154: Sophien’s status 154: Sophien’s status Chapter 154 “I cannot leave you alone with him, my lady.” Rachel protested to remain in the room where I and Sophien had just entered along with Rose.

Rachel protested greatly when Sophien told her to leave since we wanted to have a private discussion.

“It’s fine.

He won’t do anything to me knowing you’re outside.” Sophien quelled her worries by giving an explanation but Rachel wasn’t having any of it, “No, my lady.

I won’t be leaving you here.” Geez~ why is she acting like this?

Who does she think I am, an assaulter?

[Yes] [Alicia and Sophien] ‘That was before me.

That was Adrian.’ I protested.

[Given your track record, it is better to leave a woman alone with Adrian than you] ‘Why?’ [That way she can at least protect herself] [No woman can protect herself from you] ‘It’s not like I attack them.’ [Worse] [You seduce them] ‘Ha!

That cannot be more wrong.’ [Is it?] [How long did it take you to seduce Sophien?] ‘It’s a casual relationship!’ [Is it?] ‘Fine, I’m a womanizer.’ I ended the debate at this point because I didn’t want to be involved in useless banter.

I wasn’t going to win from a woman in a debate no matter what and I was willing to agree with some of what she said.

[That you seduce women?] ‘Which can also be seen that way as they cannot help but fall for me.’ [Sure] ‘Yeah.

Let’s just agree to disagree.’ While I was busy with Allison, Sophien had somehow convinced Rachel to leave us who gave me a threatening look as she went out.

No doubt she would kill me if I tried anything funny.

And not that I could anyway because the pink-haired beauty standing next to me would be the first to fry me before Rachel could even get to me.

“She needs to go too,” Sophien said pointing at Rose.

Please don’t do that and make her any angrier.

She’d kill me.

I prayed internally but there was no preventing the clash between these two.

“I’m not leaving.” Rose blatantly said.

“Of course you are.

We have a sensitive business to discuss that not even a wife is allowed to hear.” Sophien insisted and even used the ‘classified’ card which would have helped her in any other situation but in the case of a jealous and angry wife, not one bit.

“I’m not leaving.” Rose remained consistent.

“You have to.” Sophien wasn’t listening either.

“Make me,” Rose said as tendrils of lightning emitted from her.

Sophien also touched her dagger and said with burning determination in her eyes, “As you wish.” [If you don’t interfere, they will clash] [And Rachel will know which would lead to the revelation of the matter] [And she will kill you] ‘Yes, thank you very much for reminding me.’ “Okay, ladies calm down,” I said which stopped both ladies and they turned to look at me.

Once I had their attention, I turned to Rose and said, “Rose, I promise we won’t do anything but business.

Please trust me.” Rose stared me in the eyes for a moment before she calmed down and left the room.

Once she did, Sophien asked with a mischievous smile, “Just business?” “Unfortunately, yes.

I tend to keep my promises.” I replied to which, her smile even became more devious as she placed one hand on her shirt and unbuttoned the first button while she said in a hushed voice, “Even if I do this?” Oh, yes.

Even if she were to do that, I wasn’t going to be tempted.

Seeing me not budging, she moved to the second button.

She must have noticed my burning determination to keep my promise to keep tempting me.

[More like the burning gaze that she wants to test you more] [How long you last in other words] I chose to ignore that remark and focused on the second button, to show her that I was an honest person of course.

And one by one, all her buttons were undone and I couldn’t help but gulp at the sight only to be disappointed.

She was wearing an armor underneath.

“At least hide your disappointment.” She said.

I shrugged and said, “Get to the point.

You know I’m not going to give in no matter what.” “Sure you won’t.” She replied and buttoned her shirt back.

If all it took was an unparalleled beauty to tempt me, I wouldn’t have had such a power at my disposal at all.

“I don’t think I need to tell you what I need.

All I require is to be treated equally even if the current relationship between you and me is more like a mistress and an unfaithful husband.” Sophien began and said all of it in one breath.

“Which one am I?” I asked with a quirked eyebrow that made her chuckle but our current situation was a bit tricky.

[A dilemma] Of course.

If I do what she says, it cements that she was indeed my mistress and I had no intention of making her any more than that.

However, if I don’t want to agree with her, I wouldn’t be giving her what she wants but what she needs.

I smiled and took the ring of infinity from my inventory.

I received this as a reward but given that I already had the stronger and more efficient power, the inventory, it was useless to me.

And it was bound so it could only be used by me.

But there was a loophole with that.

If Sophien became my party member, she could also wield this ring.

“This should tell you what you mean to me,” I said as I threw the ring at her.

