Chapter 444: Chapter 444- The Battle That Erased the Valley
Conrad was the Commander of the Knights of the Enduring Spirits. Their order was mostly made up of commoners.

“If you put it like that, then the newbies of my order are no slouches either. I have been putting them through the grind ever since they joined my order.”

The other commanders also joined in. They were all prideful individuals and took pride in the order they led. And so began a heated debate on whose order was the best.

“Hah, isn’t it obvious that my Order of the Blazing Sun is the greatest order of Solaris? We are ranked the first.”

“Sir Brutus, ranking does not work like this. The only reason why your order is on top is because the number of your expeditions is the highest.” Vanessa clarified; one could see the fires of rivalry burning deep within her eyes.

“Your headquarters just happens to be near the borderlands, which is why all your actions are counted as expeditions.” As a member of the Council, Marquis Herman had a much better understanding of this.

“Heh, if you put it like that, then Sir Herman, you are no different either. Your order’s rank is high because, as a Council member, you are notified of the missions faster than anyone. Who is to say that you don’t keep the high value missions to yourself?”

Zargeus was never the one to hold anything back; plus with no filter in his mouth, he spouted whatever came into his mind.

“This is silly, I don’t want any part in it. However, as the commander of the Lunar Veil, I cannot take all your comments lying down.” Leona brushed her hair back; her words icy.

“Now, now, everyone, isn’t it time you all give the commoners a chance? Their potential, I believe, is worthy to be ranked number one.”

You would expect Conrad, who was the oldest among the seven, to be more level headed. However, his words clearly expressed that he was aiming for the top seat too.

“Sigh, this is going nowhere. What do we do? Let our orders fight each other?” Vanessa questioned, stepping back from the silly argument.

Now that all the other knight orders except for the seven were eliminated, there was no more opponent for them to fight. Of course, there is always a challenge in the form of the Seven Great Knight Orders.

However, letting their orders fight while they sat back and watched sounded…

“It’s boring. I don’t want to sit back and do nothing. Instead of that, how about we settle it among ourselves? I’m sure you all haven’t had enough warm up, right?” Brutus grinned, battle intent oozing out of his body.

“You know, there is still more than two hours of the allotted time left.”

Reinhardt cracked his neck. The artifact projecting the time showed them how much time had elapsed, and there was still a considerable amount of time remaining.

The Seven Great Knight Orders were so powerful that the other knight orders couldn’t last more than an hour against them. And that was when the other orders were actively running away from them, thus taking up more time to clean up.

“Heh, I couldn’t agree more. I was itching for a blood boiling battle anyway.”

“Let’s get to it.”

The commanders were all eager for some action; even the Saintess and Leona were no exception. They were just about to start an all out brawl right here, right no,w when Reinhardt extended his hand and stopped them.

“A minute. Before we begin, I have something I need to do.”

Saying that, he picked the large crystal up with one hand and walked toward the end of the devastated land where Marcus and the others who had returned after finishing their mission, were waiting for him.

“Take this crystal with you. Marcus, from now on, you are the Crystal Guardian.” Reinhardt handed the crystal to the Holy Knight.

The latter carefully held the crystal and asked in a daze. “Commander, are you about to battle them?”

In the distance, he could see the commanders of the Seven Great Knight Orders assembled in one place. It didn’t take a genius to know what would happen next.

“Yeah, get as far away as possible and don’t let the crystal break.”

Reinhardt did not explain either and simply gave a warning before turning around and walking back.

Marcus, who looked at the departed figure of his commander in a daze, woke from his trance and hurriedly cried out.

“Leave! We need to hurriedly leave the premises; the further the better.”

“Eh? Why are we leaving? Aren’t we going to watch the Seven Commanders’ incredible battle?”

“Why? It is because this entire valley is going to disappear if those monstrosities started throwing fists and kicks at each other. The Great Aegis Shatter event is history now. What matters more is keeping our lives intact and survive.”

“You can watch if you have a death wish. However, don’t blame us if we didn’t warn you before.” Silvia, Vangeance, and even Delicia all hurriedly left without entertaining the idea of watching the epic fight for a single second.

In fact, their departing figure was almost like they were running away.

“Let’s leave too. I have a bad feeling about staying.” Gwen expressed her feelings and chased behind her seniors.

“Let’s go.”

Rolan did the same. No one wanted to remain behind to watch the battle of the Seven Commanders.

Kevin glanced behind with reluctance before leaving the scene.

.

.

Back at the center, the seven stretched their stiff bodies.

“So, how should we go about doing this? The last time we made teams.”

“Nah, we did it in that format already, so it’s boring now. How about last man standing?”

“It was a year before that we fought till the last man standing and ended up destroying that whole portion of the land near the kingdom’s capital. I don’t think we can do that here.”

The capital was not far away; it might, no, it will get encompassed in the shockwaves and energy blasts spreading from their attacks.
