I am very sorry but I will have to shift the last two extra chapters to the next week.
I hope you guys don’t mind and can look past this.
That’s it.
Enjoy!
===== Chapter 157 “What did you do?!” Hershey yelled as he slammed me into the wall.
The laughter threatened to escape my mouth as I asked, “What?
You cannot feel the connection anymore?” I glanced at the amulet around his neck with an emerald that had lost its color.
Finally, my laughter broke through when I saw the connection between him and the apostle had been completely broken.
My insides were churning and the mana inside me was wreaking havoc more than I could endure and heal.
Still, I couldn’t help but laugh at the desperation of Hershey.
Thirteen years of his hard work just went down the drain with just one of my moves.
Of course, he was angry.
Seeing me laughing, he once again slammed me into the wall and let go of me.
I fell to the ground and began to take deep gasps as pain assaulted me heavily.
I couldn’t breathe and my lungs felt like they were on fire.
I was pretty sure that one of my ribs had broken and pierced my left lung.
My heart also felt constricted and my body screamed in pain due to mana infiltration.
Needless to say, I was very much near death.
I could use AyaAkusa to cut the mana but that would use soul power and I had none of it currently.
I use AyaAkusa and the price comes from my soul which would also mean that the DeBuff would only increase.
I was already in a dire condition due to my soul damage.
There was no way I was letting it damage anymore.
Physical pain, although hellish, was way better than soul damage.
My HP would continuously reach critical after just a few seconds.
Heal, regeneration and HP potions were almost useless in my current condition.
And in that condition, I was kicked in my stomach again.
Another bout of HP went into critical.
My spine was damaged and I lost feeling waist down.
Still, I laughed.
“Haha!” “What did you do?!” He once again yelled but I only laughed in return.
He picked me up once again like a limp doll that could only laugh on record.
“Go ahead!
Do it!
Kill me!” I finally shouted before I moved my burnt suit aside and exposed my chest, right above my heart, “But he and I are now connected.
You kill me, you kill him.” Hershey couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
His eyes widened to the limit as he considered killing me or not but before he could mull over it anymore, I was once again dropped on the ground.
The only difference was that Hershey’s arm came along with me.
His arm was separated from his body and a man in a white robe stepped in front of me with a sword in his hand.
As for Hershey, he seemed to have finally realized that his arm had been cut off.
I decided to focus on myself and used the element of life along with everything else.
Soon enough, the damage began to lessen because I had used the life element to guide the mana to my abdomen where a hungry monster named the element of death was waiting.
I was finally no longer under the damage of mana.
I used the life element and exhausted almost one strand entirely to heal my spine which restored the feeling in my waist.
My HP was still low so the use of skills was still necessary.
The pain didn’t end completely but I could at least sit up straight.
As I did, my gaze went to Derrell first and foremost.
He was still awakening at the moment.
As for my assailant, He was on his knees, grasping his arm and losing copious amounts of blood.
Lucius stood without any movement a little away from Hershey.
He took a step forward but I hurriedly said, “Don’t kill him.” He turned to me with a skeptical questioning gaze.
I didn’t bother to say anything and simply focused on healing myself.
I turned to the other kings and queens to see them being held back by Sirius who was very angry at the moment.
Or at least that’s how he appeared to be.
I turned my focus back to Lucius and said in a loud voice, “UNCLE!
The seven kingdoms have declared intentions of war with the Cortum empire.” Lucius didn’t say anything and pulled out a crystal from his pocket and said, “So he says.” Silence crept up in the arena as an overbearing voice flowed from the crystal, “I will be there by evening.” “Hahaha… HAHAHA… HAHAHAHA!!!” Unbridled laughter left my mouth and resonated throughout the arena.
It was safe to say that the tournament was now over.
After all, a war could be over the horizon.
===== As much as war-mongering I was, I wasn’t the one to forget the bigger picture.
Granted the seven kingdoms were a hurdle in my path but all they wanted was their own prosperity.
Similarly, the empire was in their way so they were simply trying to get rid of it to proper.
It was nothing different from what I was doing so it didn’t make them an enemy of mine.
They weren’t involved with the other nations so they weren’t villains of this novel at all.
They were just heroes from another perspective.
And not to mention that I had good relations with the next generation of their kingdoms.
Layla was a good friend that made Zefton an ally as well.
Derrell was now my servant and as for Sasha, it was safe to say we had an amicable relationship.
That only left me Eric and Sera but they weren’t my blood enemy either so all in all, I didn’t want a war.
I just wanted to establish a position with everyone else.
I was the one in charge.
That was what I needed them to know and imprint that phrase deep into their souls.
They weren’t innocents, but their people didn’t deserve to get involved because of their mistakes either.
So the most amicable way to solve this issue was to forget everything.
