The target of the message wasn’t Adrian but Allison.
[When his father wouldn’t, someone has to] [You wound me, Lady Allison] [Who do you think allowed the bypass?] Allison didn’t reply.
It was true.
Even after her attempts to bypass the system, she couldn’t without the authority of the other half of the system, the administrator.
[What do you want?] [I simply want to ask a simple question] [How was it?] [Seeing my son lose control of himself] [The quest you couldn’t handle even with your authority over the system] [He was better than a certain someone who lost himself and destroyed almost half of the world] [The keyword being ‘almost’] Allison didn’t reply.
She was considering whether she should reply to the administrator’s earlier question or not.
In the end, she decided to answer since she was also baffled.
The control she had over the system was bypassed even without her knowing and a quest had regenerated out of her control and even the administrator’s.
both of the parties that consist of the system couldn’t hold the emotions of Adrian.
[Just do your job and be on the way, I will make sure to deal with it] Allison couldn’t see the current expression of the administrator but as far as her knowledge of the administrator went, she was sure he was smirking.
[Understood, Lady Allison] [See you soon] The conversation ended and everything returned to normal.
Adrian’s body kept repairing itself every second while his soul kept sucking his life force to heal itself.
It was a unique method only for Adrian since he had all the life in the world to spare.
But even then, soul reparation wasn’t a joke and it took a long time for his body to return to normal.
===== Meanwhile, while Adrian’s body healed, a meeting took place in the Bellator Academy of the parties involved in this incident.
The empire’s representative, Raphael sat with an angry face.
Not just him, but the leader of the central government, Cornelius Vermillion was also very angry at the moment.
But their anger was nothing compared to two other individuals’ anger.
Monica Ravenknight was emitting mana waves because of her immense anger and as for Stewart, although he wasn’t emitting mana, he was anything but calm at the moment.
Sirius sighed and turned to Michelle, worried about his own thing, “Desmond will not be informed of this meeting’s contents.
Understood?” Michelle was troubled.
On one side there was Desmond while on the other side the headmaster.
She didn’t know who to choose but even she knew how Desmond would react when he found out about what the seven kingdoms did.
She didn’t want that herself so she simply nodded while she replied, “I understand but I will let you know of my stance as well.
This isn’t right, sir.” Sirius didn’t reply.
He agreed with Michelle but being who he was, he had to look at the bigger picture than focus on small things that were out of their hands now.
The same went for everyone else.
Although they were angry, they couldn’t ignore the bigger picture.
Six out of seven apostle candidates belonged to the seven kingdoms.
The sole reason why the seven kingdoms could throw their weight around now on the world leader table.
So although the seven kingdoms were responsible for this incident, they would not be criticized or even punished very strongly.
They would simply pay some compensation while throwing blame around and getting this over with.
However, even in anger, Raphael didn’t lose his intellect.
He knew of a perfect person who could make them bleed without even realizing them they were bleeding.
‘I will let that brat handle it.’ Finally, the meeting began.
The first to speak was Monica, “How do the seven kingdoms explain themselves?!” She was angry quite a bit but she contained herself.
She was strong but even she had to consider the circumstances of the apostles’ origins.
“Explain ourselves?” One of the kings, Ronald questioned back, “It was your daughter who was the target.
If anything, I would say you were the reason this incident happened in the first place.” As Raphael expected, the blame was entirely shifted on someone else.
Monica’s magic wavelengths became even stronger which made Ronald a little uncomfortable because even though he was also an SS rank, he was nothing compared to Monica.
The only assurance he had was that the Ravenknight wouldn’t do anything right now.
“Laura Ravenknight may have been the target but any of the other could have been taken as well,” Cornelius spoke, asserting his point.
“And we fully understand but we still fail to understand how this had anything to do with us.
Even our apostle candidates were in danger.” Another king, Bernard spoke, painting himself and the seven kingdoms as the victims as well.
“Is that so?
Then how do you explain the bridge incident?” But even the seven kingdoms couldn’t play dumb all the way through with this question posed by Raphael.
“Zeren was an unfortunate case that we couldn’t do anything about.
We had no way of predicting that he would join the other side, foregoing his humanity and betraying his own kind.” But even then they couldn’t accept their mistake.
They sure had thick skin.
“Is that so?
Then would it also be unfortunate if the same were to happen to you?” Raphael spoke.
