Chapter 510: The Journey Begins
Gina called on Jason so that they would leave, and Jason nodded to Gina before he gave the Faceless Keeper a few words.
“Thank you for the earlier warning about the Machina. I’ll repay that kindness one day.”
“I did nothing that requires your gratitude. If you wish to show gratitude, then show it towards Lord C’thlyanu for his involvement.”
Jason let out a small sigh before smiling.
“Alright, then, please pass my thanks to him. I won’t forget it.”
The Faceless Keeper bowed to Jason.
“I will ensure your message reaches the Lord. It has been a pleasure serving you, and I wish you safety in your travels.”
Jason walked toward the Dimensional Tear and took Gina’s hand, and he turned around as multiple beams of blue light erupted from the ground behind them! The beams dimmed down to reveal various Machina soldiers, and they all raised their mechanical arms towards Jason and Gina while shouting for them to stop! Gina glared at them in anger, and Jason only scoffed as he turned and walked into the Dimensional Tear.
“I SAID STOP!!”
The soldiers opened fire on Jason and Gina, but the Sovereign suddenly surged out from the ground behind Jason and slammed the large [Diamond Matrix Shield] into the ground!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The giant shield reflected the energy beams back at the soldiers, and the soldiers screamed as they were struck by their own attacks! Once the soldiers were down, the Sovereign quickly walked back through the Dimensional Tear as well before it finally closed and vanished!
….
[The world of Yuvin
[Rank: II]
A blue line tore across space in the middle of a wide field before expanding into a wide circle, and Jason and Gina walked out from the Dimensional Tear and stepped into the wide field. Jason looked around with narrowed eyes to try to pick out any enemies, but there was no one for as far as the eye could see! It was almost like this entire section of the world had been abandoned a long time ago! Jason looked towards Gina, and he raised a brow when he noticed the look on her face.
“What are you so happy about?”
There was a wide smile on Gina’s face as she stood beside Jason, and Gina’s cheeks grew slightly red when she heard Jason’s question! Gina tried to kill her blush, but she just couldn’t do it since she was so excited at that moment! Right now, Gina and Jason were both fugitives from the law, and even though they were going to be facing a lot of danger in the future, Gina couldn’t help but enjoy the moment with Jason! It almost felt like they were Bonnie and Clyde, and they were running from the evil government trying to get between them! Gina’s blush increased once she thought about this, and Gina shook her head at Jason! There was no way she could say something like that to him! It was so embarrassing! Jason patted Gina’s head with a small laugh before he started talking to the system about where they would have to go.
[The next ten worlds the user will travel into are all Rank II and below; therefore, the user does not have anything to fear from them. The user must be wary of the eleventh world, Rig’lah, as well as the twenty-fifth and forty-third worlds, Govena and Yeman. These worlds are Rank III and they have been known to be in contact with the Overlord at one point or another, so there is a high chance of the user getting attacked the moment he steps into these worlds.]
Jason read through all this, and he frowned before he quickly called on multiple Pawns in his Legion. The entire region was suddenly filled with the Pawns, and Jason ordered them to spread out and move through the shadows to survey the area. If they notice anything out of place or if they notice anything that was too strong for them to handle on their own, they should inform him immediately! The subordinates did as they were told, and Jason finally called on Ragnar!
ROARRR—!
“Oi, calm down, you bastard. You’re going to alert everyone to where we are.”
Jason frowned up at the large beast, and Ragnar’s head dropped sadly at the reprimand! Gina laughed as she rubbed the side of Ragnar’s head and told him not to be sad! Jason was just trying to look out for them! Ragnar huffed as it rubbed itself into Gina while giving Jason a pouting look, and Jason rolled his eyes and patted the beast on the side before he moved to get on its back. Jason helped Gina up as well, and he told Ragnar to take off quickly. Ragnar pushed off the ground and flew high over the fields of Yuvin, and Jason followed the system’s instructions to reach the area where he would open the next Dimensional Tear. Surprisingly, there were no people at all in this world, even though it was breathtakingly beautiful, and Jason wondered what had happened to make it so empty. But Jason didn’t care enough to ask, and a few hours later, Ragnar landed on a large mountain at their location. Jason got down and opened another Dimensional Tear for him and Gina to pass through.
The next world they got into was named Junta, and it was raining so much in this world that Jason could barely see anything more than a mile in front of him. There were a few people who looked like farmers tending to some strange crops that floated on beds of water and they turned to glance at Jason and Gina in shock when they saw them walk out of the Dimensional Tear. But Jason ignored them since this was also a safe world, and Ragnar took off into the sky again as they headed for the location of the next dimensional Tear. Things continued smoothly like this for a while, and the two lovers didn’t run into any trouble, and it wasn’t until they reached the eleventh world that they ran into the Machina again.
….
Captain Yelena Frost had always known she would become a general. Right from the moment she was born from an incubation pod in the world of the Machina, she had always possessed a strong body and a Cybertron gene that put everyone else in her age group to shame. She was powerful and vindictive, and according to her teachers, these were the traits that any successful General needed to possess in order to lead properly. The first mechanical implant that she got was an arm replacement on her fifth birthday. It was only the third time that a child that young would be getting a mechanical replacement, and Yelena couldn’t help but feel like she had joined some exclusive group made up of only the greatest Machina. The next mechanical replacement she got was a torso replacement that would help her stamina, and then she got leg replacements to help her speed and eye replacements to increase her reaction time. All of these were done in less than five years, and by the time she was ten years old, Yelena was one of the most augmented members of the Machina race.
Yelena had joined the military immediately after graduating from combat school, and she rose through the ranks of the military so quickly that she began to draw the jealousy of other Machina who weren’t as blessed as she was. But Yelena didn’t care about them. They were nothing but pebbles on the seashore. They were just pawns that she would have to control in the middle of battle, and their opinion of her didn’t matter since she was more powerful than they could ever be. Yelena always knew that she would be a great General, and at this moment, she finally found herself at the edge of her dream.
