Chapter 512: You Have Nowhere To Hide
“This is him! He’s over here!”

“The criminal is here! Tell the soldiers he’s here!”

“Get him!”

The people all around began to circle Jason to prevent him from escaping, and someone quickly tried to grab Jason from behind, but the man was blindsided by one of Jason’s subordinates who kicked him to the ground! Jason grabbed Gina and pulled her into his Alternate Dimension before someone else could grab her hand, and he immediately activated a skill!

[Camouflage] has been activated!

This is a skill that Jason got from the Diamond Bears a long time ago, and Jason felt the light around him bend away as he turned invisible!

“Where did he go!?”

“He was right here!”

“Look for him! They’re paying a lot of money for him!”

The people all around Jason began to shout when they saw Jason vanish, and the entire festival suddenly turned into a massive manhunt for Jason and Gina! There were many Machina officers moving through the festival, and they headed straight for where the festival goers said Jason had been! Jason smiled as he calmly walked down the sidewalk away from the crowd, and he looked down when he saw a child looking right at him. The child had rainbow-coloured eyes that glowed brightly, and Jason figured that the child had some sort of skill that allowed him to see in different light spectrums and that allowed the child to see through the [Camouflage] skill. Jason put his finger up to his lips to tell the child to stay silent, and the child smiled happily and waved at Jason! Jason just laughed as everyone around turned to where the child was waving, and they shouted!

“He’s over here! Grab him!”

“Dog pile him! The Machina soldiers are already on their way!”

“Where’s Floki the giant! We’ll need him to hold this bastard!”

The people immediately jumped to try and grab Jason before he could escape, and Jason could hear the sound of energy blasts going off as the Machina shot at him, but before the blasts could reach him, Jason got a message from his subordinate, and he let out a huff and activated a skill!

[King’s Substitute] has been activated!

Jason vanished from the festival as he switched places with his subordinate, and he reappeared in the middle of an alleyway between two large houses in the city. The alleyway was covered in shadows and filled with wastebins, and Jason turned to open the Dimensional Tear.

BLAST!

A defensive shield automatically activated from a rune on Jason’s back and blocked an energy blast from behind him! Jason turned around calmly, and he narrowed his eyes at the Machina soldiers standing there. Jason thought he had lost these fuckers.

The woman in front was the same one Jason had seen on the holographic screen earlier. Her name was Yelena, right? Yelena was pointing a dangerous-looking Raygun at Jason with twenty other soldiers behind her, and Jason could see from her expression that she was not going to back down without a fight here! Yelena had been tracking Jason’s mana signature all this time, and she knew that Jason was going to eventually try to find the closest Dimensional Tear out of this world. So while most of her soldiers were in the festival, Yelena had followed the traces of Jason’s mana in this direction, and that was how she managed to reach this Dimensional Tear so quickly! Yelena took a step forward and spoke in a calm voice.

“That was just a warning shot. The next one will be far more dangerous, and you will not be able to block it. This is your only chance, criminal. Drop to your knees and come in with us quietly. We already know every single Dimensional Tear that you will try to take in the future, and we have all our sensors locked on your magical signature. You have nowhere to run, and you have nowhere to hide. The Machina will always find you.”

Jason’s hands were in his coat pockets as he watched Yelena give her speech, and when she was finished, he felt a strange amusement bubble up from inside him. Jason had never been threatened like this before, so it was a new feeling for him. But what Yelena had said about them having his magical signature irritated him to a certain degree. Does this mean that no matter where he went, the Machina would be able to follow him there? Jason clicked his tongue, and he eventually decided that it didn’t matter. Rubik probably already knew where he was going, so there was nothing Jason could do about it now. Jason would just have to deal with anyone who stands in his way. Jason ignored the Machina and turned around to walk to the Dimensional Tear, and Yelena shouted!

“I said stop! By order of Lord Rubik, you are under—”

Jason waved his hand and spoke calmly.

“Get rid of them.”

Yelena’s eyes suddenly widened in shock as she felt death approaching from behind her! Yelena immediately turned around and brought up her mechanical arm, and a metallic clang echoed through the area as the Sovereign slammed his sword into her arm! Yelena was thrown back from the blow, and she slammed through the wall of the building behind her! The other soldiers began to open fire on the Sovereign, and the Sovereign brought out the [Diamond Matrix Shield] to block the attacks!

Shatter!

But the Sovereign was shocked when the shield suddenly shattered into millions of pieces, and the blasts slammed into him! The rayguns that the Machina were using had been designed by the Machina Engineers to produce a maximum output that could easily harm a high-level SSS-Rank, so the S-Rank shield didn’t stand a chance against it! The Sovereign used his sword to block some of the blasts, and he swung the blade in a wide arc and unleashed a blast of fire that threw everyone away from him!

BOOOM!

The Machina soldiers grunted as they were thrown back from the explosion, and the Sovereign moved away just as Yelena unleashed a laser beam on the spot where he had just been! The Sovereign took a few more steps away before falling into the shadows, and Yelena looked up sharply when she felt an intense surge of mana from above them! Trigon appeared on top of a large building and roared down at them!

ROARRR!!!

“SHIELDS!”

Yelena shouted to her men when she realised what was about to happen, and all the Machina soldiers put their hands up and produced large blue shields that covered their bodies!

PHWOOMM!!

Trigon quickly unleashed a blast of fire that raced down to the soldiers, and the soldiers all held on tight as the intense flames slammed into them! In the midst of the soldiers, Yelena was also holding on to her shield, but she glanced to the side and frowned in anger when she saw Jason smiling at them before he turned and casually walked through the Dimensional Tear! Yelena swore she was going to kill that man, but first she needed to get rid of this dragon!

Jason appeared in another world, and he let out a small sigh as he looked around calmly. Jason was sure that this wasn’t the last he would see of the Machina, but Jason left the Sovereign, Trigon, and Evon behind and told them to take care of this particular group, so Jason knew they wouldn’t be getting out of that battle alive.

ROARRRR!!

Ragnar appeared from Jason’s Alternate Dimension with a roar, and Jason quickly mounted the dragon before Ragnar pushed off the ground and began to move through the new world that was filled with large forests and running rivers. The entire scenery was extremely beautiful, and the water running across the world was pristine and glowed with a glistening light reflected from the sun above! It was so clean that Jason actually felt like going down to take a drink from one of the rivers, but he decided that he should first gain some distance from the Machina, so he kept moving! Gina appeared behind Jason and wrapped her hands around his waist, and Jason smiled back at her before he leaned forward and told Ragnar to go faster!
