The Archangel of Death - Chapter 113
113: Extortion 113: Extortion Chapter 113 “Did I ask for the rulers or their fu*king stoolies!?
HUH?!!!” I yelled in front of the representatives of the kingdoms.
They were offended that I was speaking to them like this but there was one thing they were also confused about.
[They don’t know what stoolie means] ‘They get the expression.’ “When you agree to a meeting with someone and then you do this, that certain someone might think that he is not being taken seriously enough.
And that HURTS MY FEELINGS!!!” I yelled once again.
The only reason that these guys were offended and weren’t saying anything, well, that would be because of an old man sitting beside me.
Anyway, “Tell your kings and queens, they have until sundown to get here.
Those who aren’t here by then will have their not-so-good deeds exposed to the entire world.
If they need convincing, then tell any one of them, I know of the in-law incident.” Many of them didn’t understand but I didn’t need them to understand.
Upon my threat, the rulers of the seven kingdoms would surely call for a meeting.
And when the secret of one of them is announced like this, the others would also come to understand everything.
===== “See?
I like people who follow orders.” I said as seven very infuriated individuals sat in front of me, looking like they would eat me up any second.
Of course, this time, I was alone without the assistance of the first elder.
Still, these guys would keep themselves in check if they didn’t want to be ostracized by the entire humanity.
“What do you want?” One of the kings, whose name if I wasn’t mistaken was Ronald.
Funny though.
Whenever these guys were mentioned in the novel, they were mentioned as Ronald of the Seven Kingdoms or Gwyneth of the Seven Kingdoms.
Their kingdom names weren’t mentioned throughout the entire novel.
I guess Dad was too lazy to come up with it.
And I was too uninterested to know about it.
What I did know were their secrets and how to find them.
“Well, it seems that while I was out of commission, there had been a meeting in which it was decided that I would be properly compensated by the seven kingdoms.
I want to discuss that deal now but since you have so rudely made me aware that you aren’t serious about this by sending some representatives, I’m not feeling very generous right now.” I rambled on while making myself comfortable and pouring myself some tea.
Maybe it was my laidback attitude or my blatant disrespect, but one of the kings whose name if I wasn’t mistaken was Heraiz, slammed on the table and broke it.
Not a good start.
“Who do you think you are?!
HOW DARE YOU TREAT US LIKE THAT?!!!!!” And now he was raising his voice at me.
Seriously, didn’t I say that I would be generous depending on their behaviors?
How do they expect me to be good to them if they won’t be good to me?
I guess they need a reminder to understand who is truly in charge of this conversation.
“How dare I?
How dare I?” I mumbled twice and then said, “You’re right.
I shouldn’t treat you all like this.
I mean, you have a different kind of dungeon beneath your palace.” I pointed at Heraiz and said.
Then I pointed at Gwyneth and said, “She has deceived her husband over who the real members of the royal family are.” Then I pointed at Ronald and said, “You killed the family of the apostle Derrell and then painted a criminal organization to keep him under your control.” And then I went on and kept mentioning the crimes and secrets of all seven of them.
Quite frankly, even I was appalled and I had seen a lot of messed up stuff in my life.
Still, now wasn’t the time to make them pay.
I needed them to pay for their crimes slowly.
Make them feel it down to their bones.
Once I was done counting about one-third of their crimes, Heraiz had already settled back in his chair like a meek cat and the rest weren’t looking so good as well.
“How dare I treat you all with consideration?
How dare I seat you equal to me?
YOU SHOULD ALL BE ON YOUR KNEES, BEGGING ME TO STEP ON YOU YET HOW DARE YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!” The entire room rumbled at my shouts.
The seven individuals who were at quite a high rank compared to me, trembled at my loud voice.
I didn’t say another word and let the gravity of the situation sink in for a while.
I wasn’t in a hurry.
I knew for sure that they couldn’t harm me because of my status.
If they killed me, they wouldn’t be making it out of here alive.
Of course, they would try some stuff later but for now, I will be safe.
After a while, Ronald, who was the most cunning out of them all and also probably the leader of these guys spoke, “We… We apologize for our behavior.
Please, tell us what we need to do to make it up to you.” Now he was speaking in my tongue.
They should have done this since the beginning.
I would have been a lot more generous with my extortion.
But now, now my mood was already spoiled.
Now they will have to pay whatever I want.
“What I want is simple.
Give me twenty million gold each.” I nonchalantly laid my terms on the broken table.
Stunned, they all were no doubt.
Once again, I let my words sink in before I did anything.
“Are… Are you…
serious?” Gwyneth asked with a trembling tone, in utter disbelief at my demand.
After all, what I was asking would surely empty their royal reserves by eighty percent.
