Chapter 443: Chapter 443- Seven Great Knight Commanders Assembled!
“Heh, that guy was done with just a punch; that’s boring.” A man the size of a grizzly bear spoke. With his arrival, the temperature in the area also increased.
“Haha, he was already exhausted.”
Reinhardt shrugged and turned his attention toward his friend, who was also one of the three Legendary Heroes of Solaris alongside him.
“Heh, you don’t need to act humble. I can see that your punch can bypass armor and destroy one’s body from the inside.”
It should have been his first time looking at the skill; yet the latter was instantly able to recognize what it did. Well, it was to be expected; after all, the one standing before him was no run of the mill kind of knight but one whose name strikes fear in the heart of even the demons.
“What are you doing here? Don’t you have to guard your crystal?”
At those words, Brutus laughed loudly.
“Hahaha… it was getting boring, so I gave the role of the Crystal Guardian to one of my knights.”
Passing down the role was another way to go around the rules without breaking them. One wouldn’t think a man of Brutus’ frame could come up with such a versatile plan. After all, his appearance made him look more brawn and less brain.
However, if one thought like that, they would be sorely mistaken; this legendary knight was extremely shrewd and astute.
ROARRR…
While Reinhardt and Brutus were catching up on old times, a loud roar of a lion shook the air. A gigantic lion came plummeting down from the sky.
“Reinhardt, I knew it was you. Making such a commotion, are you trying to ruin the image of nobles?”
Who else could the obstinate aristocrat be other than Marquis Herman?
“What a lovely bunch this is, wouldn’t you all agree?”
“Un, they are getting the party started with us.”
“Hmph.”
Following his appearance, the Saintess, Conrad, and Leona also made their presence known.
The last one to arrive was…
RUMBLE…
A thick bolt of lightning pierced through the sky, and riding it was a knight who liked to do things in a thunderous way.
The lightning pillar crashed where the six commanders were, and through it walked out the commander of the Thunderstorm Brigade, Zargeus.
“I see that you have all gathered together. What fun.”
Reinhardt, Brutus, Vanessa, Herman, Conrad, Leona, and Zargeus, all the Commanders of the Seven Great Knight Orders, had assembled.
The fact that all of them were here meant that the other knight orders participating in this event were all wiped out or had surrendered.
Reinhardt wasn’t surprised. In fact, it was the most logical outcome; after all, the seven knights here were the strongest knights of their generation in all of Solaris.
They were called the Seven Great Knight Orders for a reason; no other knight order came even close.
“Hmm? Is that Guren? No wonder I felt such an exciting release of power. Damn you, Reinhardt, how can you hoard such an exciting battle all to yourself?”
As experts of battle who have spent most of their lives on the battlefield, they could imagine what kind of thrilling battle went on here before they arrived.
Reinhardt shrugged; all of them were his old friends and rivals, the pillars of Solaris.
“Let me guess, this guy here was vying for your position, right? Poor guy, you should have gone easy on him.” Conrad looked at Guren with pity.
“Oh please, this guy is an Extreme Knight. If he falls after just a single punch, then his training is lacking. I swear all archers are glass cannons.” Zargeus hollered.
“Well, he is from the generation that hadn’t gone past the safety confines of the Tainted Lands,” Vanessa added.
Leona was silent.
The event that is now known as the Bloody Rain was one of humanity’s greatest setbacks. After that catastrophic loss, expeditions deep into the Tainted Lands were all stopped, and the human kingdoms never allied their knight orders together.
The seven of them here had all gone on expeditions deep within the Tainted Lands and had all suffered losses and traumas, gotten over it, and climbed to the position they were in today. In short, they were aware of the terrifyingness of the demons.
Their knowledge, along with their countless failures and defeats was what made them stronger.
“The knights of this generation lack the zeal to oppose the Forces of Darkness and come out alive. The knights who came at me were all wet behind the ears,” Brutus sighed.
“It was the same with me. None of them were able to properly master [One with the Sword] and were all heavily reliant on their skills and stats.” Vanessa’s expression was grave at the level of the current generation of knights.
Their words resonated with the other commanders. They all came here seeking challenge and to see the level of the current knights, only to be disappointed.
Most of the knight orders ran away from them after seeing that they stood no chance; others simply surrendered.
The long years of peace and safety have made humans too lax. If it continued like this, then humanity would perish.
“Not quite,” Reinhardt interjected, clearing the heavy atmosphere.
“I know some budding, future knights of the realm who are diligently training and working hard to fight the demons. Humanity has not lost its enduring will yet.”
It is true that the times are not turbulent. However, it was not like humanity was not developing. It had excellent seedlings all around the kingdom, who just needed to be given proper guidance and environment to grow.
“Is he talking about the knights of his own order?” Conrad the wisest of them all, asked with a frown
Herman nodded. “Knowing him, if he is talking about someone, then he is talking about his own order.”
“You are quite a narcissist, aren’t you? But I agree. The knights of my order know the struggles of the poor and the discriminated. They will grow up to become splendid knights in the future.”
