The Archangel of Death - Chapter 198
198: Alicia 198: Alicia Chapter 198 Of course, they would.
Even though vampires have an almighty amount of pride, nothing matters in front of an existence that might even be stronger than their gods at the moment.
The werewolf king was already too powerful that even in the novel, the guardians of other races didn’t mess with him.
Now that he had the advantage of a blood moon, there was no way any of them would even think of coming here.
Since no backup was coming, even with his bluff, there was only one thing the vampire captain could do.
Surrender.
However, I still haven’t found my target.
Why do these castles have to be so fu*king big?
[Go left] Suddenly, Allison spoke up.
I didn’t dare ask why she was helping me because, from the looks of it, she had had a soft spot for Alicia since the beginning.
I didn’t waste time and turned left and met another fu*king hallway.
[Go straight, then left, then an immediate right] [Alicia is in the fourth room on the left] I didn’t waste time and while she delivered the directions, I upped my speed to the maximum and by the time she finished, I was already outside the door.
Without waiting for a second, I kicked the door down, startling the people inside.
I saw three vampires with their hands hovering over Alicia, some kind of light coming out of their hands.
“Don’t stop!
Hurry up!” One of them spoke they saw me come in.
[Magic cannon x3] I didn’t know what they were doing but I did know that they weren’t too strong.
Only one cannon for each of them would be enough.
They were blown away and crashed into the walls as soon as my cannons came into contact with them.
I didn’t care about them and hurriedly checked Alicia’s pulse.
I sighed in relief when I noticed that all of her functions were normal.
But they were doing something, they were definitely doing something.
[They’re weaker than their actual rank] Weaker than their actual rank?
What did that mean?
I turned to look at the three of the knocked-out vampires and now that I focused on their bodies, I found them shriveled.
As if all life had been sucked out of them like juice from a cardboard can.
Wait a minute.
It didn’t seem like it was done to them by something.
They did it to themselves.
Which would mean they were providing their life force to something.
But what?
Alicia?
No something inside of Alicia.
My eyes went wide as I hurriedly held Alicia’s hand and without a care injected a little bit of my soul power inside of her.
I wasn’t going to use the power of death because her body would reject it and might explode and using the energy of life could help whatever was inside.
As my soul power examined her from the inside, and from a full body scan, I found something I didn’t expect.
Latched into her brain was a parasite, as long as my finger, it was eating away at her brain but it wasn’t her brain it was eating.
It was something else.
Her memories.
It didn’t look like they were being erased but more like, the blocked ones were being freed.
I didn’t know what this was about but I hurriedly grabbed the parasite and used my soul power to crush it.
since it held the life force of three vampires, I had to expend all of my soul power to kill it and with just a little residual, drag it out.
[You have killed an A+ parasite] [You have gained 1,000,000 EXP] [You have gained 1,000,000 coins] I ignored the few messages in my view and guided the dead parasite to exit through her nose.
Once it was done, and there was no more danger to her, I finally examined her brain.
It didn’t look like there was any damage to her but with Alicia, I couldn’t be careless as she was the number one target of the united races.
How this kidnapping came to be, I had no idea.
But what I did know was that whatever it was, it was supposed to be in the eighth volume of the novel.
The volume I hadn’t read because either it wasn’t finished, or my dad didn’t give it to me for fun.
After making sure she was fine, I turned my attention to the barely breathing shriveled vampires.
Although I wasn’t going to kill any vampires, I was very much thinking of killing these three.
[Calm down] I exhaled and inhaled to calm myself down.
Not killing any of them would make my next step of the plan a lot easier.
***** I left Alicia in the room with a protective shield around her.
Once I made sure she was safe, I came out of the room and made my way to the heart of the castle, where the device of the dome outside was situated.
Or at least that’s where I thought it would be.
I mean, where else would someone place a device that could create a barrier of such a scale?
As I entered the throne room of the castle, I met no one.
I guessed everyone was busy outside.
On the platform, lay a magnificent throne of red stone.
It didn’t seem comfortable at all because it was literally made of some kind of red stone.
I approached it and to my surprise, there was a beacon on the back of it the throne.
It didn’t look like the modern beacon but the sustenance was coming from magic crystals.
However, no doubt that if I were to cut off the connection of the mana crystals, the dome still wouldn’t go down because no one was stupid enough to leave such an obvious weakness.
It meant that there was a generator, or at least a backup power source powered to the dome which could help the sustenance of the dome to a great extent.
In other words, there was no use trying to deal with this like this.
What I needed to do was to shut down the dome itself, not its power source.
But it wasn’t here.
The device of the dome wasn’t there.
I raised my head to the ceiling.
Of course, where else would it be than the tip of the castle?
I activated fly and crashed through the ceiling, exiting from the other end of the roof, out in the open, and in front of me was what looked like a car engine.
Only it wasn’t a car engine.
I landed near it and opened the top compartment and I saw many gears running inside the machine, converting the power from the enormous source into the dome that was out there.
Now if I were to cut the power source from here, it would cut off both of them, the primary and secondary both.
So without wasting a minute, I did just that.
The dome began to flicker before it began to go down slowly.
I laughed and stored the device in my inventory.
Then I came down and stored all the power sources as well.
It was all money after all and you never know when you would need something like this.
I returned to the room to find Alicia still unconscious and it didn’t look like she was waking up any second.
It was a little worrying that she still wasn’t waking up but all her systems were normal and it didn’t look like she was in a coma so she should wake up eventually.
I turned to the three vampires to see them still knocked out.
I made sure to bind them before I left but they didn’t wake up even then.
I doubt they would live for a long time, a few days at most.
I knew there was no use getting anything out of them because these guys were slowly killing themselves.
What information I hoped to gain from people stricken with loyalty even prepared to kill themselves for the sake of something greater to them.
I knew this kind of people and I knew that even the worst torturous method won’t work on them.
But it wasn’t like there was no way of getting my answers.
Whatever these guys were doing, or undoing, was put up by someone.
Someone strong.
‘He should be here any minute.’ I thought.
I didn’t like to be kept in the dark.
Whatever happened in the eighth volume concerned me quite a bit.
I needed to know what it was and what the untied races were trying to do to Alicia.
And there was one person who could answer these questions of mine for sure.
“I think you should tell me what it is.
I know you know.” I said out loud as a set of footsteps entered my ears.
I didn’t need to turn to know who it was.
The only one person aside from me who wasn’t trying to save the holy saint but Alicia.
“I think it is time you come clear.” I turned to stare into Rafael’s eyes.