Go back to the way things were.
Of course, that would naturally include me giving them Derrell back but there needed to be a price for this peace conference, right?
Currently, every one of the humanity leaders table was sitting at the table.
The seven kingdoms, Monica, Sirius, and Cornelius.
Me and Lucius sat at the corner of the room along with a few others which included my father-in-law Stephen, Desmond, Michelle, and the butler of the Vermillion family.
Hershey was sitting at the table with an angered expression whereas the rest of the kings and queens seemed frustrated about the current state of events.
One thing was for sure, the seven kingdoms might become six kingdoms soon.
Hershey was impulsive and hot-headed, not qualities the rest of the rulers needed in their little group.
I, the instigator of everything was under the scrutinizing gaze of the people sitting next to me except for Lucius who seemed uninterested in everything.
The door to the room opened and the one to enter was none other than the sole emperor of this world himself.
In no way he looked like an old man if his hair wasn’t there to point it out.
He wasn’t alone though, his knight, the commander of the silver knights, Bayren was also with him.
The atmosphere in the room changed.
The point to be noticed was that humanity only had two guardians and both of them were in seclusion which officially made Orion and the party the strongest in the world.
Orion calmly took his seat and everyone at the table, even Sirius, Monica, and Cornelius waited with bated breaths for the first words out of Orion.
“So,” Orion finally said after a few minutes and once everyone was on the edge, he simply asked, “Who am I invading again?” Seriously, this old man.
Is that any way to start a peace conference?
“Ahem!
Your Majesty, please refrain from suggestive remarks.” Bayren admonished Orion slightly and just as I began to appreciate him slightly, he added, “An attack is better done by surprise.
Let us close our eyes and play the point game.” Crazy fu*kers.
“That’s a good idea!” Orion exclaimed gleefully and closed his eyes and said, “Let’s begin.” “Please stop!” I had no choice but to interject or these old men might start a war while having fun.
If they were just messing around, I would have let them.
Unfortunately, they were serious about everything.
“What is it, Adrian?
Do you want to play too?
Fine, you can go first?” Orion said with a benevolent expression.
“Please do not insinuate anything.
This is a peace conference.” I corrected him to which he replied, “Peace only comes after war.
Let us have one.” Now I understand why I was sent to this family.
It was because of this quality that resembled my blood to a great extent.
Still, meaningless wars bear no fruit.
And there was another matter at hand.
“Allow me to begin by mentioning that the vampire nation is gathering at their border city under the pretense of training.
They have a strong army of five thousand out of which, two thousand are elites.
I don’t think I need to tell you all about this because you also have extensive networks spread out to gather such intel.
And since you already know, I would also like to mention that now is the worst time for a competition.
So, let us keep a peace conference as it is and move on the matters at hand.” I began with a strong subject that garnered attention from everyone and especially, made the old man back out.
“You make a very good point.
Very well, I will let you represent me at this conference.” Orion said and crossed his arms on his chest.
I nodded and said, “Now, allow me to tell you all what intel I have about the other races.
Would you be willing to listen, all prejudices aside?” No one spoke up which was a tacit agreement from everyone.
“Now, my intel has found out that the vampires aren’t alone.
They have teamed up with dwarves, gnomes, dark elves, demons, and the Merfolk.
The Merfolk are the threat of sea right now but given how many different races are in the sea, if they could somehow survive on land, they would make a massive army.” I didn’t mention the elves because I still had business with them.
And also if I mentioned them, Rafael might do something stupid given his history with them.
“Is there any proof to your claims?” Ronald asked, obviously not believing me.
“No there is not.
But you will understand when the vampires cross your borders.
After all, the first in their path are the seven kingdoms, am I wrong?” I raised my own point.
My knowledge came from the novel so obviously, I had no proof to give them.
But making them aware of the threat was a great motivator in their situation.
“If we are willing to believe you, what is the agenda we should be focusing on?” Monica asked.
“A very good question.” I sucked up to my mother-in-law a little and replied, “It’s simple.
We strengthen the borders of the Quantico Kingdom.” Quantico Kingdom was the kingdom of Domina so she would be the first one to go.
“How?” Cornelius asked.
“By each one of us sending an expert.
I suggest sending Lucius von Deus Lux from the Empire.” I suggested.
“That won’t be enough.
Even if we were to send the same experts, the vampire king is almost a Divine rank being.
If he is involved, no one would be able to do anything.” Ronald once again raised a point.
This just proved that he was indeed the brain of the seven kingdoms.
“Yes.
That would be true.
But it won’t even come to a fight.
We just need to show them that we are aware of their intentions.” I simply replied.
“So you intend to create inner turmoil in their alliance?” Ronald questioned.
I smiled which was all the answer everyone needed.
