The Archangel of Death - Chapter 123
123: Preparing Fodder 123: Preparing Fodder Chapter 123 “Kugh!!!” Adrian was thrown against a wall, bloodied to the bone as he tried to collect himself.
It wasn’t to the point that he was dying but it didn’t seem like it was nothing serious as well.
“I wonder how something so weak like you got this far.” A croaky voice fell into his ears as Adrian tried to regain his senses that were dulled after the last hit.
“Haha.” Despite being in pain, Adrian let out a small chuckle as he replied, albeit difficultly but his eyes remained full of life, “You sack of bones can’t determine my limit buddy.” The owner of the voice was a knight covered in dark armor, not even his eyes could be seen through the thick and heavy armor yet the agility displayed by the knight was far faster than someone could imagine.
“I doubt even gods can save you right now.” “Gods?” Adrian said with a small chuckle again as he replied, “Don’t make me laugh.
What can a bunch of prisoners do to help me?” He then moved his hand and continued to speak, “Besides, it’s not like I need their help.” Adrian’s hands began to shine but before he could do anything, the knight moved, and in the blink of an eye, appeared in front of Adrian.
He grabbed Adrian from his neck and hoisted him in the air as he said, “No trick can help you escape right now.” Adrian’s vocals weren’t restricted so although it was a little difficult to speak, he still said, “Escape?
Why in the world would you think I want to escape?” The glow on his hands that had disappeared, appeared again but this time in his eyes.
His already white eyes turned whiter as he said, “You know what you shouldn’t have done?
You should have never let me talk.” The glow began to emit from his eyes and not only that, his mouth began to emit it as well as he opened his mouth to speak, “Let’s see how strong your darkness is against the pure life.” A piercing screeching sound came from Adrian but for the undead knight, it appeared from all over its surroundings.
For it, it was even worse since it felt like its existence was being torn apart.
It screamed but it couldn’t scream.
It tried to flail, move, and beg, something it never did until it became an undead, but it still wanted to beg for its life.
[You have used an A- rank opponent] [You have obtained 10,000 EXP] [You have obtained 1,000,000 coins] [You have leveled up] [EXP requirement has been set to default] Amidst the flurry of notifications, Adrian passed out while his HP regenerated slowly.
====== Fuck.
It was entirely my fault for thinking the strongest mob in the dungeon would be the B- ranked undeads.
I was proven sorely mistaken when I thought the end of the dungeon was upon me when I trekked the stairs of the second floor, expecting to end up in the boss room.
Little did I know, the floors continued.
On the third floor, I found a knight-like undead, sitting nonchalantly, like the world didn’t matter to it.
the problem with this one was that it wasn’t mindless.
This meant that the moment it took notice of me, it jumped at me unlike the undeads on the lower floors that would let me graciously get closer to them.
Dealing with this guy with my stats was very difficult even after using all my cards.
In the end, I had to use what I was saving up for the Lich on this guy.
My collected element of life.
I completely exhausted it to kill this guy.
The good news was that I managed to reach level 10 because of him and it defaulted the EXP requirement to the normal.
Otherwise, killing an entire floor full of undead beings with a B+ rank, and all it did was raise my level by three and even that barely.
[You are in no condition to continue] True that.
I have consumed a fu*k ton of potions and their usage has started to take a toll on me.
Not to mention the fact that I have been in this gloomy space for seven days and it’s starting to irritate me.
Also, the trump card that I had prepared for the Lich has been used by this fu*ker.
I’m cursing quite a lot today.
Still, it’s not all bad.
Now that my level limit has reset, I can continue with farming like I usually do.
It means killing a few more of these knights would land me quite a few levels.
Only if there are more of them.
I was caught unprepared by this one but I’m sure the others won’t stand a chance against me.
[Who are you kidding?] ‘Who am I kidding?’ I gonna get my a*s handed to me surely if I continue in this state.
That leaves me with only one choice.
Leave, prepare, and then return.
This is my seventh day in the dungeon which means combined, it has been thirteen days since I came to the Caligulas city.
I have only sixteen more days left before I leave for the university and before I do, I need to solve this major problem of the city.
[The only problem is…] ‘… that I have no idea how to.’ I can enter this dungeon but as long as this soul damage problem remains, I can’t fight to my full potential.
Managing B+ ranks was already very difficult.
I also used my one trump card against just one of the A- so how the hell do I pass through who knows how many more knights and deal with the Lich without my trump card?
[There is one other way, don’t you think?] ‘That’s risky, dangerous and not to mention, unethical.’ [But do you see any other way?] [Besides, you said it yourself, those people don’t deserve your mercy] ‘No, they don’t.
But that doesn’t mean I can use their lives for my purposes.’ And since life is sensitive, I don’t even know how much I will have to do it.
I have done it before but only on those that truly deserved it.
