Chapter 330: New Famous City
The strike collided with the casing.

BOOOOM!

The sound of the impact was deafening, a thunderous crash that echoed across the dimensional space like a hammer striking an anvil.

Then Leon’s enhanced senses picked up something really dangerous through his spatial awareness—a sudden spike of hostile energy building up at the point of impact.

Shit!

He teleported instantly to the other side of the encasing without hesitation.

FWOOSH!

And he was absolutely correct in his judgment.

SLASH! CRASH!

Where he’d been standing just a millisecond before, his own attack came screaming back—perfectly reflected in the exact same direction with identical force.

The force of the backlash rattled the very air, and the temperature around the impact zone dropped sharply—as if the energy had torn a hole through atmospheric pressure itself.

The reflected Skybreaker Draw carved a deep gash into the surrounding landscape, the lower portion of the energy wave touching the ground and leaving a trench hundreds of meters deep due to its angled trajectory.

That would’ve cleaved me in two. Or at least seriously injured me.

However, Leon was more focused on the casing itself, which bore absolutely no mark from his full-powered attack. Not even a scratch. Instead, it had deflected his strike completely with full force preserved—if that reflected attack had connected with his body, he would have been seriously injured, possibly fatally.

Complete reflection. Interesting.

To test his theory, Leon attacked the case with shards of ice, launching them using his ice affinity from a safe distance. Just like before, they were deflected by the casing without leaving any damage on it whatsoever. He dodged the reflected shards easily, having anticipated the counter.

So elemental attacks get completely reflected by this weird transparent casing. No damage to it, and full reflection back at the attacker.

Knowing this critical information, Leon decided to try a different approach. He would attack with pure physical force—no elemental energy, no Aura coating, nothing that could be reflected.

He didn’t stop his body enhancements, of course—that would be stupid. Mana Body Enhancement and Raijin’s Descent remained active, boosting his physical capabilities to their peak.

But his sword blade itself was completely bare—not covered in any type of Aura or elemental power.

He slashed with pure physical force.

The blade made contact with the case.

BAMMMM!

“Ugh!”

The impact was painful in an entirely different way. Not just the metallic sound of his epic-ranked sword hitting something even stronger, but his entire hand went numb from the jarring force. The vibrations traveled up his arm and into his shoulder, making his muscles spasm.

And the case? Not even a dent. Not even the faintest mark on its crystalline surface, which was his main worry, was confirmed.

However, one positive thing—he didn’t experience that backward reflection attack he’d suffered when elemental energy came directly in contact with the case.

Physical attacks don’t get reflected. They just… fail to do anything.

Which meant he had to brute force his way through this absurdly strong outer case to claim his mythical armor.

Fine. I’ll just keep hitting it until something breaks.

For the next thirty minutes, Leon attacked a singular point on the casing with relentless determination. Most of the time, he used his sword, but occasionally, he tried using his enhanced fist directly.

That was not pleasant at all—like punching a solid diamond with bare knuckles.

Like slamming his fist into a wall of frozen steel—his knuckles burned, and a jarring numbness ran up his forearm, each bone screaming in protest.

So he quickly went back to using his sword exclusively, focusing all his strikes on one specific spot with mechanical precision.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The repetitive strikes created a growing metallic resonance that built into a dull migraine, vibrating in his bones with every swing.

But the result after half an hour of continuous assault? Nothing. Not even a scratch is visible to the naked eye.

However, one thing he did discover during this whole exhausting ordeal of trying desperately to break through the encasing and claim his armor—

And the finding was not pleasant at all.

“Fucking hell! What difficulty level am I playing? This has to be above hell difficulty. Maybe impossible mode!”

It wasn’t just that his sharp, epic-ranked sword wasn’t able to put a visible scratch on this unknown glass-like casing despite thousands of strikes.

That alone would have been frustrating enough.

But Leon had been observing very carefully after each attack, his mystical eyes analyzing the point of impact with enhanced perception.

And he’d noticed something that made his blood boil.

Tiny, faint scratches did appear—microscopic damage at the molecular level—but only for a small fraction of a second before they recovered themselves, the crystalline structure somehow regenerating instantly.

Self-repairing. Of course, it’s self-repairing. Why wouldn’t it be?

Leon couldn’t help but shout frustratingly into the empty dimensional space.

“This is bullshit! It’s hard enough that I can barely scratch it at all, but it fucking heals itself?! That’s just toxic game design!”

His voice echoed across the grassy field, disturbing nothing but his own peace of mind.

The armor was pissing him off now.

With an annoyed grunt, he stored the entire thing back inside his inventory with a thought, making the crystalline case vanish.

I’ll deal with you later. Maybe after I level up more, or find some specific technique for this.

