138: Dungeon deformity (2) 138: Dungeon deformity (2) Chapter 138 After this little accident, we all decided to stop our progress further into the dungeon and just rest for a while since everyone was exhausted, including me.

I was terribly exhausted than the rest of the students and my exhaustion wasn’t just physical.

The good thing was I was recuperating at a fast pace and not only that, my severed foot was almost regenerated.

“I still cannot believe it even when it’s happening in front of me,” Asmara commented about my regenerating foot.

I said nothing in return about it and handed her a piece of meat that I had just cooked.

I purchased the protective bubble and put it around us.

If we were going to rest, undisturbed rest was way better than otherwise.

Also because almost half a day in, many were starting to get hungry not to mention they would need the energy for the fights ahead so I decided to cook.

Just a tiny problem with that, the fragrance of my cooking would attract even the devil himself from the underworld and these ants were no exception.

Hence the bubble to block stops the delicious smell of my cooking from leaking and attracting every ant here.

“Wow!” Asmara didn’t hold back and praised with a full mouth that actually made her cuter or maybe it was just me because I was a man.

[It’s just you] ‘Thank you very much.’ I wouldn’t say my food was orgasmic because that is all bullsh*t but I could confidently say that once tasted, one would become addicted to my cooking so I held back on my skills and made it just delicious.

Not more or less than that.

Sasha was looking at me strangely while I cooked but I ignored her and focused on the matter at hand.

The bubble won’t last for long because of the ants surrounding us and attacking us and if, a big if but still a possibility, the ranks of these ants increased again, then were all dead.

That was why I was only waiting for my foot to heal and then we would resume.

This issue wasn’t only noticed by me as one of the students said, “We should just wait here.

The academy will surely know something is wrong and they will send help.

We should just stay in this artifact.” A good idea but not for this situation where the rank of the ants was still increasing.

“Not possible.

We need to find the boss and kill it before its rank increases anymore.” I outright rejected the idea which wasn’t well received by the three extras who I didn’t know.

“And who are you decide that?” One of them said.

“I am the one to decide that seeing you are in my protective artifact and eating my food.” I quipped like a middle-aged dad who chastised his children.

“And if you aren’t satisfied, you can leave,” I said while pointing outside the circle where some ants were attacking one side of the artifact.

He gulped and didn’t say anything in return.

“Do you think we can kill it?

The boss I mean.” Asmara asked as she nibbled on a chicken wing.

Cute.

“I think if we hurry, we can, together and with the help of some artifacts in my subspace,” I replied to assure her.

There were no artifacts in my inventory that could get us through this predicament and there was no such item in the shop that could help with the current revenue of shop gold that I had.

In other words, we would have to struggle a lot to defeat this boss and the problem was, I didn’t even know who the boss was.

And right now, there was another question that had been plaguing my mind.

If the rank of the monsters was so high, how did Asmara in the original novel survive?

In the novel, she was the sole survivor of this incident but even with my involvement which might have increased the difficulty by a bit, she couldn’t have made it out of this place alive even with her talent and skills.

And I presumed the answer to that would be found in the boss room of this dungeon.

We finished eating and by then, after consuming about twelve potions, I had used my regeneration skill ‘Moon shift vitality’ repeatedly to regenerate my foot and replenish my health.

I was still far away from prime condition but at least I wasn’t out of breath right now so I was sure I would be able to handle it.

“Ready,” I said as I prepared to remove the shield which would also mean letting these fifteen prepared ants attack us.

The group nodded in defensive formation.

I used another 500 MP to empower them and I myself prepared as much as I could.

Just as the shield disappeared, I slashed my dagger at the ant closest to me but I failed to kill it in one strike.

[Monster Ant: Rank A-] ‘Oh fu*k.’ My sh*t luck didn’t help me once again.

[Magic canon] A rain of magic cannons fell on all of the ants to halt their advance by even a little bit as I frantically slashed with my sword and dagger at the same time to kill the ant I was engaged with.

Occasionally, it would succeed in hitting me and I would lose a lot of HP but that’s what the restorative potions were for.

Luckily, this guy was the only one A- rank here so I managed to kill a few with the magic canon, and the rest were weakened and killed by my team members.

I finally killed the A- rank ant after cutting off all its limbs and using the HP potions five times and the MP potion eleven times.

It was pathetic but at least these potions didn’t have a limit like the Stamina potion which by the way, I was out of.

I was out of breath, totally and it was truly humiliating.

Still, I killed the guy with great effort and once again, we all stopped to recover a little.

[You have slain a B- rank ant x2] [You have obtained 20 Exp] [You have obtained 200,000 coins] [You have slain a B+ rank ant x5] [You have received 5000 EXP] [You have obtained 500,000 coins] [You have slain an A- rank ant] [You have obtained 10,000 Exp] [You have obtained 1,000,000 coins] [EXP 1854028000] I didn’t even level up and I doubt I would have even if I had been the one to kill all the ants.

My condition was worsening every day and it was becoming increasingly harder to fight this fatigue that would crash onto me after every fight.

“We recover for five minutes and then we move.” I said while I cast ‘High heal’ on all of them because just like me, they didn’t look so good.

After five minutes, we continued our advance.

We came across many ants but not a swarm like before and not another A- rank one either so even though it was very difficult for us, we made it to the boss room.

We had to run away sometimes or sometimes, we had to avoid the ants and move forward.

Now usually, I wouldn’t have ignored all that EXP but I wasn’t in a condition to fight them and the others weren’t willing to take a risk with me.

[EXP 14029000] [You are now level 229] I managed to level up but that wasn’t good news in the least.

I had to spend more on potions and recovery items that I would gain from killing those ants.

At least I was gaining something.

As for our condition, it was the worst.

At least mine was but the rest weren’t doing so good either.

We were all covered in blood, dirt, and the smell of ant intestines.

Even the cute Asmara didn’t look so cute right now.

And we still had this thing to deal with.

An ant stronger than all the other ants, just below the ant queen.

“Asmara, Sasha,” I called both of them and they turned to me, “I need you both to say yes.” I had decided to party with them.

I didn’t party with them before because I didn’t want to go through this trouble and also because I wasn’t willing to share my level-up perk with them but right now, I had no choice.

I needed the party system to keep them both in check and make sure they didn’t die.

[Asmara Hayez level 189 has entered your party] [Sasha Meynor level 192 has entered your party] Whoa!

It seems they grew quite a bit from all the battles in this dungeon because that wasn’t their rank at the mana sensitivity test.

Well, whatever.

They should consider themselves lucky that I have decided to party with them and they would be reaching their limit today for the next breakthrough.

“I’m going in now,” I said as I slowly entered the last cavern.

Unlike the other fancy dungeons, there was no door here but the boss still couldn’t come out of there so it was safe.

As I entered, I saw an ant slightly bigger than the ants we had faced so far.

[Ant queen’s guard: Rank A] “Fu*k.” I couldn’t help but say that out loud.
