Chapter 396: So We’re Rich-Rich!?
Everyone at the dinner table fell silent when they saw how much Mira was crying, and Mira tried her best to control herself while cleaning her eyes, but no matter how hard she tried, the tears just wouldn’t stop coming!

“I’m so proud of you, baby. I’m so proud!”

Mira could never forget how difficult things had been for Jason for a long time after his father vanished. Jason had worked multiple jobs, and he took the weight of the family on his shoulders! Even though Mira worked in the restaurant, she knew that what she made there would not have been enough to cover all the expenses that they had to take care of! It was all because of Jason’s sacrifices that they could live comfortably for so long! So, seeing her son make so much money hit her heart in an intense way, and she couldn’t stop the surge of joy that filled her at that moment! Jason gently cupped his mother’s cheek before using his thumb to clean her tears with a smile.

“I know I can’t ask you to leave the restaurant and retire since you love it so much, but I promise you won’t ever have to worry about anything again, Mum. I’ll give you everything you ever wanted and more, so just enjoy yourself.”

Jason felt his mother press her cheek into his hand while laughing gently, and he felt a surge of love fill his heart when he saw her give him a proud smile.

“I’m so proud of you, Jason.”

Mira had already said she was proud multiple times today, but for some reason, she just felt like repeating it again! She couldn’t even put into words how happy she was for Jason, so it was like her brain was just filtering the same words over and over! Jason smiled at her, but his attention was suddenly pulled away as his phone rang. Jason raised a brow when he saw that it was Juliet, and he told his mother he would be back and went to answer her call since he knew that it could be important.

Back at the table, Maya asked Mira if they could move to a mansion since they were now rich, and Mira just laughed and told Maya to eat her food! This was their family house and they weren’t leaving it! Mira then turned and asked Gina how the mission on Radagan had gone. Riyala was smiling at the interaction between the family, and she was surprised when she saw a wolf’s head poke out from the ground beside her. Fenrir! Riyala smiled at the wolf, and she looked from left to right to make sure no one could see the wolf before she grabbed a large piece of meat and threw it into Fenrir’s mouth! Fenrir grabbed it easily and let out a loud yip in thanks, and all the girls in the room jumped in fright once they heard it! But Fenrir had already vanished, so Riyala just smiled and shrugged when they asked her what made that sound!

The dinner table was a lot more lively after that, and the girls were all talking about what had happened in Radagan and how the fighting had gone, and by the time Jason came back, Maya had moved closer to Riyala, and she was looking at the scales on her cheeks and her sharp teeth with awe on her face!

“The scales are like heat regulators. They help me retain heat even in cold environments, and they’re also really strong, so they don’t break easily. My diet is mostly meat, so that’s why my teeth are so sharp. I can tear into you with one bite.”

Riyala acted like she was going to bite Maya, and Maya laughed before she touched Riyala’s scales with a wide smile!

“You’re so cool~!”

Riyala blushed at the praise.

“I just hope you’re not after my onii-chan as well. If you try to take him from me, I’ll kick your ass!”

Riyala’s expression immediately turned awkward when she heard Maya say this, and she chuckled in distress as the little girl glared up at her like some sort of judge! Mira told Maya to watch her language or she would ground her, and Maya cried out in fear as she quickly apologized! Jason stood behind his mother and put his hands on her shoulders before saying:

“Sorry guys, I have to go to a press conference.”

Mira put her hand on Jason’s own and looked up at him worriedly.

“Did something happen?”

“No, nothing like that. I told my manager that I’d do a press conference as soon as possible, and she somehow managed to get the press to gather already. I’ll be gone for a while, so just have fun together, alright?”

Jason leaned down and kissed his mother’s cheek happily before he put his hand out and caught Maya when she suddenly bolted toward him!

“Easy there, speedster. You’re gonna hurt yourself.”

“Are you leaving already!? But you just got here!”

“I know, I know, I wish I could stay, but I need to deal with this. You’ll be a good girl for Mum and Gina, won’t you?”

Jason smiled when Maya suddenly pouted, and he pressed his nose against her own and spoke softly.

“I’ll buy you something nice when I come back. How does that sound?”

Maya immediately brightened up, and her smile widened as she shouted!

“Buy me a car!”

Jason chuckled.

“Do you even know how to drive?”

“I’ll learn! Buy me a Ferrari! A pink Ferrari with red racing stripes! I want a Ferrari!”

“Young lady, what did I tell you about climbing on your brother? And stop asking for expensive things. You need to learn how to manage money properly.”

Maya frowned at this and huffed while hugging Jason tighter, but Jason just laughed and kissed her chubby cheek before whispering.

“I’ll send you some money for those new headphones you were telling me about.”

Maya immediately brightened again, and she hugged her brother tightly!

“Thank you!!”

Mira sighed as she watched the siblings interact. Even though she always tried to make Maya less attached to Jason, it was moments like these that completely ruined all her hard work! Jason was completely in love with his sister, and he wasn’t afraid to use everything he had to spoil her rotten! He was literally incapable of resisting her cuteness! Jason tickled Maya softly, and she began to laugh while hugging him tighter, and at the side, Gina leaned towards Riyala and whispered something in her ear. Riyala’s eyes widened, and she looked at Gina with a questioning gaze to ask if she was sure, and Gina nodded with a smile. Riyala’s cheeks reddened in a blush as she ducked her head, and Gina made sure that Riyala nodded back to her before she smiled and backed off.

Gina had noticed recently that Riyala had been keeping a distance from Jason for some reason, and it was almost like Riyala was too shy to get close to Jason like before, so Gina decided that she would orchestrate things so that Riyala and Jason would have some time to themselves. Gina stood up and walked over to Jason and Maya. Jason turned to her with a wide smile, and Maya frowned at her and tightened her hold around Jason’s neck with a possessive look on her face. But Gina ignored Maya’s glare as she leaned over and kissed Jason softly, and she had to hold back her laughter when she saw the scandalous look on Maya’s face! Maya looked like someone had just killed her dog, and Gina continued to ignore Maya’s glare as she spoke softly to Jason.

“Go home after the interview, alright? I’ll come meet you there.”

Jason raised a brow at her and wondered why she wanted him to go home instead of coming back here. But Jason decided that this was a good idea since this house would be too small for all of them to stay in anyway.