[Then you have one last method] ‘Expendables.’ [Exactly] Haaa… the things I do for power.
But she is right in every way.
Some people in this world just deserve heinous punishment for their heinous crimes.
It doesn’t give me a right to act like a judge, jury, and executioner but human rights are the last thing I would consider before my own benefits.
After all, I’m only human.
===== Saranhoff was a prosperous city.
It wasn’t like that before but when the people of Caligulas city began to migrate due to the land trouble there, it flourished as a city and became a high-tier city of the central government straight from a low-tier city.
But that also meant that it brought many more troubles with it.
Increase in demand but lesser supply, work shortage, increase in crime, etc.
The biggest problem was the gang problem that infested the Saranhoff city.
It wasn’t anything extreme like many other big cities or the five great gangs of the Bellator city.
But it was still troublesome for most of the general public.
Human trafficking, drug trafficking, kidnapping, prostitution, everything became a norm.
Things would have ended there but it only got worse.
The previous lord, who denied the presence of the gangs and their deeds died, and the new lord, his son took over.
He didn’t share the same view as his father regarding the gangs and instead saw the profit from the disappearance of some irrelevant people which not only controlled the population of the city but also brought in quite a lot of profit, making the already prosperous city, better than ever.
“The income from this week’s shipment has arrived, my lord.” An old man dressed in a butler uniform informed a young blonde-haired man.
“Is there a problem with it?” The young man, the lord of the city, Danner asked.
“Yes, my lord.
The profit is cut back by five percent.” The butler reported which turned Danner’s otherwise good-looking face into a horribly contorted mess.
“WHAT THE FU*K ARE THOSE FREELOADERS DOING?
I LET THEM DO BUSINESS IN MY CITY AND THEY CAN’T EVEN PROPERLY PAY TAXES.” The entire mana heard the shouts of the young man, infused with the mana of an A- rank blessed.
“They said that the business is tough because of the bandit’s disappearance on the edge of the city.” The butler reported, trying to calm his lord.
“THEN TELL THEM TO HIRE MORE SUCMBAGS.
THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THEM TO CHOOSE FROM.
TELL THEM IF THEY INTEND TO MAKE EXCUSES, I WILL SKIN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM ALIVE.” But the anger of Danner didn’t know how to go away.
“Tell them…” He continued after a while of deep breaths, “Tell them I don’t care how they get money.
Whether they have to sell children, turn more women into wh*res, or whatever, I want my full money paid by tomorrow.
Do you understand?” It was a wonder how a human could say such inhuman things and make it sound like it was his right.
“I cannot bear to hear this anymore.” A voice interrupted their conversation.
Before Banner and the Butler could even react lightly such as looking in the direction of the voice, they blacked out.
“His Highness was right.
You people do deserve no mercy.” A knight in silver armor stood in the corner of the room.
He then walked over to the knocked-out men and carried them out of the manor without any worry.
As if there was no one in the manor who could see him.
That was because there was no one in the castle.
The knight loaded both of them in a carriage without any disregard and entered after that.
In the carriage, Banner and the butler weren’t the only people but there seemed to be at least ten more people lying on each other.
The carriage began to move and made its way out of the city.
Just like that carriage, hundreds of carriages and carts carrying people left the city and headed towards the territory of the Caligulas city.
But they didn’t enter the city, instead, they were taken to the abandoned church a few miles away.
The carriages carrying people began to arrive.
At the destination already stood a lot more guards, not only silver knights but the knights of the Hayez territory as well.
“Feed these to them,” Adrian said, handing hundreds of blue pills to the knights.
No one asked what these were for and they began to feed the blue pills to the unconscious people.
The number of people was at least two thousand including many city officials, the lord, and his confidants, and the gang higher-ups and their goons.
After that was done, Adrian said, “Pick them and begin to throw them into the dungeon.
Do not enter the dungeon.
Just throw them inside.” Adrian delivered his next set of instructions after feeding the blue pill was done.
‘Is it done?’ Adrian asked Allison as he saw the knights throwing every unconscious person into the dungeon.
Adrian himself entered the dungeon and began to carry some to the end of the lobby to make room for the newly thrown-in ones.
[It worked like a charm] ‘And how long before they wake up?’ [The paralyzing agent works for seven hours] [They should be waking up soon] ‘Let’s just hope they are useful.’ [Fodder is always useful] Soon, the entire lobby was full of people and all Adrian had to do was wait.
He had already instructed the people outside to leave after this job was done.
Adrian went ahead of the crowd of unconscious people and stood with his back against the gate.
He began to make a more potent version of the holy water that he would work at least a little on an A rank enemy.
While he was making the holy water, a voice entered his ears, “You…” The voice was tired as if it belonged to a weak man who hadn’t eaten for days.
“Where is this?” “This?” Adrian asked as he pointed at the door behind him and continued with a bright smile, “This is the dungeon of death.
Your death.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
