The Archangel of Death - Chapter 168
168: Wyvern 168: Wyvern Chapter 168 All I could say after getting my authorities’ perks was, “Wow.” Especially the last one.
I would have been satisfied with the fire resistance effect but the skill I obtained was hella amazing.
Dragon breath was the skill of the dragon race.
It wasn’t a skill of my authority but a skill from another power, however, since they share the same nature, they seemed to have blended together, just like how the phoenix’s regeneration skill seemed to have been absorbed by the light-based skill of regeneration.
Moreover, the rank of the skill was unconfirmed which meant it was higher than the level of the skills in this world.
However, that wasn’t the end of it, there were still some notifications in the panel.
I mentally clicked on them and they expanded.
[The nameless book in your inventory has reacted] [The name of the book will be revealed] [The Book of Osiris] [The book is being scanned] [Three skills have been discovered] [Skill ‘Soul entrapment’ has been learned] [Skill ‘Defiance to pain’ has been learned] [Skill ‘Reversal of inevitable’ has been learned] I sat frozen on the tree branch.
It wasn’t because I obtained something unexpected, it was because I knew what I obtained.
This was the book I obtained from the elven inheritance artifact from the orientation test.
At the time I thought it was an elven book but now I realize it wasn’t.
These were my father’s skills.
The skills of death, the skills I could never learn because I wasn’t the master of death, only my father could do that.
But now they appear before me.
It made no sense because no matter what, there was no way I could learn them but the fact that I could, point to only one thing, the one thing I didn’t have before.
Allison.
I had thousands of questions regarding this, and the only people who could answer them were my father and Allison and both of them weren’t responding.
Seeing no reaction from Allison even after calling her for so long, meant she wasn’t going to answer no matter what.
Sigh… I sighed and let this go for now.
She will talk to me eventually but I knew she would exercise her right to remain silent when I would ask her this question so it was better not to waste time on this.
Besides, I was sure I would get an answer one day anyway.
I decided to skip this and move on to the rest of the notifications because they hadn’t ended yet.
[Skill ‘Seal Reversal’ can now be used] [The nature of ‘Seal Reversal’ is now being revealed] [Seal Reversal: The Archangel] [Effect: Become yourself for five minutes] [Limitations: >Your strength increase would be maximum to your current space allowed >The skill lasts for five minutes >The skill can only be used for a total of three times after which, the skill would disappear from the skill window] Another chock but this time a bit good one.
That was how good the skill I obtained was.
I could become myself, my former self three times.
Of course, there were limitations.
Such as I could only increase my strength to the current limit allowed so consider it like this, if the limit of an artifact is S rank, then that’s the limit to which my strength would arise.
So if I were to use it in this world, my strength would rise up to the Guardian rank, which was the current limit of this world.
It was a pity it could only be done three times but that was fine, no matter what, I had obtained insurance far better and more reliable than any other.
It also made me a bit angry though because if this skill was to open at level 300, then that idiot should have given it to me then, why the hell did he make me waste an authority at level 200 when I so needed the authority of the Phoenix?
Hahhh… Whatever.
It wasn’t like cursing and complaining would do anything right now.
I needed to get out of this dungeon fast because I had an appointment set with an apostle and if I was late, she would probably lose all faith in me.
[Name: Adrian Von Deus Lux LV: 300 [EXP 527,6001,000,000] Age: 17 Race: Human HP: 30403040 MP: 35103510 STR: 519 AGI: 514 END: 1114 PER: 444 INT: 757 CHR: 984 LUCK: 364 AP: 200] My stats were coming along very nicely.
Especially my END, which, even with the 55% Debuff, was around 500 which was S rank at least so I was sure I would be able to bear the attacks of these mutts along with the help of a few potions and the armor.
Done with that, I decided to take things up a notch.
I left the tree where I was and followed one of the lycan groups.
As soon as I came in contact with the group, I instantly killed the minions while I let the big one howl.
Just as it was done, I killed it as well.
[You have killed a lycan (A) x9] [You have obtained 900,000 EXP] [You have obtained 9,000,000 coins] [You have obtained 9 crystals of agility (2)] [You have killed a lycan (A+)] [You have obtained 1,000,000 EXP] [You have obtained 1,000,000 coins] [You have obtained 1 crystal of agility (5)] [You have leveled up] [You are now level 302] [EXP 327,6001,200,000] Since the other lycans were a bit far away, the battle counted as finished, leaving me alone to now prepare.
[Potion of the Giant’s will has been consumed] [Strength +50% for next ten minutes] [Cost 50,000 coins] [Potion of the Wolf’s hunger has been consumed] [Agility +50% for next ten minutes] [Cost 50,000 coins] [You will feel bloodlust while the potion is in effect] [Potion of Stone’s will has been consumed] [Defense +50% for next ten minutes] [Cost 50,000 coins] [Potion of Infinity has been used] [For the next hour, HP and MP will regenerate by 3% every time they are consumed] [Cost 100,000 coins] [Scared blessing] [All stats +40%] [Armor of Israfel (Copy) has been equipped] I was about to be run over by about 250 lycans now.
No matter how good my END was, I wouldn’t be able to take all of their hits.
I would receive damage, no doubt about that, but it would be too minimal, and now that my MP capacity had somewhat increased along with regeneration, I was sure who the winner of this fight would be.
