Chapter 1335: Suspicion
“…” Regina was rather speechless seeing the two people in front of her. Nathan was sitting normally, but even he was showing an expression that told her he didn’t know what was going on either.

As soon as they arrived in this room, Luna took a seat next to him and simply ignored all basic etiquette as a noble lady and placed her head on Nathan’s lap.

She just slept as though it weren’t her problem anymore.

For some reason, the doll that carried her coffin took out a blanket as if she had expected this from the beginning.

“Is this even all right?” Nathan asked.

She nodded. “Please don’t mind her. She is harmless unless provoked. Besides, she improves fast when sleeping. She can do everything, but at the same time, can’t do anything. To put it simply, please don’t mind her.”

“…” Nathan didn’t know how to react. But it looked like he had no choice but to ignore her.

He took a deep breath before turning back to Regina. “So…”

Regina gulped down. Even though Nathan didn’t show it openly, he didn’t trust her anymore.

At first, she thought about using this ‘conversation’ to seduce him more boldly. But it looked like Luna had prevented her from doing it.

What lazy? She was actually a schemer. She actually prevented her from making Nathan suspicious.

Regina had two options. The first one was to reveal the truth. But this would be troublesome. He didn’t trust her, so if she revealed this truth, he might end up becoming hostile.

It looked like she had no other choice but to go with the second option.

Regina paused for a moment before explaining, “I have indeed followed you. However, the reason might not be the one you are thinking about right now.”

Nathan’s expression turned solemn. “If not, then what is your reason?”

“Do you remember the second prince?”

“I do.”

“When you fought against him, the matter reached the emperor’s ears directly. The emperor had been aware of your existence because it was also related to the livelihood of the empire, the cloud-repelling device.

“After learning about your existence, the emperor had been interested in you. Knowing the second prince’s character, the emperor recalled me from the front line to protect you. With your talent and strength, you could become a top powerhouse in this world.

“The only one who can protect you from the imperial family is also a member of the imperial family itself, me. With my strength, I could stop the second prince’s family from interfering.

“However, they did something unforgivable. They brought a member of the Death Society. It wasn’t just any member. It was the second strongest, Frequency.

“It was true that I had been following you, but that was to protect you from the second prince.”

Nathan looked down. On the one hand, they might not resort to the Death Society without her existence.

They would believe that the crystal fusion stage summoner earlier, Ellenwood, would be enough against him. But because she was following him, they had to draw an outside power, which happened to be Frequency.

In other words, the situation had gotten worse basically because of her, which was also in line with his weird luck.

Nathan squinted his eyes before asking, “It doesn’t look like you are just interested in my strength, right?”

“!!!” Regina was startled. The truth was that the emperor wanted to sacrifice the second prince to pull Nathan into the imperial family.

In the perfect scenario, she would appear and save him. Then, they would go to the alien territory and experience countless life-and-death situations, which further strengthened their bond. By that time, something might have happened between them.

But Nathan first noticed the poison. Then, she only managed to stop Ellenwood. She even failed to kill him, as Ellenwood ran away after seeing the massive magic circle that lit up the sky.

Still, Ellenwood was severely injured. Even if he could recover, it might not be to his peak. And it would take a lot of time unless he had a familiar like Anubis or a high-grade healing medicine.

In fact, it was indeed better to have Ellenwood escape. She would then conspire with Nathan to fight Ellenwood and the second prince to finally bind him to the imperial family.

But Luna’s existence was beyond her calculation. Luna Eleren was a person who couldn’t be tracked because she had been going around the world just by following her instinct.

There was simply no point in tracking her.

So, she didn’t expect Luna to be here. In addition, if the enemy brought someone other than Frequency, Nathan would last long enough until she could defeat her opponent and save him.

It was thanks to everything that deviated from her plan that she was in this situation.

Regina let out a long sigh before answering his question. “Yes. That’s not the only reason. As I said earlier, the emperor is interested in you. But your identity is rather sensitive. There is no information about you in the empire, so the only explanation is that you come from the Dynasty.

“So, we have to figure out whether you are harming the empire or not.”

“Even though I have sold the devices to the empire?”

“You may do that to lower our guard. No one knows. So, I have come here to meet you to figure out whether you are planning to harm the empire or not.”

Nathan could find flaws in her arguments, but he also noticed some truth, which made him wonder where the lies were. Or everything might be the truth, but she wasn’t telling the full story.

“That’s why…” Regina lowered her head. “Once again, I’d like to apologize. I don’t mean any harm.”

Nathan closed his eyes for a moment. “So, how about the Endless Prison?”

“Do you mind if we go together?” Regina asked. Her eyes were glazing as if she were about to cry.

Nathan considered everything carefully. On the one hand, Luna’s strength might be enough. On the other hand, there was no telling what the emperor would do after this.