He wasn’t foolish enough to think that these people would suddenly become conscious of their mistakes and repent.
This question was simply to shift the blame on them using a technicality.
“How can we be compared to a simple madman who thought he could do anything?” Another king, the one who started the incident with Zeren, Heraiz, spoke angrily.
Nothing could be said and done now.
They all knew that the seven kingdoms wouldn’t admit to their mistakes and even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to do anything against the kingdoms because Zeren was now the enemy of humanity with this move of his.
“You are forgetting something.
We are not here to find out who is to blame.
We know who is to blame and that is you.
How do you intend to take responsibility for this incident?” Cornelius spoke, leaving no room for further debate.
“I agree.” Raphael and Monica agreed with Cornelius.
To this, the seven kingdoms couldn’t say anything.
They could argue but angering the great superpowers of the human world even though they possessed the power of apostles wasn’t a wise thing to do.
“Very well.
We will provide sufficient compensation for the damages.” Ronald replied, giving in to the situation for now.
“That sounds fair.
But we are not the true victims of this incident.
How about we let the true victim of this incident decide the compensation?” Raphael spoke and suggested.
Everyone knew who Raphael was talking about.
Since Adrian was the one who dealt with the situation and greatly got injured in the process, Raphael wanted him to be the one to take the compensation from the seven kingdoms.
Usually, it wouldn’t have been a good suggestion as it was too biased towards the Cortum Empire but given that Adrian was in relationships with both of the other powers, the Ravenknight kingdom and the central government, they both readily agreed which made the things even more difficult for the seven kingdoms.
But they also agreed.
They had to.
After all, they had witnessed the powers displayed by Adrian even if they had been at a great cost.
“Very well.
We agree to this suggestion.” Ronald said, agreeing with everyone.
Now all they had to do was wait for Adrian to wake up.
===== I slowly opened my eyes.
It was night and the atmosphere around me was tranquil.
There was no one in my room besides me which was a good thing.
I would rather not deal with anyone right now.
The effects of my desires hadn’t completely gone away even after controlling and suppressing my emotions so much.
[Maybe a good night’s walk might help] My most trusty companion, Allison suggested while I was still embroiled in inner turmoil.
‘Thanks.’ I said before I did anything else.
[Don’t worry too much] [I need you alive as well] ‘That may be true but I still can’t forget what you did.’ I really couldn’t.
Soul damage.
AyaAkusa is an authority that cuts through everything.
Mainly the essence of everything.
In simpler words, AyaAkusa cuts through realities and souls.
To cut through a soul, a soul is needed.
I didn’t have soul power or spiritual power so the source came from my soul directly.
Of course, given that I couldn’t control anything in my state, the damage must have been very great.
I was lucky my soul wasn’t completely snuffed out of existence.
Even then, the problem wasn’t solved.
Logically, to repair a soul, one needs soul power which once again, I didn’t have.
A substitute to that could be spiritual power but I didn’t have that as well.
That leaves no other substitute.
It would have taken a great load of power to set my life force as a source.
And even greater to set it to temporary.
A thanks was the least I could do for that much trouble Allison had to go through.
[It wasn’t just me] ‘That’s his job as my father.’ I replied to Allison’s humility.
Of course, just her wouldn’t have been enough.
My father must have interfered as well but that’s the least he could do after throwing me in here.
‘Also, I’m sorry.’ Aside from my gratitude, an apology was in order as well.
I had some time to analyze the situation.
The quest that appeared was too helpful to me.
Too, too much.
I didn’t need to be told how it was triggered.
My emotions.
Somehow the system responded to my immense emotions and generated a quest.
Something that Allison couldn’t expect.
Not only was I the cause of the whole situation, but she even had to expend a great deal of power to heal me afterward.
[As long as you’re aware of it and don’t do it again] ‘I’m sorry.
And don’t worry, I won’t.’ I had control over my emotions to a great extent and no matter what, I will never use my desires to gain power.
If my desire is the only way to gain power, I would rather remain a weakling my whole life because I know the havoc my unrestrained desires can wreak.
Our conversation came to an end as I stepped out on the balcony of my room and saw the full moon looming over the sky, illuminating the tranquil night of Bellator City.
I inhaled deeply to calm my nerves.
‘Show me everything I missed.’ Now was the time to reap the rewards for everything.