===== Haa… Haa… I inhaled and exhaled hungrily.
My breath was short and multiple wounds in various areas were making my breathing difficult.
I had to take off the armor mid-battle because its effect ended after some lycans died and when I did, the battle became extra hard.
I lost an arm, and an eye to a few slashes.
The left side of my face was clawed out and many other areas received damage.
[Moon shift vitality has been enhanced using MP] [Regeneration effect increased by 500%] As vitality returned to me and pain lessened without any other skill or potion, my condition was restored to prim and proper in a matter of seconds.
[MP potion has been consumed] [MP has been fully recovered] [Hartmann’s suit (damaged) has been stored in inventory] [Hartmann’s suit has been equipped] I stood up straight as the pain ended but the mental fatigue in my head was making me want to sleep.
This battle persisted for an hour or so but it took so much concentration that I couldn’t even count.
I made sure not to use any of my newly gained skills.
‘Dragon breath’ uses stamina which I didn’t have much of due to my soul damage and even the description of ‘Fly’ didn’t mention it, flying also consumes stamina though not to a great extent.
I was dead tired and taking another step was causing me headaches but my smile remained consistent seeing the few sets of notifications in my vision.
[You have killed a lycan (A) x219] [You have obtained 21,900,000 EXP] [You have obtained 219,000,000 coins] [You have obtained 219 crystals of agility (2)] [You have killed a lycan (A+) x47] [You have obtained 47,000,000 EXP] [You have obtained 47,000,000 coins] [You have obtained 47 crystals of agility (5)] [You have leveled up] [You are now level 329] [EXP 1,727,6003,900,000] Twenty-seven levels at once.
If I were to ignore the mental fatigue I currently felt, it was amazing.
Granted that due to the Debuff, I couldn’t feel the massive power change, but I could still feel it a little, it wasn’t much at my level, not to mention it was halved, but still, I was very happy.
This dungeon was just like the bat dungeon for me, where I received massive rewards and level-ups.
[You need to rest] I do but just a little more.
I needed to get out here and to do that, I still needed to defeat the boss monster who strangely hadn’t shown up yet.
Seeing no other choice but to go and look for it, I stored all the bodies in my inventory and began to check up on the dungeon.
I scoured the dungeon and finally, I arrived at the hill area of the dungeon which was the sole high surface area and the only hill.
This was the only place I hadn’t checked yet so I guessed the lycan boss would be here.
I slowly trudged through the area and what I saw stunned me, like really stunned me.
A multitude of corpses, ten times the ones I killed down there, lycans laid dead on the ground, the pile of corpses making me curious.
I stored them on the way as I made my way deeper into the hill.
I finally arrived at the heart of the hill and I finally understood what had happened here.
In front of me lay a wyvern, it was about fifty meters in length and about half in width with its wings open but they weren’t currently.
[Wyvern (S+)] In front of me was a wyvern, the inferior species of the dragon race, often called the messengers of the dragonkin.
Its grey-colored skin was covered in broken scales even though the scales of the wyverns are usually very hard.
But given the amazing number of lycans I picked up dead on the way here, it was no wonder how the wyvern was hurt.
Its rank was an S+ rank and a golden opportunity to raise my level to the grand peak but I couldn’t, I couldn’t even if I wanted to.
Due to my blood, I cannot harm the dragon race without any reason, unless a dragon attacked me first, I couldn’t kill a dragon.
The same went for the inferior races of the dragons.
[HP 13100,000] It was barely alive and if nothing was done, it would die in a matter of minutes.
It was barely holding on as well.
“Grrr…” I heard a low growl from my nine o’clock and turned to see a lycan, bigger than any other lycan, almost two times the size of a normal lycan, growling at me.
It was also severely injured and its rank was S-.
[Magic cannon x100] I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity and shot it with magic cannons while I put my hand on the wyvern and used ‘High heal’.
[You have killed the dungeon boss, Alpha Lycan (S-)] [You have obtained 10,000,000 EXP] [You have gained 10,000,000 coins] [You have gained the rune of power (S-)] [You have gained the rune of agility (S-)] [You have gained the rune of pierce (S-)] [You have gained 10 crystals of agility (10)] [Level up] [You are now level 331] [EXP 3,827,6004,200,000] I gave the rewards I received a glance before I dismissed them.
As much as I was happy about them, I needed to focus on this guy more.
It was losing HP faster than I could restore it.
Seeing no other choice, I fed it the potions as well but even still, its HP was decreasing.
“Krrr…” A small groan left the wyvern’s mouth before it raised its left wing to show me what it was protecting.
An egg.
I didn’t know the full story right now, nor that I know how this wyvern got here.
All I knew was that this wyvern was protecting this egg and now it was entrusting this responsibility to me.
It must have believed that it was over because there was no way to heal it.
Conventional methods, sure there were none but I sighed lengthily because I was obligated to help the dragon-kin and only give up once I had tried everything.
“Don’t worry.
You won’t die so you can protect that little fella on your own.” I said before I reached down deep into my abdomen and touched the energy of life with my mind.
I never failed to save someone before and it was only because of this.
No one, and I mean no one died on my table before.
As long as they had one breath left in them, I could bring them back, thanks to the will of life.
Haa… I sighed again because I was going to lose a good bit of it now.
