173: Kalkstein family 173: Kalkstein family Chapter 173 Frozen.

Everyone around me was frozen.

They stood stunned in their places as if they were playing green light red light.

“You sob of a dumb c***,” I said it again just in case they didn’t hear it right the first time.

Turns out, they did.

Of course they did, one of the concerned parties was the son and the other was the brother of the woman I had just cursed.

Obviously, the son and brother didn’t take to words nicely, and the brother, Serian’s mana surged throughout the surroundings.

In response, the wyvern behind me also did the same, overwhelming Serian’s mana without any problem.

The party opposite me took another step back.

They forgot about how I just cursed the lady of their house because right now, there was a monster, against whom, even their own patriarch would struggle was threateningly staring at them with flaring hot mana surging from every scale of it.

The mana was enough to penetrate some of the knights’ mana and melt their armor.

“Look there,” I decided to answer his earlier question while I pointed at the Vermillion family members who were also equally struggling under the enormous mana of Sairal.

When Lambert turned to look at them, I spoke, “Do you think the Vermillion family has the balls to do something like this?

Only I do.

I possess the biggest balls anyone in this world has ever seen and it’s those balls that are going to strangle the life out of you.” Though they didn’t get half of my modern foul language, they did understand what I meant.

The answer was simple, the way the Vermillion family was acting, they didn’t have the guts to go against the Kalkstein family and start a civil war.

But I did.

I had started bigger, deadlier, and meaningless wars before just for the sake of my partners.

And right now, I wasn’t worried to do it again.

Now, all I needed was for the idiots in front of me to make a stupid mistake.

They attack me now, then the imperial family gets involved.

Although I was the one trying to cross the boundaries, I hadn’t stepped into theirs yet.

But if they were to attack me just for taunting them, then they would be the aggressors in this case, not me.

That was what I wanted them to do.

Take the first step.

And then it won’t even come to a war.

Once the emperor heard my side of the story, he would himself storm the place and destroy everything.

“Very well,” Lambert replied.

I was thinking that he was about to make a move but he just said, “The Kalkstein family will remember this humiliation.” He then turned to the knights and loudly said, “Withdraw.

We are going back to the family.” [Well, that backfired] It did indeed.’ It seemed like Lambert Kalkstein had a good head on his shoulders.

As much as I hate to admit it, if, in that short amount of time, he analyzed all of the risks, then it seems he wasn’t as stupid as I thought of him to be.

The knight, Serian tried to protest but he was shot down by Lambert who shot me a glare before getting back into the carriage.

‘Fu*k.’ I cursed inwardly.

Things didn’t go the way I planned once again.

Not that I didn’t consider this, but with the way I provoked them, I was 90% sure they would let it go to their heads.

But they didn’t.

But I had plans prepared for that as well.

I just needed to sort this out before they would get back to their territory.

“Contact all the estates in their path.

Tell them to refuse the Kalkstein family from using their teleporters.

Those who you cannot persuade, just destroy theirs.” I turned to the frozen Arles who still hadn’t fully figured out the turns of events yet.

My instructions snapped him out of his reverie as he said with anger overflowing in his words, “Have you gone mad?

How dare you do all this on the Vermillion family grounds and still have the audacity to ask for such things?!” He yelled at me.

Of course, he did.

I might have sparked a civil war just yet but it won’t come to that.

From the looks of it, the Kalkstein family doesn’t want a war, or they cannot afford to go to war yet.

I need information for that.

But for that, I need to delay this matter as much as I can.

If Lambert arrived before me, then they would prepare appropriate countermeasures to stop any outflow of information.

“Just do as I said,” I said without heeding his words which only seemed to have angered him more.

He was about to yell once again when an overbearing voice interrupted us, “Do as he says.” Cornelius had himself come out along with Sophien only now realizing what I had done, testimony of how wide her eyes were.

She looked at me like she was looking at the biggest madman on earth but I ignored her for now.

Also, her wide eyes reminded me of something from earlier and tempted me very much.

“Do as I have said and have it done perfectly.

In the meantime, I have something to do as well.” I instructed some more as I climbed the back of Sairal who laid down one of his wings for me to make it easier for me to get on.

“Hide your mana,” I instructed Sairal.

Since I gave him a new life, he was bound to me, literally.

It meant he couldn’t deny any of my orders.

But he wasn’t a slave either.

I was to treat him like an equal as bound by my blood.

Sairal concealed his mana and took flight into the sky.

“I will be back by tomorrow,” I said to Sophien as Sairal climbed higher up into the air.

I could hear Cornelius barking orders similar to my instructions.

As for me, I needed leverage and for that, I needed to go to the source of my questions directly.

The Kalkstein estate.

===== Lauren Kalkstein, thirty-nine years old, strutted down the halls of the Kalkstein castle in a stunning red dress that hugged her exquisite figure like it was glued to her.

Still, in no way did it look indecent, on the contrary, it looked so much beautiful that not looking at her would be a sin.

However, looking at her was a short ticket to hell.

No man could see her, no man was allowed to raise his head in her presence.

Those who did, had their eyes gouged out.

Not because her husband was the jealous type.

But because she couldn’t stand the stares of men.

Even her own son and brother weren’t allowed to look at her unless permitted to.

Because of this reason, most of the servants, officials, and guards in the castle were women.

There were some men but they were kept away from her.

As she was walking, one of the female officials came to her and respectfully, but worriedly called out to her, “My lady, there’s some news…” Lauren didn’t stop and asked, “What is it?” The woman kept following after her as she replied, “The word just arrived, two of our B rank dungeons and one A rank dungeons were attacked and cleared last night.

The crew guarding them were found dead.

The same with the parties clearing them.

The dungeons have been cleared while there were no traces left of anything.” The women reported fully, leaving no part unturned behind.

“But…” Lauren said, her voice straight as it could be, without any hitches as she asked, “There is something else, isn’t there?” Everyone knew of Lauren’s abilities so there was no use in hiding information from her.

But the woman wasn’t hiding information, she just didn’t know what it meant.

“The… The dungeons have disappeared.

They don’t exist where they did anymore.” The woman nervously replied.

It didn’t make any sense.

How could dungeons be gone?

How could they be erased?

The woman didn’t know so she told Lauren as it was.

Lauren didn’t say anything to the woman because she knew she was telling the truth.

The matter must be something else but she couldn’t do anything about it right now.

At the moment, the Kalkstein family had other issues to worry about.

Dungeons were a matter of resources, resources they had plenty.

Until they didn’t run out, they had nothing to worry about.

Coming to a decision, Lauren entered the family hall only to smell something.

The disgusting smell of a man.

She hurriedly turned to the pillar and without a warning, she unleashed an attack of fire-attribute to that pillar.

The woman behind Lauren panicked but she didn’t dare move from her spot.

As the dust settled, there was no one in the place.

All the traces and the smell of the man were gone.

She turned to the woman and said, “Gather all men in the plaza.

No need to figure out their motives, just execute them.” A man had dared to come to her sacred haven, of course, she wasn’t going to let it go.

The woman nodded and hurriedly left to deliver her orders.

That day, nineteen men were executed in the plaza without any reason.

As for the real perpetrator, he was a thousand feet above the ground on a wyvern, fiddling with three crystals in his hand.
