Chapter 646: Did it work?
For a moment, nothing happened, but the next instant, the entire castle disappeared right in front of his eyes. Now there was just La Rocha floating in the air alongside him.
Damon looked at the guy and smiled. “I guess it worked.” He was about to close his eyes and check when a searing pain assaulted him. It was overwhelming at first, but it settled down soon enough.
It looked like he was on the borderline of being able to and not being able to do this. “It’s fine.” Damon breathed in and breathed out and stabilized himself a bit. He then reached inwards, checking his soul sea.
The entire castle, every tower, every hall, every room, every inch of stone, now existed inside his soul sea, suspended like a colossal spirit-phantom. Its silhouette glowed with soft crimson outlines, tethered to him by threads of blood and intent.
It floated in the vast ocean of his inner world like a divine artifact slumbering on the horizon.
Damon grinned. It worked! It actually worked!
With a beaming smile, he turned to La Rocha. “I am going to need teleportation tokens to the castle. Lots and lots of it.”
The artifact spirit listlessly nodded, staring at Damon as if he were staring at a monster.
Damon couldn’t care less about the guy. He was happy that he was finally able to give his family some sort of freedom. While this was also restrictive in some ways, now they at least had some safe place to get to if they were ever in trouble.
But all of this was temporary. Only if their personal strength improved could they truly be safe. For now, he could assign Erin or someone else to look after his family while they progressed in their paths.
Of course, there was also the obvious other solution. He could always turn them. Becoming vampires would give them another level of security, especially if he blessed them. But Damon decided to put a pin on that for now. Or at least until they themselves asked him. He did not want to force anything on them.
For the next several minutes, he gave La Rocha many, many instructions.
Damon basically wanted the castle to have invisibility functions, barrier functions, teleportation functions, illusion functions, defense and offense abilities, so on and so forth. Everything he asked was reasonable and well within the artifact spirit’s abilities. So La Rocha did not even argue.
The guy stood there with hollow eyes, nodding mechanically as Damon listed out more and more absurdly powerful enchantment requests. It was… unsettling.
Damon frowned. “La Rocha… you good?”
La Rocha nodded. “Can you tell me more about your fortuitous encounter?” He asked again.
Damon grinned. It looked like the guy was really interested in his progress. However, that did not mean he would simply give out all of his secrets. “Maybe one day, we can have a chat about that.” He laughed and brushed it off.
La Rocha could only nod in response. The artifact spirit quickly got to work, and soon another castle appeared at the same spot where the previous castle was.
Damon then summoned the old castle again, and now the two castles stood side by side. With a grin, he went back to the terrace. Naturally, he was met with a whole bunch of shocked faces. He explained some things while leaving out many details.
Not too surprisingly, Sylvara and the ice clan members preferred to remain in the real world and travel to the game world at their convenience. Unlike Damon’s family, they were not exactly civilians, so they preferred not to live such a sheltered life.
Aurora, Kate, and Kate’s mother stuck with Damon and his family. With this, the matter was settled, and Damon decided to give the whole thing a spin. Now that the first part of the problem was solved, he was yet to test the second part.
Could he actually bring everyone back to the game in this way?
Taking a deep breath, he once again willed the castle to get back into his soul space. Sylvara, Nevin, and a few other ice clan members stood on the terrace of the second castle and stared at this scene in shock. They had already transferred Artimius to the second castle, so for now, only Damon’s family members, Aurora, Kate, and Kate’s mom were there inside.
And just like that, the castle disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place. It looked like the times were truly changing!
Damon then activated his teleportation rune, and the world around him immediately shifted. The real world changed into the game world, and ambient mana swirled all around him. He was back inside the Blood Hall.
The first thing he did was look for Erin. Among all of his followers, Erin was the most powerful, right after him. This made her the first choice.
Damon quickly opened up a portal using Blood Gate and teleported to a random light faction city along with her. A pretty boring city with nothing much going on. Only mediocre players milled about everywhere, and there weren’t even any dungeons in the surroundings.
He blinked to a secluded spot on the outskirts of the city, a quiet forest clearing with only a bunch of dire wolves. It was perfect.
Damon then summoned his castle. Erin gasped in shock. Just like everyone else, she also couldn’t believe that Damon had actually opened his soul sea. A fanatic look appeared on her face, and she bowed to Damon with worship in her eyes.
“My lord, none can match your brilliance.”
Damon scratched his head awkwardly. His family members stepped out of the castle one by one. Their faces were full of shock and happiness at the same time. It’s been a while, so they were extremely excited to be back in the game once again.
“Could you look after them, Erin?” Damon smiled lovingly at the sight of his niece skipping and dancing with Aurora.
