114: Before Caligulas 114: Before Caligulas Chapter 114 Sirius seriously went over the list he obtained from me and remarked, “I see some familiar names.” He must have already been aware of them.

And the rest were just a bonus.

“How you use this information is up to you.

I won’t be interfering in your internal affairs.” I made my stance clear and warned him of my involvement.

Interfering here would not only create headaches for me, but I won’t obtain anything from this.

No need to overwork myself when there are no incentives involved.

“I see.” He simply replied and then went quiet.

It seems there is something else.

“Is there something else you need to discuss with me?” I asked.

Sirius was hesitating which meant it was a favor, not an exchange.

Of course, he will give me something for it but he won’t be in the neutral position but the passive party.

“Did you know of the bridge incident?” Sirius asked, hinting at my knowledge about Zeren.

I smirked lightly and reassured him, “Don’t worry.

I won’t tell Desmond anything about it.” It wasn’t much of a favor anyway.

In the first place, I had nothing to do with Zeren and his circumstances.

Sure, he was wronged but he wasn’t squeaky clean as well.

The true victims of this incident are innocents but Zeren was anything but innocent so although I sympathize with the victims, I didn’t feel such a thing for Zeren.

So if he was worried that knowing Zeren’s history, some sense of justice would awaken in me, he was sorely mistaken.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the seven kingdom’s actions were amicable too.

Anyway, I should make a request of my own now.

If there is something I severely dislike, it’s becoming second.

Even though my performance on the test was amazing, having missed the written tests, my ranking would have been greatly affected.

Becoming second in the ranking was as good as becoming the last one.

But Sirius can solve that problem for me.

And besides, I won’t be asking him to change the results, I just want him to conduct tests for me once again.

I was confident I would ace them.

“I seem to have missed my theoretical tests, can you ask the professor to conduct special theory exams tomorrow?” If he agreed to change my ranking, that would be great but if he wasn’t willing to be biased, he could at least grant me this request given I had done so much for the academy.

Had any of those students been captured, no matter how much the seven kingdoms were involved, the academy’s reputation would have suffered too.

“Although there won’t be a need to do so since you will still remain first ranked, however, if you want to elevate your score, you can take the theoretical tests tomorrow under Michelle’s supervision,” Sirius informed me.

Although it was good news that I was still first ranked, my rank in the test this time wouldn’t be SS like all the ranks up until now so I agreed to take the tests.

Sirius left since there wasn’t much left to be discussed.

He made sure to announce his presence in the villa before leaving.

My brothers and cousins would have surely seen that.

My cousins don’t matter much but as far as my brothers were concerned, they would be relaying this news back to the crown prince.

Speaking of my brothers, I wonder what happened to Lincoln.

No one said anything until I woke up and he didn’t show up in front of me as well.

Curiosity got the best of me so I asked Rose, “Rose, do you know where Lincoln is these days?” “Lincoln has holed himself inside his room like a coward, Your Highness.

He must have faced a strong enemy and lost his morale.” Rose informed me, not bothering to keep Lincoln’s status under consideration one bit.

Instead, she was blatantly insulting him.

This behavior warrants the death penalty normally.

Of course, normally.

Right now, no one had enough guts to touch Rose who was currently under my protection and in turn under the first elder’s protection.

Not to mention she also had a very good relationship with Alicia.

Being affiliated with the first elder was as good as being affiliated with the emperor.

Even if she insulted the crown prince, as long as the emperor decided not to punish her, there was no power in the empire that could.

[But wasn’t it you who instructed her to insult them whenever mentioned?] ‘Of course, it was me.’ But that was just for fun.

To get a funny reaction out of Max but I never expected that Rose would take that order to heart.

Anyway, Lincoln seems like he had amassed some sort of trauma.

But that’s good since that was my goal.

I wonder if he was afraid of fire now though.

It would be very funny if he was.

Forgetting about all the taxing matters, I holed myself in my bed and slept like a log.

Of course, I woke up at dawn to practice my skills.

For now, this was all that I could do given that my stats were very low now.

After a few hours of practice that bore no result because of the enormous level-up requirement, I had a hearty breakfast, and while I was having breakfast, very good news arrived.

“Your Highness, the teleportation circle has received seven guests with carriages.

Since the room would have overcrowded, we have moved them outside but we made sure they weren’t unchecked.” The head butler informed me.

I smirked and focused on finishing my breakfast.

Once I was done, I went to the garden where the carriages were relocated.

I saw seven carriages lined up and ready for my orders.

Without listening to the entourage of representatives, I opened the carriages one by one and conducted a detailed examination.

Once I was sure that every penny was accounted for, I stored everything in my inventory leaving only horses of the carriages.

Even the carriages were quite expensive.

