Chapter 784: Heading to the Cromwell Kingdom?
Adrian’s gaze bore down on the imperial twins. He didn’t release any killing intent, but the sheer pressure he gave off was suffocating enough.

So suffocating that even the guards stationed outside his study shifted uncomfortably.

But the strange part… the strange part was that whatever Adrian seemed to do didn’t have any effect on the twins.

They remained calm and composed.

Silence.

The king was inwardly shocked and couldn’t help the thought forming in his mind.

‘These people… they’re not Awakened. Even normal Awakened wouldn’t be this calm, so why are they…?’

His thoughts drifted back to a few books he had read about Imperia. The information wasn’t detailed, as even the author clearly lacked concrete knowledge about them, but there was one thing he remembered.

‘The Imperians… are unique. From birth they have already surpassed all human limits, and even their fighting style is formless… by formless, I mean they’re unpredictable.’

“Could this be the reason?”

There was a provocative smile at the corner of the female twin’s lips, clearly enjoying this.

“Like I said before, Your Majesty… we are only here for tourist attraction,” Soren said, that carefree and warm smile still on his face.

Adrian didn’t believe a word. In terms of beauty, Vermilion Kingdom wasn’t even top three in the Human Domain. If they wanted tourism, what happened to Snowhelm?

Although cold, and though Vermilion didn’t see eye to eye with them, their ice landscape was undeniably beautiful.

Apart from that, there was Valerian Kingdom as well… noble and elegant, even their language was eloquent.

Vermilion Kingdom wasn’t even that large anymore after the split from the western region.

There was no way he would believe these two came simply for tourism.

“I will repeat myself again.” Adrian’s tone grew even colder.

But despite his intimidation, the twins maintained their calm exterior.

“Truly, one of the reasons we’re here is because we wanted to see how the Vermilion Kingdom got rid of demons at the same time Imperia did… we figured you’d be quite interesting. And others as well.”

Adrian narrowed his eyes. He vaguely had an idea where this conversation was heading.

“So you heard about it?” he asked, gaze fixed on them.

Soren gave a sheepish smile, as if he’d been caught doing something wrong.

Adrian’s expression tightened slightly.

So that was it.

They wanted information.

“You came all this way because of the Awakening?” he asked slowly.

Soren nodded once. “In Imperia, the balance of power is everything. A new class appearing… is significant.”

“And dangerous,” Selene added bluntly. “If you’re all still alive after a demon invasion, it must be because of that Beast Tamer thing. So we’re curious. That’s all.”

Adrian frowned. “You two are far too calm for people visiting a foreign kingdom.”

Selene tilted her head. “Do we need permission to breathe now?”

Soren sighed internally. “please Forgive her your majesty, She lacks… refinement.”

“Excuse you?” she snapped.

Adrian raised a hand. “Enough. I’ll decide how to deal with you soon. For now, you may explore the kingdom.”

When the twins were gone, he motioned to a knight. “Escort them out of the palace. Keep your distance—but don’t lose sight of them.”

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

—

Meanwhile—Outside the Palace

The cool evening breeze brushed against the siblings’ hair as they stepped out into Vermilion’s bustling capital. Lanterns glowed along the streets, and vendors still shouted over each other despite the late hour.

Soren glanced sideways.

“…They’re following us.”

Selene didn’t bother turning her head. “Obviously. The king doesn’t really trust us.”

A soft chuckle escaped him. “Can you blame him? We showed up unannounced from the furthest kingdom.”

She shrugged, kicking a pebble off the stone walkway. “So what’s now? We just walk around like tourists?”

“For now, yes,” he replied, hands tucked calmly behind his back. “Act normal.”

They strolled down the main street, passing through the market area. The bright glow of lanterns lit up displays of fruits and spices.

Surprisingly, live beasts were caught and kept in cages as well.

“Buy your quality wolf cub! Super strong and fast!”

The twins paused. It was the first time in their lives they’d seen mutated beasts being sold openly on the streets.

Of course, they knew wealthy individuals purchased rare monsters at auctions for the nutrients they provided.

They continued forward moments later, seeing more stalls selling beast. Children accompanied by their parents could be seen purchasing this beast.

Not far behind, shadowing them poorly, were four Vermilion knights.

Selene smirked. “They’re not even trying to be subtle.”

One of the knights almost tripped when she said that loudly.

Soren shook his head lightly. “Don’t tease them. They’re only doing what they were ordered.”

“Hmph.”

They continued walking, slowing as they reached an open square. Musicians played soft tunes. People went on with their lives as if the recent demonic invasion hadn’t scorched half the region.

Soren inhaled quietly.

“This kingdom really is recovering fast.”

Selene didn’t answer at first. Her eyes swept over the crowd… then the guards again.

Finally, she muttered, “…So. If the king doesn’t trust us, do we continue with the plan or change it?”

“Continue,” Soren whispered. “This is the perfect cover.”

Selene raised a brow. “Cover for what?”

He tucked his hands into his pockets and smiled faintly. “Finding out what kind of power this Beast Taming class really is.”

Soren and Selene crossed a stone bridge overlooking the river that cut through the capital.

The guards still trailed them.

They stopped at the center of the bridge, the river shimmering beneath as lanterns flickered on its surface.

Selene leaned over the railing. “Do you think the king noticed?”

“That we intend to leave the capital?” Soren smiled. “Definitely.”

She raised a brow. “And you’re still calm?”

“He needs us to stay predictable. So we’ll pretend we are.”

Selene hummed, then turned around—locking eyes with one of the distant guards, who immediately looked away.

She grinned. “I’m going to enjoy making their lives miserable.”

“Don’t,” he warned.

“I’ll try…” she grumbled. Then she looked at him and asked, “So what now?”

Soren turned to the west and muttered, “…We head toward Cromwell Kingdom. The Emperor’s intel says that’s the kingdom of the one who started everything… Nox Cromwell.”

…

I caught a fever so there won’t be any chapters for Extraction Talent… thanks for supporting this novel!
