Chapter 395: I’ll Buy Whatever You Want
But things were different whenever Jason gave a mission to the Phantoms. Even when Gaia had kidnapped Riyala, Alpha was still capable of handling the unexpected situation in a reasonable way to make sure Riyala wasn’t harmed. But from what Jason could see now, this particular skill would allow him to improve the independent action of the subordinates who weren’t very smart. Jason grinned in excitement as he thought about how useful this skill would be in the future! At least this way, he could send out more subordinates on independent missions without worrying about them at all.

‘This means putting the subordinates into training was the right choice. Whenever they aren’t fighting for me, I’ll leave them to train in the Alternate Dimension and improve their independent action skill. It’s a win-win.’

“Here you go, baby.”

Mira put a hand on Jason’s shoulder as she finally finished setting the table with Gina and Janet helping her out, and Jason smiled up at her and thanked her for the meal. Mira kissed Jason on the temple before she sat down at his side and told everyone to dig in. The entire family started to eat together while exchanging light conversation, and Jason spoke up calmly.

“Mum, how are things going with the restaurant? I heard some reporters showed up.”

Jason reached over to collect the plate of chicken and gravy that Gina handed him and Mira brightened up once she heard Jason say this! Mira quickly told him that things were going great!

“Business has been going splendidly! The reporters were only an issue for a few hours, but then the nice soldiers came to chase them away. And can you believe this, I got a call from the landlord, and he told me that he’s planning to sell the entire building! He’s willing to let it go for a cheap price, and I think I might just buy it!”

Jason was immediately shocked when he heard this, and he wondered what the hell had gotten into the landlord. Jason still remembered calling that man earlier, and it was obvious from their conversation that the man had been planning to sell the building to someone else. Why did he suddenly change his mind? And why was he selling it for cheap!? Jason began to worry that there was something else going on, but he decided that he wouldn’t allow it to bother him for now. The building was a good investment, and as long as everything was fine, Jason didn’t care about what the landlord was thinking.

What Jason didn’t know was that a lot of politics had gone into giving his mother that building. The landlord had actually been planning to sell the building to the father of Jared Cass, the bully that Jason had slapped when he was in high school. Jared’s father had been planning to turn the entire building into one of the branches of his chain of restaurants, but everything had changed after Liam took over as the new Director of the SMD. As the Director, Liam had a lot of sway in government, and the moment Liam heard that someone was planning to buy off the building that Jason Marc’s mother was using to run a restaurant, he had almost lost his mind! How could people be so fucking stupid!? These people saw Jason Marc being hailed as one of the most powerful superhumans in the world, and they had the audacity to try and sabotage the business of that man’s mother!? Liam immediately contacted the building owner, and in almost no time at all, he threatened him into making sure he didn’t sell that building to Jared Cass’s father and promised that he would make things very hard for him if this situation ended up getting them on Jason’s bad side! Needless to say, the building owner decided it was better to listen to the government in that situation, and he immediately contacted Mira and told her that he was willing to negotiate for the building with her!

Jason didn’t know any of this, so he just said:

“You don’t need to worry about the building. I’ll buy it for you.”

Mira looked at Jason in shock when she heard this, and even the two sisters looked at him in surprise. Jason raised a brow at the surprised looks on their faces, and he asked them what was wrong.

“Jason, baby, you don’t need to worry about the building. I have a lot saved up from the restaurant, so I can take care of the building. I know you just bought a new place with Gina, so I’m sure money is tight.”

Jason scoffed in a light amusement when he heard his mother say this, and he had to struggle not to laugh! Even Gina put her hands over her face to try and stop the laugh that she knew was about to come out, and Jason chuckled when he saw how hard Gina was trying not to laugh! Did his mother just say that he was short on money!? Really? Jason was not the sort of person to brag at all! He didn’t care about making others aware of how rich or well-off he was, and he didn’t buy a lot of luxury items, so no one would ever know how much he was worth from the things he wore, but there were some times when you just had to say something! And this was one of those times.

Jason took out his phone and he calmly scrolled down to one of the recent transactions that he did with Juliet’s company, Tenet. He opened up the transaction to show how much had entered his account, and he slowly slid his phone across the table to his mother. Mira was a little confused by Jason’s action, but she didn’t ask any questions as she took the phone and took a good look at it. Her eyes narrowed, and a look of confusion came over her face before she frowned. She leaned into the phone for a moment, and she turned to Jason in disbelief before she turned back to the phone to try to get a better look. How many zeros were in there?

“J-Jason, baby, what is this?”

“That’s my account, mum.”

“This is… one, two, five, six, seven! A hundred million! Baby, where did you get this sort of money from!?”

Mira immediately turned to Jason in absolute shock! Mira had never even seen this sort of money in her life! It was the sort of thing that you would only expect to hear about on television when they were talking about government spending or stupid billionaires wasting money! It wasn’t something she ever expected to see in her son’s bank account! Mira knew that superhumans could make a lot of money in a very short time, but this was absurd! Maya and Janet had been listening quietly all this time, but the moment they heard Mira shout out a hundred million, they both dropped their forks! Maya’s eyes sparkled, and she shouted:

“We’re fucking rich!”

“Language, young lady!”

Mira shouted back to Maya, but Maya was too busy shaking in excitement to even listen to her! Janet just looked like a deer in headlights as she stared at Jason, and there was a strange look on her face as she wondered where he got all this from. Janet wasn’t surprised that Jason was better off than before since she always heard about how superhumans made a lot of money, but Jason had only been a superhuman for a month at most! It wasn’t normal for anyone to make a hundred million in a month! Jason just laughed as he saw Maya dancing on her chair, and he spoke up.

“I’ll get you the whole street if you want, mum. Just tell me what you want, and it’s yours.”

Jason smiled as he saw tears coming to his mother’s eyes, and he put his hand over her own as she started to hiccup while crying at the table.
