The Archangel of Death - Chapter 144
144: Letting out the animal 144: Letting out the animal Chapter 144 Before my eyes, the shapeshifter turned into Asmara and while I was distracted by a view of a lifetime, I saw a water cannon form in front of the shifter but that wasn’t all.
A red layer enveloped the water cannon which I suspected to be Asmara’s skill.
If I remember correctly, wasn’t Asmara’s skill sort of like enhancing the damage of her skills?
Crap!
I tried to dodge but the tucker controlled the cannon and struck me straight on my right shoulder which threw me across the arena once again.
The extent of damage was unknown for now and all I could do was conjure the ‘Celestial guard’ behind me to lower the fall damage.
[Warning] [Critical damage received] [The user has been afflicted by the effect ‘Bleed’] [You will lose 10 HP every second] [Your HP is below 10%] [Emergency healing in progress] [Clotting process enhanced] [The effect ‘Bleed’ has been lessened] [You will 5 HP every second] ‘Please tell me you got that.’ I asked Allison as I used an HP potion along with ‘High heal’ and ‘Moon shift vitality’.
To be honest, I wasn’t feeling much pain because there was nothing left to feel pain of.
[I don’t think you should be worried about that] [But I did] [The sight was something else] ‘Right?’ [Don’t move] [The ‘bleed’ is still in effect] ‘Not going anywhere.’ I could see the shapeshifter slowly walking towards me while I also saw the countdown for its evolution resuming.
This guy was very difficult to deal with given all the different abilities it had.
So, to summarize it, my right arm along with my shoulder was gone.
The system’s emergency healing stopped the bleeding to some extent but even then, the bleeding effect was very fast even with the consumption of three HP potions.
Not to mention my HP was already 1200, and I had lost three hundred health points by the time I could even use the skills.
The ‘Moon shift vitality’ healed the area around the shoulder so the bleeding had almost stopped but even with my health full due to the potions, my wound wasn’t healing that fast.
I perched myself up with my left arm to see the shapeshifter still from my spot which just signifies how far I was thrown.
There were a little less than five minutes left until its evolution finished and I was down to an arm.
No matter how good regeneration was, it would never be able to heal an entire arm still under the effect of ‘bleeding’ in under an hour and that was if I only focused my MP on it.
“That was something,” I said.
There was quite a distance between us but I was sure it could hear me as it mimicked me once again, “That was something.” “You know; we would have been good friends had you not been a weaponized killer,” I said which it repeated once again, word by word, tone by tone.
I chuckled as I said, “”But here we are, fighting to the death.”” However, this time, we both spoke at the same time.
It had gotten to the point where it could understand my facial expressions and emotions along with the structures of my ligaments to deduce how my lips would move to say a word.
[It has gotten to the point where it’s terrifying] ‘Trust me.
That’s not terrifying.’ It wasn’t.
I stood up even though the pain crashed on me with movement, I still stood up.
Suddenly, the appearance of Asmara didn’t help anymore.
There was one thing I was hoping to not try but given the circumstances, it seems like this is the only option I have now.
Be a reckless animal.
====== Asmara saw the condition Adrian was in and ignoring the rest, she also began to run in his direction.
Sasha didn’t let her be alone and ran after her.
Before they could be halfway through, Adrian stood up after saying some things.
They couldn’t hear it very well but suddenly, their bodies froze.
They didn’t want to take another step or it was almost as if something was stopping them.
Sasha instinctively took a step back while Asmara wanted to move forward with all her might but her body didn’t allow it.
They just stood there, frozen, and could only see the next events unfold like bystanders.
The shapeshifter advanced, unfazed by whatever was emitting out of Adrian because either it couldn’t feel it or it was not scared to face Adrian even with that.
Adrian remained in his spot, staring coldly at the shapeshifter.
The shapeshifter on the other hand didn’t stop and walked straight up to Adrian.
The time for its evolution was only less than two minutes now but it stopped its evolution because it knew it didn’t need to because killing the human before it wouldn’t require so.
They stood in front of each other, staring into each other’s eyes when Adrian grinned, his white teeth and handsome face not doing anything about the sinister expression on his face, “Since you’re so smart, try to read through this.” This time, the shapeshifter didn’t repeat after Adrian or it was more like it couldn’t.
It couldn’t pick up on any signs about what Adrian was going to say.
His lips moved like he was about to say B but the word that left his mouth was V.
Before the shapeshifter could get even more confused, Adrian jumped at him with the last remaining hand on its shoulder, latched onto its collarbone.
The shapeshifter was only slightly pushed back but before it could get out of the lock, many spheres of light began to fall on him hindering his vision along with a significant amount of damage.
It was about to counterattack when it felt something it hadn’t felt from the fight before.
The human before it bit into its collarbone and bit a bit too deep to tear off the flesh from the collarbone.
The shapeshifter screamed in agony and tried to push the human away but the human instead latched onto its arms instead and moved behind it, locking his arm behind the shapeshifter and grabbing it from its neck.
Adrian once again bit into the collarbone from behind like a vampire.
The shapeshifter screamed while many water spheres came to form and attacked Adrian in the back but Adrian didn’t stop biting.
Instead, he dug even deeper and deeper to the point, that the collarbone itself was now visible without the cover of skin and flesh.
[High heal] Adrian simply used the skill to bear through the pain and kept biting into the shapeshifter.
He had now dug deep enough with his teeth to almost be in the territory of the chest bone.
The shapeshifter kept screaming and kept attacking Adrian.
One of the attacks landed on Adrian’s eye and dug deep into it, destroying it completely but Adrian didn’t stop.
Soon, just before the chest bone, his teeth came into contact with something hard.
It wasn’t a bone because all the bones were crushed by his teeth but this wasn’t.
The shapeshifter panicked, an expression that hadn’t appeared on its face before.
It struck Adrian with its elbow from the back and shattered Adrian’s ribs while with its left arm, it scratched at Adrian’s face, peeling off the flesh.
Yet, even through all that, Adrian didn’t stop biting into the Shapeshifter and grabbed the round crystal with his teeth and pulled it out with his mouth.
“NO!!!!!” The shapeshifter screamed and did everything in its power to shake it off but Adrian was latching on pretty hard.
Finally, the remaining arm of Adrian was also damaged which loosened the grip on the shapeshifter’s neck, allowing it to throw Adrian off.
Adrian let the momentum carry him and stored the crystal he had pulled out in his inventory, for it to be forever lost to the shapeshifter.
“NO!
NO!!
NO!!!” The shapeshifter yelled again and again while clutching its neck but there was no use.
It didn’t stop bleeding and from the looks of it, it couldn’t shapeshift anymore, or at least it couldn’t do so willingly.
The red-striking hair of Asmara turned black and then half white.
The face turned a darker shade taking a brown appearance and then pink and then a mixture of many colors.
One arm elongated while the other one shortened like that of a child.
The ears were elongating like an elf.
The waist began to twist and turn and took many shapes of different sizes out of which some weren’t even human shapes.
Soon, another change began to take place, the face of the shifter began to melt from one side as if the wax was melting.
The screams were there but those screams didn’t have any power behind them, as if someone had turned off the volume or the vocal chords of the body were different.
[You have changed a massive fate] [Asmara is alive] [Changes will be made to the eighth volume] [You have gained a massive amount of experience] [Please wait while the experience calculates] [You have amassed an amazing amount of life energy] [The will of life is satisfied with you] [Level up] [Level up] […] [.] As Adrian lost consciousness from the massive amount of pain and dismembered body parts, he saw the melted body of the shapeshifter into a puddle from his only one functioning eye and a girl running in his direction while saying his name but he couldn’t hear it quite well.
