Chapter 474: One last struggle
Chapter 474

[Fire cage]

[Frost wind]

[Ice domain]

[Lightning bind]

[Distortion]

[Blum blossom heaven slash]

[Flame Breath]

Various attacks fell on the woman who tried her best to protect herself, but due to the sudden increase in attacks, even she had to take a defensive stance and struggle against so many opponents.

The most troublesome among all the other newcomers were three individuals. A young woman with white hair and crystalline blue eyes, a man with a sword she was well familiar with as the sect master of the Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect, and the last one was a man with a flaming personality.

Quite literally.

Not only did his attacks consist of nothing but flame, but his straightforwardness and eagerness to take charge and constantly rain down attacks on her, forgetting about his own safety, depicted how much of a hot-headed person he was.

‘But…’

The old woman thought as she did her best to defend and counterattack, but one thing was apparent more than ever. With the current combination, she wasn’t going to live. All her companions were dead, and her master was nowhere to be seen. One against many, the chances were not ideal, and she knew that.

‘Since I’m dying anyway…’ She determined herself to fight to her last breath and take at least one of them with her if not all of them, and the one she decided on was the weakest among all of them.

Her gaze landed on only one person among all of them, and expending all of her Qi, she jumped at her target. Seeing such a sudden burst of Qi, everyone was momentarily shocked and couldn’t react. Not until it was very late at least.

‘Huh…?’ Xia Lu didn’t have time to register much of her surroundings as she saw a hand laced in dark Qi heading for her head. She didn’t even have enough time to look back at her life as the hand came dangerously close.

But…

“Kugh!”

It stopped. Everything stopped. The old woman looked down at the hand peeking out of her abdomen, the blood seeping out, and the red nails on the hand inside of her.

“You really should learn to control your eyes.” She heard an icy, cold voice as she turned around to see who it was. She was shocked to see the deep red eyes of the man who was fighting her earlier looking back at her.

‘I miscalculated.’ Was her last thought before she succumbed to eternal sleep? She really did. As Morial retracted his hand, the old woman fell to the ground, her eyes lifeless.

Natasha approached Morial among many shocked and awkward, not knowing what to say.

“How did you do that?” Natasha asked.

“I’m a mage.” Morial simply replied and walked away, without even waiting for Xia Lu to say thanks.

Given his extensive battle experience, he had easily figured out the frustration of the old woman, and seeing her eyes was just a bonus. All he had to do was cement an image of a hothead who was reckless enough for her to assume there was no one among them who could use advanced magic.

Dragon kin, however, could use various magic at various levels. Granted, they were most proficient in flame, but they also had a good grasp of different elements of magic.

Having figured out her intentions, Morial moved as soon as the old woman did and arrived behind her while she was fully focused on her target and finished it in one go.

“What now?” Luo Li asked.

“Now we prepare.” Song Huan replied.

~~

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Their fists collided and shockwaves dispersed into their surroundings. If there were clouds, birds, or anything else in the sky around them, now there was nothing. Not one thing.

‘Ugh! Why can’t I land a hit?’ The man couldn’t help but ask himself inwardly as their punches collided once again. At the beginning of their battle, he was on the edge, delivering damage to Wei Jun that Wei Jun had to bear with a great amount of effort.

However, with the passage of time, it was like Wei Jun had been able to shorten the gap between them, becoming more accustomed to his opponent’s attacks, taking less and less damage from his attacks.

On the contrary, Wei Jun’s attacks were also rising in intensity. They were sharper already, but they were also becoming stronger as time passed. The conclusion he arrived at was only one.

Either Wei Jun was growing with the passage of time, or…

‘No way.’ A thought crept into his mind. Although the thought was ridiculous, and the probability of Wei Jun growing with each passing second was higher, he still couldn’t help but shake the thought away, no matter how hard he tried.

He looked deep into his core, reaching down to confirm his theory even though he still thought of it as incomprehensible.

But…

His eyes went wide when he examined his Qi core. Where once the core of a Qi saint was now the core of a Qi emperor. His cultivation had decreased. The horrifying thought crept up on his face as his expression changed to pure horror, and his face paled more than it already was.

“Too late.” Wei Jun said those words with a smirk as a sword appeared in his hands, and he slashed at the man, and the man, who could easily dodge them before, had great difficulty dodging them this time.

Just that proved his theory. It showed him that he wasn’t dreaming. He really had downgraded by one realm.

“NO!”

Anger seeped up on his face, his body trembled, his power threatened to shake the sky itself as a black aura enveloped him.

“I refuse to believe thi–bliirrghh!!!”

Mid-speech, he received a punch that distorted his facial features, fractured his nose, and damaged many of his teeth, and while that happened, his tongue was also bitten by the remnant of his teeth, increasing the pain he felt by another notch.

“Whether you choose to or not to…” Wei Jun said as the man flew away from the force of the impact of his punch. Wei Jun shot at him in the air, bashing into him with full force and flying towards the ground, “Reality doesn’t change.”

[Will of the roaring dragon]

Boom!!!

One final shockwave to his stomach, and the man was sent to the ground with double the force of before.

“There they come.” At the ground, everyone saw the man falling down like a shooting star and crashing into the ground, raising a cloud of dust that forced everyone to shut their eyes.

Still silence. There was nothing said or done for a while. The man tried to push himself up with great effort, given the state of his injuries and his depleted stamina. The others kept rooted on their spot, looking at the once fearful figure reduced to such a sorry state.

Amidst the man’s grunts to pull himself up…

Bang!!!

Another strong force shook their surroundings as Wei Jun landed on top of the man, his legs buried into his stomach as he looked down at him, coughing and trying to catch his breath.

Bang!

A punch to his face pushed him down again as Wei Jun gathered Qi in his hand and shot it at him in the form of a beam.

[Absorption activated]

[Direct contact detected]

[Target’s innate darkness would be absorbed]

[Death Qi +1,914,778]

[Death Qi +2,000,219]

[Death Qi +…]

[Death …]

[Dea…]

[…]

[…]

[…]

Punches rained down on the man who could only defend himself with his arms crossed on his face, trying to bear the pressure, but the force was increasing with each punch.

No, it wasn’t the force that was increasing. It was his power that was decreasing.

‘No.’

No.

No.

No.

No.

Again and again, as his power decreased, the reality of the situation dawned on him. His hair began to turn white, and the cycle of age began to catch up with him. The years he had obtained with his cultivation began to leave him with the loss of his cultivation.

And all he could do was just lie there and let the young man take it all away. All his hard work. All his achievements.

“NO!!!!”

“I will not have this!!!!”

Boom!!!

One final struggle.

One final effort to keep his power intact. To remain who he was. One final struggle to live.

It all boiled down to that one moment.

“AAAAAHHHH!!!!”

A strong force shook the city. All said and done, he was still at the level of a Qi emperor with the loss of his cultivation. He possessed enough strength to take down a city, and if all of his power was released at once, even Wei Jun wouldn’t be able to defend against it, let alone the others.

“AAAHHH!!!”

A strong force shook the city as the storm of Qi threatened to swallow everything. It was one final struggle. The final struggle warranted everything he had.

It was time to kill everyone.

Even the cost of his life.
