Chapter 633: We are not alone
Though Aurora did not like it, she couldn’t disagree with the two of them. She also very badly wanted to go and see Damon right this second. Ultimately, she decided to do the thing that made her the happiest.

“Alright. We can go and take a look. This guy is definitely suspicious, but he is not strong enough to even..” She paused mid-sentence, narrowing her eyes at Norosse’s swaggering silhouette. “matter.”

Lirae pressed her lips together to avoid smiling. Kate outright snorted.

Aurora continued, “It’s not a bad idea to bring some cannon fodder in case hubby needs it.”

Kate coughed hard. “A-Aurora… He is a Blood General!”

“What?” Aurora blinked innocently. “It’s true. If anything, he is quality cannon fodder. That’s about it. Anyway!” she chirped. “Let’s hurry. Hubby might be hurt, or trapped, or bored, or fighting someone fun without me. All of these are unacceptable.”

Kate nodded firmly. “Agreed. We’ll leave as soon as Norosse’s forces gather.”

Lirae added softly, “And we’ll be prepared.” She clenched her fists in determination. The way she had let her betrothed deal with everything did not sit well with her at all. And it had now been several hours since then, almost an entire day, and he still hadn’t returned. She felt uneasy.

It was true that he asked her to stay out of it, but things had changed now.

Lirae closed her eyes and examined herself. The moment she arrived here with the other two, she immediately ventured out and started training. She was now a lot more familiar with her blood elf skills. This was the condition her betrothed had given her, and she had now fulfilled it. Well, somewhat. She definitely wouldn’t be breaking any promises by going back there again.

“Princess…” Aurora called, snapping her out of her thoughts. “I am going to see if Erin, Kaelthorn, or Ellora is available. We can leave right after that.”

Lirae nodded.

Unfortunately, those three were busy with something else and were currently not there in the Blood Hall. Even Mallia, the fish girl, was somewhere else. Aurora did not really care. She just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible and see Damon.

The group quickly became ready. At the last minute, Ellora showed up, and the blood witch immediately joined in despite her tired appearance. They also decidedly asked Kate to stay behind, as she hadn’t fully recovered yet.

Kate could only bitterly accept it. She was weak, and she had no one else to blame.

“Cheer up, My Lady.” Ellora gave a small bow to her. Even though they were a lot closer now after the war, she still gave the respect Kate deserved. “The little alchemist is very talented. She is very close to a breakthrough. You might become fully healed really soon.”

Kate forced a smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “I know,” she whispered. “It’s just… I hate being left behind when he might need us.”

Aurora immediately marched back over and grabbed both of Kate’s cheeks with her hands. “Hey,” she pouted, pressing Kate’s face into a squish, “don’t make that sad face. I don’t like it. If hubby saw you like this, he would scold me.”

Kate blinked. “Why would Damon scold you?”

“Because!” Aurora puffed her chest. “I am the emotional support wife.”

Lirae almost tripped at that. Ellora looked up at the sky. Kate smiled despite herself. “Aurora… you’re absolutely not the emotional support wife.”

Aurora gasped. “What!? Who is it then?”

The three exchanged glances and then looked away.

“Hmph. We will talk about this later. As this harem’s leader, you three cannot disrespect me like this. Right now, we should leave.” Everyone once again pretended not to hear her.

Behind them, Norosse swaggered over, proudly announcing that his troops were assembled. Aurora gave him a single murderous glance. She then started creating a teleportation portal with a special class skill, Angel’s Path.

“Is everyone ready?” Aurora chirped.

“Ah, excellent! You even have a means of teleportation. Very good,” he declared, hands clasped behind his back. “Then I shall lead the way. My forces-”

Before he could finish his words, Aurora, Lirae, and then Ellora stepped into the portal one after the other. Kate gave one last encouraging smile before stepping back. Norosse frowned, but he entered the portal nevertheless.

He couldn’t care less about the damned worm. He had always wanted to explore the light faction continent more, and this was a perfect opportunity to do so. He was even going to acquire three exquisite women at the end of it all. He couldn’t wait for it and was bursting with excitement. His fangs were itching to taste the fallen angel in particular.

Norosse and his troop of elite vampires entered the portal, and the next moment, everyone appeared right outside the order’s main base.

Lirae had already enquired about the location of the base, and her grandfather came through for her.

The old man had already contacted her many times to make amends. Lirae did not exactly respond to him for anything else. She only asked about what she needed, and she did not contact him anymore. She was nowhere close to forgiving her family.

However, she intended to repay this favor. She looked around at the vast ruins sprawled across the desert, and her eyes widened in shock. This was the base of the most formidable order of the Great Western Desert, the Umbra’s Hand, and now it looked like someone had shredded it.

It was a graveyard of shattered stone and collapsed towers. Black banners were shredded and half-buried in the sand. Black pillars, once razor-sharp monuments of the Umbra’s Hand, lay broken like snapped bones. The earth itself was carved with long, deep trenches, as though it had been clawed open.

The Umbra’s Hand’s main base was essentially… gone. Completely annihilated.

“This…” Lirae whispered, voice trembling despite her attempt to sound composed, “This was supposed to be the strongest stronghold in the Western Desert. The place no one dared approach. What happened here? Where is… he?”

Aurora’s voice interrupted her. “Careful. We are not alone.”
