one who can last against it the longest, give it to them under a loyalty contract.” I suggested a solution that was entirely in my favor.

The mentalist hadn’t awakened yet; he wasn’t a ‘Blessed’ yet.

He wouldn’t be able to participate in this tournament.

As for the rest, I doubted anyone would be able to wield the sword without losing their minds.

“You want us to turn thousands of people crazy?” Zarden asked.

since using the sword for even a minute causes a person to lose their mind, it seemed like a good reason from his point of view.

“The sword won’t corrupt anyone as long as they hold it for ten to twenty seconds,” I said.

“I see.” He replied, then he looked at me and without him asking, I knew what kind of question was coming at me, “How did you know about the sword?” He wouldn’t let me go or trust me without giving a reason but I didn’t need him to trust me, now do I?

I just needed to show him and if he wasn’t willing, I could always take my business someplace else.

“That’s a secret I won’t tell you.

You’re more than welcome to risk it and try if you want.” I said, openly taunting him.

He stared at me for a while before he nodded and said, “All right.

We will do as you say for now.” For now.

It meant he didn’t trust me but was willing to put his faith in me.

if I were to deliver all my claims, then well and good, if not, what did he have to lose?

“Very well, then, I will talk to you later.” I said and turned around to leave but he stopped me with a question, “When?” “When I can,” When Alicia woke up.

Of course, I wasn’t telling him that because then, he wouldn’t need me.

I turned around and left.

My next destination was the training hall where everyone was busy.

Rose was the fastest one among all of them like she was absorbing water like a sponge but permanently.

Her speed had increased by a lot but I still made sure she didn’t level up to level 249 before the third test.

Although I didn’t need to participate in the third test, I still wanted, to see whether I really could take Eric’s achievements or not.

If I could, I would take some of them that would increase my power a bit and compensate him with something equivalent.

I didn’t have to give him or compensate him for anything but ever since I found out that this world was held by him, I couldn’t risk him dying.

Anyway, so far, Rose was the only one showing considerable results in training.

Not only had she absorbed all the agility crystals to increase her speed to the peak of B rank, but she had also absorbed many mana crystals to peak her mana as well.

All that left was her other stats but I didn’t let her focus on that.

instead, I showed her a new lightning technique.

Although I hadn’t unlocked my lightning authority, I could still help in theory and she was talented enough to master it in practice in just one or two tries.

Aside from her though, everyone else was just, Meh.

Sophien was talented compared to the rest but not to the point that she would grow strong by leaps and bounds in a day.

She hadn’t even absorbed the agility crystals yet.

Laura, well, her talent wasn’t something great as well otherwise, she wouldn’t have been a beginner-mid-rank villain.

She had only absorbed about half of the dark mana crystals and even that with great difficulty since he couldn’t circulate mana with a great speed.

It seems the answer to her strength was leveling instead of normal training.

I wasn’t saying she wouldn’t need simple training as well, but she wouldn’t gain much and would have to be subjected to level training.

The same verdict stood for Max.

His talent was the lowest in my team and if not for the level up, he wouldn’t have gotten to this point as well.

It seemed like I needed to hold another level-up session for them.

A B rank dungeon would do for both of them because Max needed to reach the peak of C rank and Laura needed to steadily grow stronger while also incorporating dark mana in her.

But before going there, I wanted to check on Alicia once more because I was still worried about her.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t worried that she hadn’t woken up yet.

Just as I was about to touch the door handle, I paused.

I sensed someone in there.

Someone other than Alicia.

I turned the handle and opened the door, seeing Alicia standing in front of the mirror.

Like I said before, I sensed someone other than Alicia.

The girl in front of me was Alicia but not Alicia as well.

So that’s what the demons were doing.

‘Alicia’ turned to look at me and said, “You don’t seem to be kneeling in my presence.

What a brave mortal you are.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
