Chapter 650: Marked by fate
“Entering the game would only make them weak and vulnerable, and if they were to accomplish the mission for which they were sent to your world, they couldn’t allow something like that to happen under any circumstances. So they stay out in a dormant, dead state.”

“I would assume at least until Earth’s mana is completely unsealed. After that, everything becomes fair game. After that, we wouldn’t be able to live so peacefully in the real world anymore. Mark my words. Those old bastards will come for you.”

“They will come for you as soon as they possibly can. As soon as the system’s heavens would no longer smite them. The only reason you are living and breathing right now is that they are helpless to come near you and touch you. They can’t even use their senses to figure out where you are.”

“The moment they know… they will not rest until you are destroyed. Completely.”

“…Come for me?” Damon asked quietly.

Artimius didn’t soften it. “Yes. You. Specifically, you. You do know why, right?”

Damon’s gaze turned cold. Of course, he did.

Artimius chuckled. “Blood God, thankfully, you are not some naive idiot who is not even fully aware of his own potential. You must know by now that you are the reason why these old monsters are here in the first place!”

“You are the reason why all those Gods made their moves centuries ago!!”

The old man looked at him with a mysterious glint in his eyes. “You are the one marked by Fate. I am sure of it.”

Damon nodded. He did not bother denying it. Especially after experiencing that ridiculous explosive growth in these last few days, even a dumb idiot would understand the true potential hiding inside him.

And all of this, with just a fraction of the godly bloodline. What would happen if someone had more of it?!

Damon shuddered. That was still a huge guillotine hanging over his neck, waiting to come down any day now.

These old monsters were not the only ones after him. Anyone who had managed to get a leg up in the race to assimilate his godly bloodline would definitely come after him the moment they sniff him out.

This was also probably the same moment Earth’s mana saturated. He was strong right now, but not nearly strong enough. He did not have confidence in dealing with these old monsters, who, as a bonus, were also backed by their Gods.

Damon took a deep breath. He clenched his fists as a determined look appeared on his face. He had somehow won the lottery ticket. He had no idea why. He was just a dumb shit without any other talent.

But… Now that he got it… There was no fucking way he was going to go down without putting up a fight.

“Damon, do not take my words lightly. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I am very sure of it. Fate revolves around you. You are the center of this chaos, whether you want it or not.”

Damon chuckled. “Right, because I am a very handsome vampire with impeccable charm.”

Artimius laughed. “I am glad you are taking all of this really well. I would have told you sooner, but I wasn’t sure back then. Even now, I am not 100% sure. Only you know the truth.”

Damon silently listened. After a while, he asked the most obvious question. “So how strong do you think these monsters are?”

Artimius’s gaze drifted toward the window, not because he was distracted, but because he seemed to be choosing his words with extreme care. He shook his head and finally answered.

“I have no idea. If I were to guess, they should be around C rank or B rank. If they were any higher, then they would have been punished by the heavens even if they were in their dormant state. But this is only my guess. Ancient monsters seldom tend to remain the same, especially after such a long time.”

Damon nodded. That would indeed be naive wishful thinking on his part.

Artimius continued. “Even dormant, even sealed, even suppressed by heaven’s rules, these monsters carry spiritual foundations that no normal human can match. When Earth’s mana fully awakens, their souls will reconnect with their bodies, and their true strength will return to them. But that is not all…”

Artimius paused and then spoke. “Blood God, do you know there is something beyond mere levels and stats?”

Damon stiffened. Once again, he somehow knew exactly what the old man was talking about.

“I cannot divulge anything more to you, as it won’t be beneficial to you. But know this, even without their powerful souls, their powerful mana cores, their powerful bodies, they can still make progress. Enough to even stump you completely. I am afraid that if you do not step into that realm soon enough, then all of this will be for nothing. When they finally wake up, you will be crushed like an ant.”

Damon nodded. “I understand.”

Artimius smiled. “It’s good that you do. I have complete faith in you.”

“Remember this… while the old monsters are your ultimate threat, there are equally powerful younger monsters roaming around. Most of them live in the delusion that they are the fated ones which is probably why they haven’t fully turned their attention towards you but the moment they sense something, they wouldn’t hesitate to go all out against you.”

“While they might not be quite as powerful as those old guys, many of them had already entered the game. So there is no telling just how much their strength has grown by now. You would only be on the losing side if you do not give them the credit they deserve.”

“They might not have mana but some of them are martial arts geniuses and soul arts geniuses. Actually… Sylvara…” The old man started but after a couple of seconds, he did not continue that train of thought.
