Chapter 631: A new sister
Inside the Blood Hall…
“Where is my hubby?” A sweet voice rang out as Aurora hopped and skipped, searching all the chambers and hidden corners of the Blood Hall. “Is my love playing hide and seek with me again? Hubby… I thought we were past all of that…”
“Hubbyyyy…” she sang, dragging out the last syllable like a spoiled princess who fully expected the universe to rearrange itself for her whims. She peeked under a long table stacked with blood-crystal documents, then checked a shadowed alcove where lesser vampires scattered out of her way like terrified mice. “Hmm? Not here either?”
A sharp pout formed on her lips, almost adorable, if one ignored the faint scent of carnage that clung to her clothes like perfume.
“I slaved away for hours,” she huffed dramatically, tossing her hair with offended pride.
“Hours! And he can’t even give me one ‘welcome back, my love, I missed you so much, Aurora, you’re the light of my eternity’ kiss?” She mimicked Damon’s voice terribly, then glared at a random wall as if it had personally wronged her.
“Hubby, stop hiding from me! Unless…” Her eyes sparkled with sudden, unhinged delight. “Unless you want me to hunt you. Is that it? Is this a game? A secret challenge? A test of devotion?”
Several vampires nearby stiffened on hearing absolute nonsense coming out of a fallen angel’s mouth, a being considered terrifying by all.
Norosse, a new vampire Lord assigned to the light faction, was coincidentally wandering the Blood Hall at the same time. He had heard about the fallen angel before, but he chalked it up to a wild rumor. How could a new blood possibly have tamed a fallen angel?
But now that he saw her with his own eyes, his blood started burning with desire. He couldn’t believe that such an exquisite creature was so casually waltzing around in front of him, calling out a lesser noble’s name that too.
If anyone, it was Norosse that deserved the love and attention of such an exquisite creature. He was a Blood General, a straight royal lineage descendant from one of the main families of the Crimson Mountain. He was one of the wealthiest nobles among them all.
Aurora spun lightly in place, continuing her melodramatic search. That was when another presence entered her periphery. Norosse paused mid-stride, struck utterly speechless. But Aurora brushed past him without even noticing
Her fragrance brushed over him like a sinful whisper. It hit him like a hammer. His heart, usually cold and still, gave one heavy, traitorous thump.
Celestial beauty draped in a sinful aura. Innocent voice wrapped around madness. A creature who shouldn’t exist, let alone stand here calling out for some nameless lower-rank vampire like a lovesick maiden. His fists clenched. How dare he?
He, Norosse, regally born, perfectly bred for the upper echelons of the Crimson Mountains, should have been the one she sought. The one she called love. The one she showered with affection, not… whoever this “hubby” was.
He stepped forward, letting his aura ripple with controlled dominance.
“My lady,” he said smoothly, voice like velvet wine. “You seem troubled. Perhaps I may be of assistance? Someone like you deserves proper attention… and protection.”
Aurora paused. She turned to look at him, clearly only noticing his presence now. Then her lips curled into a slow, devastating smile that made Norosse’s cold heart lurch with foolish hope.
“Oh?” she sang sweetly. “And who are you supposed to be?”
He straightened, pride swelling. “Norosse Valtair. Fourth Blood General. Royal lineage of the-”
“Hm.” Aurora cut him off with a tiny, disinterested hum. She saw Kate some distance away, talking to someone new.”Sis!” she chirped, voice dripping with affection as she skipped past Norosse as though he were a decorative statue rather than a noble flaunting his pedigree. “There you are! I’ve been looking everywhere!”
Norosse blinked, frozen mid-bow. His gaze trailed the celestial fallen angel, only to land on two more breathtakingly beautiful women. One seemed simple enough, except there was something about her. A gentle, intoxicating warmth so unlike vampire mana that Norosse’s cold, undead heart gave another unnatural thump.
Another was a… an elf?
No. Her eyes were crimson. Who was she? Some new creature? Moreover, she was also maddeningly gorgeous. Her mana felt ancient, refined, and laced with a quiet nobility that made even his royal lineage seem cheap in comparison. Who in the Blood Emperor’s name was she?
Aurora flung herself at Kate first, hugging her with dramatic desperation. “Sis, I’ve been searching everywhere!” she wailed. “Tell me you’ve seen our hubby! I need my welcome back kiss. I am all alone, sis. All alone! I am so sad and depressed.”
Kate patted her back like she was soothing a hyperactive puppy. “Aurora. You were gone for two days.”
“Two days all alone by myself. When I could have been with you or hubby!”
The crimson-eyed, elf-like woman chuckled. Aurora spun toward her immediately and grabbed her hands too. “See? Even she understands my suffering! Where is he? Why is he hiding? Please tell me, Kate. Hubby is always unfair to me. He never tells me where he goes.”
Kate and the other woman exchanged looks that could only be described as, ‘Here she goes again.’
Kate laughed. “You are overthinking. Damon has been a bit busy recently. That’s why he hasn’t contacted you. By the way, this is Princess Lirae. She is… ahem… a new sister.” She reluctantly added.
Aurora’s eyes immediately widened in shock and surprise. “What are you saying? Why will she be a new sister?” The next second, her mouth formed an O as she understood. “You are that elf, aren’t you? The one he is betrothed to. Wait. Your eyes are now crimson, which means hubby finally accepted you completely and added you to the harem.”
Norosse nearly choked on his own saliva. His mind spun so violently he felt dizzy. Three. Three divine-level beauties, each one radiating a different kind of overwhelming charm, were all gathered together in one place. All belonging to the same harem?
His mind reeled. This… this low-ranking noble worm… has all three? His pride couldn’t process it. His ego shrieked in devastation.
