Chapter 1353: Frustration
“Aaaahhh!” The emperor slammed his fist on the table. “You haven’t found anything?”
Three elderly people stood in front of him. They were the Grand Tutor, the East General, and the Phoenix Champion.
The East General was a female general. She had a long sword wound that ran from her cheek all the way to her waist. While her face was filled with wrinkles, her eyes still showed their fierceness.
On the other hand, the Phoenix Champion was much younger than the Grand Tutor and the East General, as his hair was still red like the blazing fire of a phoenix, his achievement couldn’t be underestimated. After all, he wielded absolute flame.
The Grand Tutor fell silent for a moment to let the emperor calm himself before saying, “I have searched for the three girls. Because the problem was concluded safely back then, I thought my presence wouldn’t cause a problem. But let alone a problem, I couldn’t even find them. I’m afraid they’ve left the empire.
“Maybe Nathan has used his power to bring them away. As for the Phoenix Champion, he had searched for the prince’s whereabouts, but he was nowhere to be seen. He had visited Ellenwood as well, but it looked like he had abandoned his place.
“He might have hidden the queen as well as the second prince.
“The East General had blocked the route to the dynasty, so we assumed it was the work of a space element.”
After hearing the report, the emperor gritted his teeth. He was powerless as well.
“Your Majesty. You might be overthinking this. Why would you even send the three of us to handle this problem? Besides, we don’t have enough information about this guy. What makes you ask us to handle this matter?” The East General asked.
The emperor paused for a moment before grabbing the letter. “This is the report I received from my sister. This is the person I want to win over.”
The Grand Tutor received the letter and read it together with the East General and the Phoenix Champion.
It had the record of Nathan’s familiars, strength, and everything that happened that night. It dumbstruck them.
Nathan’s familiars alone were enough to justify this action. In fact, other than the Grand Tutor, both of them had their respective families.
His familiars alone had roused their desire to bring Nathan’s genes into the family.
The one that made them feel concerned was his strength. Nathan was simply too young to possess that kind of power. The ability to fight someone much stronger than them was desirable no matter where they were. And no one could predict how strong Nathan would become in a decade or a few decades in the future.
What happened that night truly made them understand why the emperor was this desperate.
“Your Majesty. I didn’t expect you to hide all this from us.” The Phoenix Champion’s expression turned solemn.
“You were my most trusted followers. I thought about bringing this guy to the royal family and introducing him to the three of you so that you can make your own arrangement as long as it doesn’t sour our relationship, but with this…” The emperor’s eyes were filled with anger.
The Phoenix Champion couldn’t say anything after that.
“I can understand why Your Majesty desires him that much.” The Grand Tutor nodded. “It was no wonder when I stopped that fight, I could still see the light in his eyes. He was confident that he could get away from me.
“I thought he would be relying on his women, but he must be planning to fight together to create an opening to teleport them away.
“Besides, the entire problem started with the second prince. At the same time, I couldn’t put the entire blame on him. Because of His Highness’s talent, we turned a blind eye to his conduct.
“This might be the perfect opportunity to keep people in check, no matter who they are. Our empire loves talent, but this place is not heartless. We have our own pride, manners, and elegance.”
The East General nodded. “From the letter, should we just head to get him? Since Her Highness Regina hasn’t returned, it means she is going with him to the Endless Prison. We can just meet him and clarify.”
“Your way of thinking is too inflexible, General.” The Grand Tutor shook his head. “Right now, he is with Lune Eleren. Even if he couldn’t sense us from afar, Luna Eleren shouldn’t have any problem in finding us. And she might have the ability to create a gap for him to teleport.
“Once they are gone and our relationship is completely ruined, I don’t really want to imagine what will happen in the future.”
The Phoenix Champion nodded. “That’s true. Due to his space element, he can escape easily. Luna Eleren has been escaping the empire’s eyes for so long, so once they’re gone, we won’t be able to track them anymore, not accounting for the dynasty’s influence. As a result, trying to kill him is out of the question.
“There were several cases of space element users. People fought them, and they simply disappeared before returning several years later with a power to crush their previous enemies. No matter how hard they chased them, they could get away.”
The emperor covered his eyes.
“So, how are we going to fix this mess?” The East General asked.
“We probably have to fix this misunderstanding first.” The Grand Tutor raised two fingers. “If we go to the dynasty to demand him, we will become a laughingstock. And there’s no way the dynasty will give him to us.
“If Her Highness Regina went to the Endless Prison, it would take some time before she returned. If we could just catch His Highness before that, we could probably handle this situation.”
The emperor nodded. “Anyway, fix the situation first before thinking about the relationship. I want you three to focus on finding the second prince as well as the second queen. I want them to pay the price for causing this mess.
“I will use this as an example to keep the younger generations, who think they own the world, in check.”
“Understood.” The three of them placed their hands on their chests.
