Chapter 332: Heated Confrontation
Bunbun, the bunny girl, shivered slightly, feeling the oppressive atmosphere radiating from Leon, but she continued with her explanation. She started telling Mr. Leon everything that had happened exactly four hours ago inside the same Adventurer’s Guild.
It was morning. She and Sylphia had just woken up—not naturally, but from the commotion happening inside the Adventurer’s Guild where they were staying in the VIP room reserved for high-ranking adventurers.
She had entered the main hall along with her friend Sylphia. She still felt a twinge of jealousy about the fact that four-star adventurers had such amazing perks and privileges, but she quickly erased those thoughts and focused on explaining the incident properly. This was far more important than her petty envy.
She recalled how Leon’s two wives had been surrounded by a lot of thugs—maybe twenty or thirty of them—and their weapons were already drawn. They were locked in a heated confrontation about something she couldn’t quite hear from a distance.
Sylphia had immediately told her to watch from afar and stay hidden. Her friend had given her specific instructions: “If Leon comes back, tell him everything that happened here. Don’t leave out any details.”
Then Sylphia had joined the heated debate herself, which seemed to revolve around something about a world-class monster. The discussion had been tense, voices raised, hands hovering near weapons.
At some point during the argument, Sylphia and the two ladies—Leon’s companions—had left with the thugs for somewhere unknown. The thugs were many in number compared to them, only three women against dozens of armed men and women, and they had looked really strong and well-equipped.
Leon asked the main question that mattered most to him.
“Where did they go? Do you know their destination?”
And the term “world-class monster” clicked in his mind—that might be referring to the creature he had fought before, Morpheus.
Are they connected to that Coreborn somehow?
But to his dismay, the answer from the bunny girl came quickly and apologetically.
“I… I don’t know where they went. I’m sorry, Mr. Leon. They didn’t say.”
Leon didn’t get irritated with her despite the unhelpful response. She was clearly trying her best.
He asked another question calmly. “Do you know anything else? Like, who were these people? Where did they come from? Any identifying marks or symbols?”
Bunbun gripped her own head with both hands, her rabbit ears drooping as she tried desperately to remember anything useful. She felt terrible that she hadn’t given him something that would actually let him reach them.
“Urgh!”
Their exact identities—she wasn’t sure about those. They hadn’t introduced themselves or worn obvious insignias.
But then she remembered something important, something one of them had mentioned during the confrontation.
“Wait! They said something about… about the central region! The central region of the Union’s territory!”
Hearing the words “central region,” Leon knew exactly what she was talking about.
The Central Region.
Surrounded by four massive cities, with the headquarters of the Adventurer’s Union at the very center, the main administrative building governed all Union activities across the continent.
Leon, after hearing “central region,” stopped listening to Bunbun’s continued explanation entirely. His mind was already working, forming theories about what could be the reason for all this.
The monster did come up in her conversation. But I was the one fighting it, and no one knows about my involvement. So that can’t be the direct reason. Then what?
Just then, Leon remembered something crucial—how he had casually told people they were from Solaris. That might be the reason for what had happened.
Solaris. That damned mythical city’s reputation preceded us quite the opposite way than I imagined…
There was no time to dwell on regrets right now.
He needed to leave immediately for the central region. Every second of delay could mean worse consequences for Seraphine and the others.
Leon knew exactly where he had to go—nine hundred kilometers from here, in the northwest direction.
Without any last message of reassurance to the frightened bunny girl, Leon’s body started hovering above the ground, lifting smoothly into the air.
Then he disappeared from visual sight through his illusion affinity, masking his presence before he was finally fully airborne.
WHOOOOSH!
He could see Bunbun freaking out below, her red eyes going wide as she looked around frantically. He could hear her confused words drifting up.
“Where did he go?! Mr. Leon?! I wanted to come too—”
However, Leon didn’t stop even after hearing her words.
Instead, he conveyed his message directly into her mind using the telepathic technique he’d copied, his mental voice calm but firm.
Sorry, but I have to go alone. You would only slow me down.
And then he left without another word.
