182: Ancestral fear 182: Ancestral fear Chapter 182 The skill was great.

Too great even.

The efficiency was amazing and the fact that the victims of the attack couldn’t die and were in endless pain was amazing.

Whoever made this skill was thorough through and through.

They even made sure to add the extra function of the victim not dying no matter what.

Just like how I stepped on the guy back there to turn his flesh to meat paste, it turned back to the former state.

So the question stands, why won’t their body just return back to its former state?

Well, that’s where the power of the soul comes in.

Since it was a soul-oriented skill, I would have to use soul power to kill everyone as well as to keep them in the state they were.

Had I used any other power to split them apart, they also would have been able to turn back.

This was a skill of immortality.

Of course, the second skill that reduces pain must be for the very same reason it is right now but if I don’t use it, everyone would be experiencing the pain of splitting apart.

As I said, whoever made this skill was very thorough.

Immortality, but pain couldn’t be helped with so the second skill for it.

This, this gives me another idea.

But, right now I needed to focus on the current problem.

If I didn’t want them turning back into one piece even after I split them apart, I would have to use soul power but the problem was that I didn’t have enough soul power for all of them.

Just these two C class scrubs used one soul point to split both of them.

I could only imagine what the cost for S classes would be.

AyaAkusa doesn’t focus on the body but the soul but I didn’t have any idea what effect mana had on souls.

If, by any chance, mana made souls strong as well, then I would have to use a lot of my soul power for the S classes.

From these low-level blessed, I couldn’t get any idea whether mana affected their souls or not.

I moved on to the others.

No doubt they would have noticed my earlier jump but it was good if they did.

I was wondering if using one soul point on multiple individuals would use less power or not.

But even if it didn’t, I was still willing to use various elixirs to replenish my soul power.

After all, I had an entire night to myself for these guys.

No one would be disturbing me at all.

****** After Adrian left the place, a blonde-haired girl, a striking beauty, so beautiful that her beauty would charm even headstrong men so strongly that they would throw her at her feet.

However, at the moment, the woman had a terrible frown on her face.

The crystal on her neck also displayed the image of the splattered flesh in another place, where a few individuals sitting at the round table watched in horror.

Even these people, who were impervious to killing, who had killed thousands, and fought in many battles, not to mention many wars due to their long life spans couldn’t help but feel a chill of terror rise up their spine.

They had seen everything, from Adrian’s arrival to the death of those people.

However, what truly covered them in fear was the fact that the two people who had been split into hundreds of thousands of pieces were still alive.

Their sliced-up heart was still somehow showing the signs of breathing.

“Is this… Is this something possible?” Julianna, who was the only one oldest there and hence had the most experience and mental capacity under her belt to snap out of her reverie.

The scene before had been overwhelming even for her, someone who had lived for thousands of years but those thousands of years did nothing to hide the terror on her face.

What she had witnessed, was never seen before.

Nor in her lifetime, nor in the lifetime of those before her.

In the last ten thousand years of elven history, there was no such record of such a thing happening.

“No.” Astaroth solemnly replied.

He remembered back to the feeling he had gotten just a few hours earlier.

The meeting that was almost finished had to continue because of the flashes of memories they had seen from their ancestor’ bloodlines.

The images were faint but they contained the memories of an individual.

They couldn’t make out what the individual was, all they knew was the name of the individual, the name their ancestors called him by, and a name they feared the most, “Archangel.” And the source of that feeling came from Bellator.

It wasn’t a coincidence that a large-scale evacuation was issued just a few minutes later after they were assaulted with the memories of their ancestors.

The council asked their spy to stay back and focus on the pillar of light in the Bellator.

However, none of them had expected that the boy they were planning to kill just two weeks ago was the cause of all that.

The bloodline of the ancestors didn’t affect Astaroth and the vampire when they looked at Adrian so he wasn’t the cause of the feeling of deep ancestral fear.

But if it wasn’t Adrian, then why did the source of their ancestral fear come from the same place as Adrian?

That question was what they had in their minds until just a few moments ago.

When they saw Adrian, not only brutally killing two people, but the way he killed them was also something to behold.

And ‘kill’ wasn’t even the correct word.

They were alive.

And that fact scared them the most.

If Adrian could do something like that, then he was dangerous.

Dangerous than anyone else at the moment.

However, as things stood, with the list of allies he had with him, it would be very difficult to kill him.

Not to mention that they were unsure of his power now.

Before, they only thought he was a B rank at most but seeing the earlier display, there was a chance he wasn’t.

He might have been hiding his power and now that there were no witnesses, he was using it freely.

The only time to properly assassinate him was right now when there was no one around him.

However, all they had was one agent there at the moment and it would be impossible to get reinforcement in time.

Not to mention the fact that that one agent could not kill Adrian on her own.

“But what if she can?” The vampire, who had been still trembling just a moment ago because of his ancestral bloodline couldn’t help but say what everyone was thinking.

“NO!” Julianna, of course, refused.

The identity of the agent currently there was more than what they knew, except for Julianna, everyone else thought that she was a simple elf, that was all.

Well, everyone except Alastair who stood behind Astaroth quietly.

Since he hadn’t consumed the ancestral dark pearl yet, he didn’t know what manner of being his father was feeling fear from, but he did know about the rest of the conversation.

He turned to look at the man in the crystal projection who had managed to barely defeat him a few months ago.

Even if Alastair and the young man in the crystal were limited by the artifact, Alastair was sure he didn’t have that much power back then.

Something was different, such growth was impossible.

He, a future apostle, someone blessed by the god of destruction himself could only reach his current state after years of training from the young age of four.

In just twenty years, he had managed to reach from E rank to SS rank and he was on his way to becoming an SSS rank.

He had been through countless battles and that particular battle was something that was still deeply imprinted in his mind.

Even though he was sure he would have won if he wasn’t limited then, then now he was not entirely sure of his winning chances.

And if he was uncertain, then the elf agent present in the Bellator would never be able to go against him.

He would defeat her in a minute, less than a minute, maybe less.

But there was no way, in any scenario, even by using dirty tricks, could that elf win against Adrian at the moment.

While Alastair analyzed all of that based on his knowledge, an intense debate, or a verbal fight would be the correct word, was going on between all of those around the table.

Some said that the elf agent should make a move, while some agreed with Julianna.

And while they were in such an intense debate, their voices came to a complete halt when they heard a voice through the crystal transmission.

“Now, now, that’s a surprise.

What in the world is a pretty little thing like you doing here?” they turned their attention to the screen as Julianna’s face paled when she saw the elf agent held by her neck by the very individual they were just discussing right now.

“What should I do to you now, I wonder?” Adrian said with a smile while the elf agent could only offer futile resistance.
