Strongest Necromancer System - Chapter 405
Chapter 405: Binding Chains
In truth, Cersai wasn’t worried. Cersai knew that there were already search parties looking for him all around the world, and the tracker inside his body was already broadcasting his location, so they would be here soon. And even if they didn’t come in time, Cersai had a backup plan that had gotten him out of trouble thousands of times before. Teleportation. Cersai could teleport out of here anytime he wanted, and the only reason why Cersai had stayed this long was because he wanted to figure out what Jason was planning. But Cersai didn’t like the way Jason had looked at him just then. There was something dangerous in Jason’s eyes, so Cersai decided he couldn’t risk staying here to find out what Jason was planning.
‘I can’t believe I have to waste a teleportation for this nonsense. I won’t be able to do it again for a while.’
Cersai’s organisation, Gaia, had developed a teleportation device using the gift of one of their members, and it allowed selected individuals in the organisation to move across great distances with nothing but a thought. But the only drawback was that you could only use it three times in a twenty-four-hour day. Cersai had already used the teleportation twice today, so he knew that using it just one more time was his limit. But it was worth it if he could get away from this monster. Cersai quickly thought about moving back to China, and he waited for the teleportation magic to activate, but he was surprised when he didn’t sense any changes. He furrowed his brow and looked down at his hands. What was going on? Cersai tried it again, but there was still nothing. But this time, Cersai finally noticed that there was something under his legs.
‘Is that a rune?’
Cersai felt his eyes widen in shock as he noticed that he was standing in the middle of a circular rune! What the hell was this!?
Cersai didn’t recognise the rune at all, but what he was standing in was a rune called the [Null Zone]. It was something that Azrael had created during his time as a researcher, and it had the unique ability to nullify all forms of magic that anyone tried to activate while inside the rune! This meant that no gift, artefact, or magical weapon would work while inside that rune! Cersai didn’t know this, but he was able to deduce that this rune was the reason for him not being able to teleport, and he was about to step out of it, but he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he turned to see the man in black holding him in place. Three other figures in black rose from the shadows around him to make sure he didn’t have anywhere to go, and Cersai let out a sigh as he realised that he was trapped here.
‘This isn’t good. I can only hope that the trackers are already on their way. The tracker in my heart is sending signals every thirty seconds, so I should expect Fredrica to come soon. I just have to stall until then.’
Cersai turned to Jason to see what he was doing, but Jason’s back was to him, so the only thing Cersai could see was that Jason was working on some sort of paper. Jason had a look of concentration on his face as he slowly drew out a rune on a paper, and he frowned when he almost made a mistake.
‘Take it easy, my King. This is only your first rune, so it will take time to get used to it. Taking things slow is the best approach to runecrafting.’
Azrael’s voice echoed through Jason’s head, and Jason hummed as he continued to draw the rune. Jason was using a long cylindrical brush to draw the rune, and the brush fit into his hands perfectly because it had been made for him. The rune that Jason was currently crafting was something that he couldn’t allow anyone else to make. There was an intimate bond that every rune crafter had with their rune. The art of runecrafting was more than just the process of putting ink on paper. Every movement you make, the sweat you pour into your rune, and the thoughts you have while crafting a rune would also contribute to the strength and connection your rune possesses. The reason why Jason had been able to form a connection with the [Death’s Mirage] even though Azrael was the one that created the rune was because of the connection he had with Azrael, but Azrael had told Jason that for the rune he wanted to make now, he would need to create it himself so it would work exactly how he wanted it to, and so Jason had commanded Azrael to help him create his personal runebrush, and now Azrael was instructing Jason as he drew out the rune using his mana.
‘My King, the line needs to be sharper around the edge. Yes, flow the foundation line into the second level. The foundation and key need to be interconnected, but there should be a distinct difference in their layout so your mana will find the key first. Yes, that’s perfect. Very well done, my King.’
Jason let out a huff as he looked down at the rune in front of him. This rune was a fourth-grade rune that would normally be impossible for any Red Class Rune Crafter to create, but thanks to Jason’s mastery of the Aruna language as well as Azrael’s guidance, Jason was able to create it in less than an hour.

This was perfect. Jason nodded as he read through the rune description, and he looked over the rune again to make sure that everything was exactly how they should be. In truth, Jason had been hoping that things would never get this far. Jason had only been a part of the world of superhumans for about a month now, and Jason had tried his best to come to terms with some of the more twisted things that he had seen. There was a lot of evil out there, both on Earth as well as in other worlds, and Jason knew he had to accept that this was just how the world works. But Jason couldn’t just turn a blind eye to Cersai anymore. Jason knew that the evil out in the Primordial Expanse was something outside of his control. The rules of the world dictate that the strong would rule over the weak, so there was nothing that could go against that rule, but even though Jason was realistic enough to accept that this was the rule of the world, there were limits to how much bullshit Jason was willing to take from those around him. Jason had warned Cersai that he would not be getting another chance, and Jason was a man of his word.