After that frustrating experience, Leon decided to exit the time dimension and return to the outside world. He created a portal with his mana in less than a second—the process felt incredibly easy now with his enhanced control and expanded reserves.

WHUMMM! SHIMMER!

The silver-white gateway appeared, and he stepped through without hesitation.

FWOOSH!

He materialized in the exact same location he had left—the devastated battlefield where he’d fought Morpheus. The air still carried the acrid scent of scorched earth and vaporized mana—an invisible signature of the destruction he’d unleashed hours ago.

But now, feeling the natural flow of energy around him with his rank 7 affinity instead of the temporary rank 6, everything felt more comfortable, more natural.

Much easier. This felt comfortable.

It was early morning.

The sun’s warmth kissed his skin, a welcome contrast to the sterile stillness of the dimension. In the distance, faint plumes of dust still curled upward, painting signs of the chaos he’d left behind.

His permanent three-hundred-meter spatial awareness picked up several presences in the area almost immediately—footsteps of humans and some other types of beings which seemed to be of different races that lived in the middle domain.

Leon was aware that not all demi-humans looked completely human. Some had distinctly different physical appearances—extra limbs, unusual proportions, non-human features that were immediately obvious.

Investigators, probably. Coming to examine what happened here.

He wasn’t surprised by that at all. A battle of this magnitude would have attracted attention from every major organization within hundreds of kilometers.

However, what he picked up that was more important—something that made his pulse quicken with excitement—was the signature of an unknown affinity he had never felt before.

What is that? Which affinity signature is this?

What it might be. That would be a really good addition to my arsenal. The more the better. If I can find this person and copy their ability, I’ll have another great power at my disposal.

The possibilities were endless.

I need to find them.

Leon was currently wearing another pair of simple clothes he’d stored in his inventory—plain traveler’s gear that wouldn’t attract attention.

He moved in the direction of Conan City.

WHOOOOSH!

The wind screamed past his ears, tugging at his clothes and tousling his silver-white hair, the speed exhilarating but borderline unmanageable.

But his mode of travel was completely different from anything he’d tried before.

He was using his air affinity to propel himself into the air, creating currents that lifted his body off the ground. Then he combined light and lightning affinity for additional speed, with wind affinity helping him glide through the atmosphere smoothly.

Aerial combat capability is important. I realized that during the fight.

Being stuck on the ground was a massive tactical disadvantage against flying opponents or enemies that could be of a really big size.

It was quite hard to gain proper momentum at first. His control wavered, and he dipped several times, nearly falling back to earth because he was aiming for maximum control, speed, and agility.

Come on. Balance. It’s just like… swimming in air.

However, he did improve noticeably over the relatively short journey toward the city gates. The distance wasn’t far— fifty or so kilometers—but practicing at one hundred meters altitude meant he didn’t have to worry about the destruction his untamed speed might cause to the ground and paths around him.

WHOOOOSH! CRACKLE!

So despite his lack of experience with aerial movement, he was actually making good time.

He arrived at the outskirts of Conan City much faster than running would have allowed. His aerial maneuvering was improving quickly—his enhanced intelligence and spatial awareness helping him make constant micro-adjustments to his technique.

Still not perfect, but I’m getting there. The distance was too short to gain proper mastery; I need more practice.

He was excited to meet Seraphine. She had to be worried about him after his sudden disappearance during that catastrophic battle. He wanted to see her as soon as possible, to let her know he was safe. He knew it would have been just 8 or so hours since he was gone, but he knew she would be really worried.

And to give her those mana cores. She’ll be happy about those.

However, when he arrived near the city gate while looking down from his aerial vantage point, the scene in front of him made him really annoyed for a moment.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Hundreds of people were making a line at the city gate to enter—a massive queue stretching back nearly a kilometer. Security had apparently been increased dramatically after the recent disasters.

There were some people entering the city without joining the line, but those appeared to be nobles, high-ranking officials, or individuals with special credentials. Leon didn’t have the proper connections or documentation for that kind of preferential treatment.

If I go the normal way, I’ll have to wait for hours just to enter the city. Maybe even longer.

That was completely unacceptable. He needed to find Seraphine now, not waste half a day standing in line.

However, he wasn’t worried, as he had never cared about normal procedures.

I have done this before.

Leon activated his illusion abilities, layering them over himself to mask his presence completely. He combined it with careful manipulation of light elements to bend visibility around his form.

It’s good to have all these affinities.

Then he simply flew straight over the tall outer city wall and into the city without any deviation or hesitation.

WHOOOOSH!

Not a single person detected him—not the guards at the gate, not the watchers on the walls, not even the mages stationed specifically to detect unauthorized entry.

He was completely invisible to all of them, a ghost passing through their defenses like they didn’t exist.

Perfect.