Twenty million isn’t a small amount.
Even the Cortum empire’s imperial reserves would be somewhere around a billion gold so these kingdoms would at most have about thirty to forty million if they were doing well.
In that instance, if they had to give me twenty million, they would have a very difficult time ahead of them.
But if they thought that giving me money would just make things difficult for them, they were sorely wrong.
They have no idea how strong of a hit their economic situation would take.
The economy of their entire kingdom would hit rock bottom and just so it happens, I was thinking of starting a business as well.
Well, that is for later.
While I stood up, I said with no care in my tone, “You can decide whether I am serious or not by tomorrow morning.
If I am not delivered a hundred and forty million gold by tomorrow morning, I will hand over all the evidence against you to the world leaders.
Then you can decide, whether you want to hand over half of your fortune or all of your kingdoms.” Saying so, I left seven very shocked individuals in the room and made my way to the villa with Rose.
There was something else that I needed before heading to Caligulas.
My earlier plan was to use the system money to make changes to the Caligulas.
Make it a fortified city overnight but since I was dirt poor on system coins now, all I could do was splurge real-time money the normal way and make the Caligulas as much as better as I could during the one month I would be there.
For that, I needed construction teams.
Where that team comes from is simple.
My trustworthy ally, the central government.
I reckon they would also like to thank me for helping Sophien so no doubt they would be very happy to lend me experts at a discounted price.
[What if you don’t get funds from the Seven Kingdoms?] [Will you give them more time?] ‘Of course not.
I wasn’t bluffing in the least.’ I really wasn’t.
If they don’t deliver the necessary amount of gold by tomorrow morning, I will hand over this matter to the first elder.
He is already on my back regarding this matter and if I get nothing out of this, then I don’t need to cover for the seven kingdoms.
But if they do, they will be buying themselves some time before I hand the evidence over to the first elder.
Of course, after carefully exposing them to their apostles and making sure they know who they stand with.
Just as I returned to the villa, a servant was waiting for me who after greeting me informed me of a very special guest waiting for me.
Sirius de Salazar.
The headmaster and the unspoken ruler of the Bellator city.
Sure there were political influences of other kingdoms and even the empire, hindering his authority, but he was still a man who couldn’t be taken lightly.
“What brings the esteemed headmaster to my humble abode?” I didn’t bother to greet him or start with a useless topic but instead, I got straight to the point.
And if he was anything like he was depicted in the novel, he would prefer it that way as well.
The same couldn’t be said for Michelle though who was standing behind him, “How could you speak to th—-” but she was interrupted when Sirius raised his hand to stop her.
“Leave us.” He ordered Michelle who didn’t protest.
I also turned to Rose and nodded who left after a brief bow to both me and Sirius.
“You could have called for me,” I said as I sat down.
He could have but he didn’t and came all the way here himself which meant he was showing his stance right now.
“Then those keeping an open eye wouldn’t know about our secret alliance.” He replied that made me chuckle right then and there.
“That’s correct.
So I assume you have finally decided to let go of your neutrality?” I asked as I pulled out the tea set from the inventory and poured him an expensive 1000 coins’ tea.
He wasn’t very surprised and simply took the teacup.
After taking a sip, he was surprised and said, “I hope you can share this tea recipe with me.” That was impossible because it was system tea so I dodged it by saying, “It’s a family secret.
Though I can supply you with an entire pot.
Of course, it would be very expensive.” “Even for an ally?” He questioned.
I chuckled and replied, “I’m only selling because you’re an ally.” He nodded and we both moved on from this topic.
“Since we are allies from now, we should begin this alliance with a good gesture from both sides.
If there is anything you need, let me know.” I nodded but didn’t say anything.
It wasn’t a charity that he was offering but an alliance which meant that I would have to do something for him as well.
“Unrestrained selling permit.
When I sell my merchandise in the Bellator, I would appreciate it if the interference from the militia is kept to the bare minimum.” I decided to relay my request which wasn’t very difficult for Sirius to grant.
But that also meant that he couldn’t ask for something grand.
“Merchandise?
Are you planning to become a merchant?” He asked, taken aback by my request.
I simply nodded to which he replied, “I see.
Very well.
That will be done since it is a simple request.” “Now that you have done something for me, I should do something for you as well,” I said as I took out a piece of paper and a quill and wrote a few names on it.
These were the names of the officers in the militia who were although citizens of Bellator, were on the payroll of the kingdoms.
[Quite cunning of you] ‘What?
I am helping him clean his forces.’ [Even though the people you are removing are those that can get in your business] ‘That is an entirely different matter.’ I simply want to cement the position of my ally.
If that somehow benefits me as well, well, that is merely a coincidence then.