“Tell you kings and queens that I have received the compensation well.

Tell them that their kind gesture of my well-being won’t be forgotten till the end of time.” I said but my words could also be translated as, ‘I will keep my mouth shut for now but I will remember everything till the end of time.’ A blackmailer is never satisfied.

He constantly asks for something once he runs out of previous things.

If they thought I would be satisfied, they were dead wrong.

I just let them have some breathing time.

Besides, it’s not like they won’t attempt anything now.

[But you welcome such attempts] ‘Of course I do.

It is fun to watch them in misery.’ Not to mention the fact that experts hired by them wouldn’t be just nobodies so if I managed to kill them, I would be landing myself some levels as well.

====== Michelle was looking at me as if one looks at an entitled brat.

I would have explained myself but why should I?

There was nothing to be gained from this.

I simply did all the tests and handed them to her in less than two hours.

“Are you done already?” Michelle asked, greatly surprised.

The time limit I was given for all three tests was six hours yet I was finished in two.

I could have done it sooner but I was in a laidback mood today.

After all, I had just made a fortune today.

Michelle was even more surprised after she cursory glanced at my performance although she didn’t say anything about it.

Done with this I was just about to leave when Michelle stopped me, “Wait a minute.” I stopped to listen to what she had to say, “Auriella wants to meet you.

She said she had something important to discuss.” Michelle informed me of a certain green-eyed beauty whose sister was able to obtain justice because of me.

I smirked as I just needed a way in the assistance of a major power from another kingdom.

Since I have helped the Ferrahfowler family, they would be my ticket to enter the Ragnar Kingdom.

“I will visit her today,” I replied and left.

Since I wanted to leave a good impression, I didn’t bother asking to set up a meeting and headed straight over to the Ferrahfowler mansion.

Besides, I had to leave tomorrow for the Caligulas so I needed to handle many matters over the course of today and one of them was to meet the old man Vermillion as well and ask for some assistance.

‘Huuu….

How good it would have been if I had system gold.

I could have built everything I wanted overnight.’ [Won’t you earn them from the dungeon in the city?] ‘I will but I doubt they would be enough to do what I plan to do.

Maybe it will be but who knows.’ During my conversation, my carriage arrived at the Ferrahfowler mansion.

I notified the guard of my presence and he didn’t ask me to wait to inform the head but led me straight inside.

Shortly afterward, I was personally welcomed by a woman who seemed to have dressed in quite a bit of a hurry.

I guess my visit was quite unannounced.

“Sorry to intrude like this but I had my reasons.” I apologetically said as she took a few deep breaths.

“It’s fine.

Actually, I was getting ready to visit you.” She replied as she directed a servant to get refreshments ready.

“Please, sit.” She pointed at a sofa and took the opposite one herself.

Shortly afterward, refreshments were brought in.

“I heard you wanted to meet me,” I said as we both settled in.

“Yes.

I wanted to thank you for what you did for me.” She thanked me sincerely before moving to the main point, “But as the future head of the Ferrahfowler house, I can’t remain in debt.

Since I have received something, I should naturally give as well.” I liked her attitude and that was great.

It was better that she was the one initiating this conversation.

It would save me the trouble of explaining myself.

“Now that you mention it, there is one thing you can do for me.

Of course, if you find it too unreasonable, you can refuse.” I said as she prepared herself.

I pulled out a dress from my inventory.

It wasn’t the same prototype dress but the dress with an enchantment of auto fitting so anyone could wear it regardless of their physique.

Of course, its true elegance would only show if someone slender and well-maintained wore it.

“This is something I wish to sell.

But for that, I need to properly display it.

I would like it if you could wear it to some banquet of yours and show it to your circle properly.

Tell them where you obtained it.” I relayed my purpose.

Auriella was hella beautiful.

It would do me good if she was to become my advertiser in the Ragnar Kingdom.

Auriella was somewhat skeptical at my simple request but that wasn’t all.

“Also, I would like to present you with a business opportunity.

Of course, you are more than welcome to decline it.” “I will lend an ear.” She didn’t give a definitive answer since wearing a dress and running a business were two different things.

If it was something that clashed with their businesses, she wouldn’t agree to it.

“I would like to sell it in the Ragnar kingdom as well.

I would like the Ferrahfowler family to watch over this branch of mine.” I proposed my plan.

She nodded and asked, “What would be the distribution scale?” It took me some time to tell her everything.

I properly explained the dress slash artifact which she found to be quite fascinating.

After I was done, we decided on a 90 to 10 distribution, with me taking the 90 percent.

Done with our conversation, she did ask me if there was something else I wanted because my demands had been nothing compared to what I had done for her.

I simply told her I would like to keep it for the future and she was more than happy with it.