He didn’t hold back at all with his mana expenditure and went at full speed—up to the maximum velocity he could control safely. During the earlier travel to Conan City, he’d learned better aerial control, so now he increased his speed even further.
CRACKLE! WHOOOOOOSH!
From far below, many places were passing by in a blur—forests, roads, villages, small towns. But he didn’t stop until he could reach his destination: the central region.
And it didn’t take him long at all.
In less than twenty minutes of sustained flight at maximum speed, Leon arrived at the outskirts of the giant region.
The scale of what he saw was unlike anything he had ever witnessed before.
This is… massive.
People said the central region was made up of four cities, but seeing it with his own eyes, Leon could confidently say it was the size of a giant country, comparable to entire nations from his previous world on Earth.
He was looking down from four hundred meters in the air. Since he was traveling much faster now than during his earlier flight, he had decided to ascend to an even higher altitude to avoid causing any disturbance or being detected by ground-level security.
The wall around the entire region was absolutely massive—the scale of construction far surpassed anything from his previous planet, Earth. These weren’t just defensive barriers; they were architectural marvels, enchanted structures that probably cost more to build than entire cities elsewhere.
Leon didn’t enter through any gates or go through security checkpoints or identification procedures. He simply flew directly over the enormous wall without deviation.
WHOOOOSH!
However, the central region was far too big. He didn’t even know where to start looking for Seraphine and the others.
Where would they take them? The Union headquarters? Some private facility? A noble’s estate?
Leon had no idea.
Looking down from his aerial vantage point, he could only see marvelous structures stretching in every direction—civilization far and wide with no end in sight. Massive buildings, sprawling districts, organized streets, parks, monuments, and administrative complexes.
Nothing else gave him a clue about where to begin his search.
Damn it. This place is enormous. I need a strategy, not just flying around randomly.
His spatial awareness had a range that could be extended to a kilometer or even a bit more if he tried hard, which was utterly insufficient for searching a region the size of a country. He could fly over the entire area for days and still miss the exact location where they were being held.
I need information. I need to find someone who knows where prisoners or “guests” from Solaris would be taken.
He was in dire need of information.
Leon hovered in the air, his mind racing through possibilities while his eyes scanned the impossible vastness of the central region spread out beneath him like a living map.
However, Leon had an idea of where they might be held. He needed connections if he wanted to find them quickly and efficiently.
I can’t just search blindly. This place is too vast.
And also, there was the critical fact that these people had been able to take Seraphine, Loriel, and Sylphia—Bunbun’s friend, who was a renowned four-star adventurer. They had to be really strong, or else accomplishing that would have been impossible.
Seraphine alone could handle anything below 4 4-star adventurers; those 20 to 30 numbers won’t matter there, but. For them to subdue all three without causing a massive scene that would attract attention… these aren’t random thugs, instead trained fighters with the strength of at least 4 4-star adventurers or even above.
Those people couldn’t be some random nobodies off the street. They had power, authority, resources, and likely official backing of some kind.
Which means they’re connected to someone important. Someone in the Union hierarchy, probably.
Leon descended rapidly from his high altitude, choosing an empty alleyway far from prying eyes to land. His feet touched the cobblestone ground softly, and he immediately deactivated his flight technique.
FWOOSH… tap.
Then he began traveling through the streets on foot, using his illusion affinity to blend into the crowds seamlessly. His destination was clear: the Adventurer’s Guild headquarters. Strong people would be found there—high-ranking adventurers, information brokers, or nobles with connections to the Union’s inner workings.
Someone there will know something. They have to.
After navigating through several broad avenues lined with impressive architecture, Leon arrived in front of the gigantic structure that served as the central Adventurer’s Guild headquarters.
The building was much more grandiose than the modest guild branch he’d visited in Conan City. This wasn’t just a building—it was a monument to the Union’s power and influence.
Massive pillars carved from white marble rose dozens of stories high. Golden accents traced intricate patterns across the facade. Enchanted crystals glowed at regular intervals, pulsing with protective wards. The entrance alone was large enough to accommodate a dragon walking upright.
Impressive. This is where the real power resides.
Leon’s mystical eyes narrowed as he studied the building, already planning his approach.
