The Archangel of Death - Chapter 193
193: Blood Moon 193: Blood Moon A massive thanks to Lizoran for pointing out such a big mistake of mine.
I accidentally replaced the chapters of my recent project with the previous two chapters.
Thanks to reader, Lizoran, I was made aware of my mistake and was able to fix it on time before the chapters left the Privilege category.
******** Chapter 193 At the world leader’s table, the atmosphere was quite tense.
It wasn’t because of the three terrifying presences on the table, which had never been seen together at once at the table, but because of the matter at hand.
The Saintess of the human world, the holy saint, the saint of light, Alicia mon Grante was abducted by the vampires.
A news that shook the entire world.
However, when asked from the vampires, they strongly denied such claims and stated that it was a rogue group that had done that.
It was bullsh*t, everyone knew that, but that didn’t mean there was anything that could be done about it.
But before anyone did anything about it, they needed to know that Alicia wasn’t in danger.
If, and a big if, it was a rogue vampire group, then there was a chance Alicia mon Grante could be hurt or worse, killed by them.
That was the sole reason keeping Rafael, the grandfather of the Saintess, at bay.
The only reason he wasn’t barging into the vampire territory, disregarding all safety and care was just because he couldn’t risk anything happening to Alicia.
His sole left family member.
His only granddaughter and he couldn’t risk her life because of anything.
“What… should we do?” Ronald, one of the kings from the Seven Kingdoms Alliance spoke.
No one else was starting the conversation because the atmosphere was quite tense.
Orion glanced at his friend who had his fists clenched and his teeth gritted, reframing from saying anything.
He sighed and asked, “What are their demands?” Orion’s question was met with silence.
Monica, the queen of the Ravenknight kingdom picked up the courage to reply, “They wish for nothing.
They simply state that they would keep the Saintess as a captive for a few years.
The ‘few’ in the sentence is undefined.” Rafael’s fists clenched even more but he remained quiet.
However, the pressure emitting from him was visibly distorting.
From the looks of it, Rafael was trying very hard to control himself but he couldn’t contain himself very well.
Orion nodded and said, “Then it seems we need to go in there in secret.
Have we found out where they are?” “The Blood Keep,” Bayren replied.
Orion sighed and asked, “And the vampires?
What do they say?” Since the Blood Keep was in the vampire’s territory, they couldn’t just barge in there.
“They have declined.
They say we could just as easily infiltrate their territory.
Because of that, they refused to let us in.” Ronald replied.
“So they have nothing to do with this, huh?” Orion sarcastically said.
The rest of them also knew that.
Although the vampires had denied any involvement, the refusal to run a rescue operation was just as admitting that they were in on it.
“Where is he?” Rafael spoke.
No one understood the question so they didn’t reply.
“Who are you talking about?” Zarden, the grand elder of the Cortum empire, asked.
“Adrian.
Where is he?” Rafael asked.
“I subtly signaled him to come but he didn’t seem to have understood it,” Sirius replied.
Rafael nodded but said nothing else.
As for the rest, they decided not to ask anything about the matter.
They simply regarded it as the relationship Adrian and Alicia had.
“Then we go in without caring about their opinion.” Orion said as he stood up and said, “Bayren, get your armor.
If the vampires say don’t go in, no need to worry about them.
Kill them all.” There was no other power on earth, even the demon empire, who could talk about infiltration into another race so easily.
“What if their Guardian got involved?” Ronald worriedly asked.
The human race only had two Guardian but their whereabouts were unknown.
However, the guardian of the vampire race was active and that was the sole reason that made them dangerous.
“Haha!
The guardian is nothing to be worried about.
I have found our own.” Orion laughed and left the room amidst laughter.
The others glanced at each other but they couldn’t understand what Orion really meant.
****** While the World’s leaders were discussing their own plans, the leaders of the United Races were also devising their own contingency plans.
“What do you think we should do?” Julianna asked.
“Nothing.” Alastair, who was the mastermind of the plan said.
He then turned to the vampire and said, “Let them in.
Do not engage them.
Do not fight them.
Let them do whatever they want.” DÃ ghar, the vampire representative and the vampire king’s son wasn’t too happy with that command and said, “There’s no way we are letting them do that.” “Don’t overcomplicate the matter.
Just plant the parasite.
That’s all the time you need.
You don’t understand the scale of trouble you would be in if they managed to capture your general and the truth about rogues came out.” Alastair chided DÃ ghar, which he wasn’t too happy about.
But before he could interfere, Julianna asked Alastair, “I didn’t know the next Apostle of Destruction was wary of a human boy.” There was ridicule in her voice.
She also agreed with DÃ ghar, but she didn’t want to admit that.
“Remind me, are we talking about the same boy who almost killed your precious spy and you told her to frantically run away from him?” Alastair wasn’t afraid of anyone at the table, and that naturally included the woman who was attempting to ridicule him.
Julianna wasn’t too happy with the obvious insult but she chose to change the topic wisely as she said, “We don’t need to give in to their demands.” “Of course, we don’t.
But it seems you have forgotten how crazy the imperial family is.
Do you really think they care if we have three guardians?
Even if they don’t know about yours, even if they did, they still wouldn’t care.” Alastair reminded her of the craziness of the Lux family and made Julianna shudder as she had firsthand experienced the craziness of that family.
She wasn’t the only one to shudder, Astaroth also had the same reaction inwardly because of his memories of his brother-in-law.
“I suggest you do as I say and just hurry along with the plan.
You think the Lux family is crazy but they wouldn’t even come close to the maniac who cuts people but keeps them alive somehow.” Alastair gave his own reason which made everyone remember the scene from two days ago.
“I’m not saying give them free rein.
Just don’t get in their war.
Let them go to the Blood Keep without any interference.
Let them rescue the holy saint and then let them return safely without a hitch.
If you do anything that contradicts those actions, they will push their way through.
Millions of you would die even if you managed to kill some of them, though I highly doubt you would be able to.
Not without revealing this alliance at least.
I don’t need to remind you what that would ensue now, do I?” Alastair gave a long explanation and received nothing but silence in response.
No one had an answer for him so all they could do was ponder on the things he had said.
And even after ten minutes, they came up with no reply.
“Then it seems it is decided, we just plant the parasite and get this over with.
Once the parasite is planted, evacuate the Blood Keep.
Leave the holy saint there.” Astaroth finally said after a few minutes since no one seemed to have anything to say.
DÃ ghar grumpily nodded while Julianna turned to Alastair and asked a question she was holding back, “What sort of crazy thing you think he might do?” “Knowing him, something none of us would be able to even fathom,” Alastair replied.
“That sounds like a compliment,” Julianna said.
“It is.” Alastair didn’t deny it.
The others turned to look at each other silently.
That sole statement was something none of them could disregard.
It was safe to say that there was no one more intelligent than Alastair at that table and the same person had practically given the highest praise to an enemy.
They didn’t know what they were supposed to make out of it.
Even Astaroth himself was quiet but he couldn’t help but think what should he take that statement as.
“All right.
Let’s everyone do what we need to do.” Astaroth said and ended the meeting.
They all began to leave and Alastair left the space in which the meeting was held as well.
As he came out in the open, he saw that it was starting to get dark.
“It seems it would be a blood moon tonight.
Werewolves would have it tough.” He commented to particularly no one and simply entered his residence.
**** Hundreds of miles away, in the middle of a deep forest, a man with blue eyes grabbed a white-haired human male by his neck and asked, “So you say you can help us?” “As soon as you let go of my neck, sure,” Adrian replied with a smile.
