Chapter 423: Chapter 423- Sealing The Demonic Treasure
BANG… BANG… BANG…

A rain of attacks poured down on the demonified knight, each strike creating a new crack and erasing the demonic energy it was powered by.

Finally, Kevin slammed his fist straight through the knight’s chest.

In this last attack, he stretched his arm backward to the limit, the majestic marking on his body as if coming alive, creating a powerful phantom of a titanic being for just an instant.

The punch was far stronger than anything Kevin had dished out earlier. Even the chamber shook from the might of the attack.

From the hole opened in the demonified knight, black blood exploded outward, splattering on the ground.

Then the corpse twitched once, twice, before dissolving into smoke.

And just like this, the enemy was defeated. The chamber, which had all of a sudden turned chaotic, descended into silence.

Standing in the exact place where he defeated the enemy, Kevin took deep breaths of air. Then suddenly, the human heart within his body gave a loud beat, and the boy; no, the young man, clutched his chest.

The next second, he fell on the ground and roared out. His roar, far from human, shook the air. Crimson gold markings on his body slowly pulsed with a faint light before compressing down to only his back.

With the majestic markings receding, so did his body. His long hair changed from crimson to black and became short again. His height shrank, coming to his usual stature, and the horn on his head also receded back.

Finally, the young boy was back to his usual human self.

“Kevin… Kevin… are you alright?”

Gwen quickly rushed over. She only sighed in relief after seeing Kevin’s heart beat again. He was not dead, just unconscious.

As his human heart was beating again, the dragon heart that he had formed and which had now grown to the size of a grain stopped beating, thus halting his transformation.

However, Gwen wasn’t aware of that; she was extremely relieved after seeing Kevin return back to life.

“You idiot, you scared me to death. See how I won’t talk to you anymore. Don’t come running to me from tomorrow on.”

She pouted and made little fists. Though sadly, the boy wasn’t conscious to see her cute tantrums.

A while later…

“Kuh!!” Rolan groaned, coming to his senses.

Immediately, he propped his body up, only to feel a biting pain in his solar plexus. Evidently, the damage from the kick he suffered from the demonified knight had yet to go away completely.

“Don’t move your body too much. I just healed you. Since I don’t have enough mana to heal all of you, I just healed the most grievous injury. You can do the rest yourself, right?”

From the side came the voice of Gwen.

Rolan looked around; beside him were Kevin and Delicia. There was no sign of the enemy.

“Where did the demonified Knight go?”

Gwen spoke while casting her healing skill on the unconscious Delicia, who had suffered a heavy blow to her head.

“Kevin defeated it.”

“What?!! Argh.”

At those words, Rolan couldn’t help but jump in shock.

“What do you mean he defeated it? The last time I checked, his heart had stopped…”

“I don’t know what happened either. But he woke up when all of us were defeated and then crushed the enemy.”

“I can’t believe it. So he was not dead?” Rolan was shocked; no, more than that, he was happy. Happy to see that his friend and comrade was still alive.

“Tell me more about what happened after I passed out,” he questioned.

And so, Gwen told him everything she saw. In the middle of her explanation, Delicia woke up and was shocked to hear the actions of the boy.

“I can’t believe it. He really did all that?”

Rolan couldn’t be blamed for having doubts; after all, if one did not see the scene for themselves, no one would believe it. What’s more, he had personally fought with the Demonified Knight and knew how powerful it was.

Even the three of them were not its match. Yet Kevin was pummeling the opponent as if it were nothing.

“Well, in any case, I’m relieved that you all are safe.”

Thanks to Kevin waking up in time, Gwen was spared, and they and the Bloomkeeper were safe.

Gwen nodded and looked at the boy who was peacefully sleeping right now. Whatever that power was, one thing was certain. Kevin saved her life.

“Let’s get going. Commander and the others might have finished their own battles by now. Although I doubt there would be anymore demonified knights coming our way, in the off chance, we cannot stay in this enclosed space.”

Everyone nodded at his words. Rolan carried the crimson sword, while Gwen and Delicia supported the unconscious Kevin.

By the time they reached the breach in the wall they had made previously, the fight inside the Main Hall was almost wrapped up.

The three commanders were winning their fight against the Devil Brothers. The enemy might have managed to kill a level 10 hero, Sir Gerard, in their heyday. However, that was when they ganged up on him and used numerous tricks to weaken him.

Right now, their opponent was not alone. They were fighting three of the Seven Great Commanders, not to mention one of them had even surpassed the realm of heroes.

After quickly finishing his enemy using an [Exalted Strike] at fifty percent strength, Reinhardt turned his attention toward his subordinates and knights of the other two orders fighting all around the vault.

Seeing that they were doing okay thanks to the buffs of his title, he shifted his attention to the ones that were not there.

[Eyes of Divine Clarity] revealed that destiny was pulling its strings right now. The squires who were supposed to guard the Bloomkeeper outside the vault were at this moment being led by providence toward their own destiny.

If he did something or messed with the strings of fate, it would only lead to disastrous consequences. He could only hope that what providence had for the squires was good.