She took it and examined it with mana.

She found nothing and looked at me strangely to which I said, “You have to say ‘Yes’ before that.” She squinted her eyes for a while and said, “Sure.

Yes.” [“Sophien Vermillion” is now a party member] Instantly as she did so, she could feel the ring and yes, it didn’t require mana.

Anything related to me and the system didn’t require mana so of course, any reward I got were also things that wouldn’t require mana.

For the things bound to the system, just an intent was enough.

Of course, some skills required power and such power was MP hence why I hadn’t assigned any system skills to any of my party members.

The ring was empty so she wouldn’t find anything in there but it was thrice the size of the pouch I had given the girls.

Once she was done, a slight blush crept up to her face which she instantly suppressed and said, “I should leave now since it’s very late now.” She hurriedly stood up and went out the door.

I didn’t stop her for now because we both needed to think of the future.

She needed to decide what to do with our relationship and I needed to decide how I would survive the upcoming crisis.

[And there is still Asmara] ‘And there is still Asmara.’ [Want my uptake on this?] ‘Might as well.’ [Chances of survival with the current conditions] [99.121087%] ‘Which can be roundabout to 100%’ [Exactly] ‘At least hide the glee in your voice while delivering such news.’ [Not a chance] ‘Bitxh’ ===== The morning came and I slept for only three hours.

Given my current condition, I do much and I would be losing stamina too fast so it was a good thing that I wasn’t going against someone too strong today.

Of course, if we don’t count an S ranker who might kill me before I could fulfill my plans.

But if somehow I could, it would be awesome.

As a servant who was also an apostle, I doubt anyone in the empire would be able to match my position with four apostles as allies.

Sophien was as good as an ally, then there was Layla who was a good friend and because of her, Zefton was as good as in the bag, and then last but not least, Derrell who I will be making an ally today.

I wouldn’t say that I have any feelings towards Sasha so I doubt she would become my enemy.

All that was left were the protagonist and his childhood friend who I was pretty much sure hated me.

Finally, there was the saint, my lovely soon-to-be wife as soon as she was legal, Alicia.

Of course, I don’t need to worry about the legality but it was more of a moral matter than a legal matter anyway.

Anyway, I left for the academy with Rose in tow who seemed happy with me for some reason.

She was smiling and although I was curious, in no way did I have any intention of mentioning it.

What if her mood changed to defy me?

What if she thought that I had pointed that out because I thought she had forgiven her?

She would change back very soon so it was good to let that good mood simmer for as long as I could.

Other than that, the contestant room was very empty with just Layla, Derrell, Rose, and me.

Derrell didn’t seem to be in a good mood.

No doubt he would have received quite a bit of grilling because of his match yesterday.

Although he won, it was more like mercy than an actual win so it didn’t matter much to the image of the kingdoms.

The stage was repaired and currently, three people stood on it while the arena remained quiet to listen to what these three men had to say.

One of them was Sirius, the other one was Desmond and the last person was Ronald.

Sirius began his speech.

“Yesterday, we witnessed incredible youngsters who displayed the amazing abilities of the younger generation of this era.

Irrefutably, each and every one of them was extraordinary in every aspect and they provided enough proof to everyone here that they were really prepared to be handed down the responsibilities of this world.” “Remember this youngsters, just because you didn’t make it to the finals, doesn’t mean you are not special.

Each and every one of you is special and you will have plenty of opportunities to prove that.

No commander is without a soldier and if you do not take the role of the soldier, these special winners with the titles of commanders hold no importance on the battlefield alone.” “So be proud.

Just because you haven’t showcased your abilities here, could simply mean that you are not ready for that yet.

You may think I am trying to console you but that is entirely wrong.” Sirius turned to glance at Desmond before he said, “I have witnessed a young ordinary man with no talent and a student with no extraordinary record or wins to his name, become a head teacher at my own academy.” “If he can, then there is no way you cannot as well.

Work hard, like the young student did and you will find yourself at the top along with the best.

Keep fighting and keep improving.

Life does not end with a loss; it only means that you have to try harder next time.” To be honest, that was a good speech.

One focused on not the winners but those who were bummed about not making it here.

That was the approach of a good teacher and I liked it very much.

To tell your student that just because he failed one exam doesn’t mean he was bound to fail others.

After the speech, there was a brief break during which, I made my way to the VIP room.

Currently, I had three allies in the VIP room and I wanted them to hold their positions and not interfere because what I was about to do today would implicate them as well.

However, one of my allies had the perfect reason to interfere.

After all, I was family.

“Morning, uncle.” I greeted the man sitting in the corner of the room with a bored look on his face.
