Chapter 601: What the hell are you doing?
Damon’s expression didn’t change. The space might have special laws and involve special tricks, but there was still something called raw power. What if he threw everything he had at it? Would it still not be real?
A glint of madness appeared in his eye as he churning his mana core wildly. He hadn’t expected to run against such a strong enemy inside the game world, especially when B rank was supposedly the highest rank inside. But here he was fighting against something he barely understood.
While this might have made him a nervous wreck at one point in time and life, he was pleasantly surprised to see that he only felt excitement right now. His blood was pumping at full speed to break this limit that was all around him, and a maniacal smile bloomed on his face.
The Third whistled. “Oooh, that’s cute. You’re powering up. Everyone always tries that first. ‘Maybe if I get stronger, it’ll magically fix the fact that I’m trapped in a pocket dimension with a psychopath!'”
His laughter skittered across the glass like rats in the dark. But seeing Damon’s smile, he abruptly stopped.
Power surged around Damon. Thick wisps of condensed mana swirled all around him. Mana surged out of him in a tidal wave, not summoned or shaped but ripped from the deepest part of his being where the Primordial Mana Core lay nestled like a second heart.
The mirror realm rejected rules, rejected logic, rejected everything real. But raw, violent, unfiltered power?
The Third’s grin slipped.
The Mirror World groaned. All the reflections all around them flickered and distorted as Damon’s aura pressed down on them. The guy became silent for a moment. His heart almost dropped when he saw the effect of Damon’s power. But in the end, nothing really happened.
“He He. I told you. You can’t do anything here. This is my world. You have to live and die by my rules. You have no other choice. I am your new master. Be ready to lick my ass. Maybe I will allow your death to be swift and painless.”
Damon continued to ignore him. He had a feeling he was on the right track. It shouldn’t be long before he completely destroyed this whole place. Damon flexed his arms and then cracked his neck. There were still some things he needed to do.
He summoned his shadow clone. Especially after consuming all of the blood essence of about fifty or sixty or maybe more assassins, his clone skill had upgraded a lot.
It was solid. Dense. Almost another Damon entirely. It was able to bring out 75% of his attack power. The clone took position behind him, silent as death, ready to defend him from any angle. The clone was more than enough to guard him in this place while he busied himself.
As for his next plan of action, it was pretty simple. He had opened up four meridians so far and there were still many more left to go. While some of them were pretty complicated, which he wouldn’t dare forcefully break open at the moment, some easy ones were still left.
Damon closed his eyes and activated his mana core again. A violent rush of mana slammed through his body, wild and unrestrained. Where ordinary players would have screamed or collapsed, Damon’s smile only widened. This time he directed all of the mana towards his right shoulder.
BOOM! The closed pathway in his shoulder opened up without showing any resistance. In his last life he had to struggle so much and go through so much just to crack open a single meridian but now he was opening his fifth meridian and yet it was smoothless and effortless.
The Nine Million Poisons Body was no joke. It looked like it was a top-tier constitution that made all of these progress a lot easier.
After opening the one on his right shoulder, he then proceeded to open one on his left shoulder. He followed it up with one on his right thigh and then on his left thigh. Slowly and carefully he circulated the mana torrents all over his body to ensure smooth flow and connectivity.
The raw power traveled through the new pathways like liquid fire, merging with the rest of his network. His body drank it in greedily. Another meridian awakened. Another layer of restriction peeled away.
Removing these four blockages suddenly created a lot of new room in his body. While it did many things, the most direct effect was still the stats. He was now able to pour 4000 more stats into his body.
Damon quickly added the whole thing into his strength stat and his intelligence stat, further increasing his mana capacity and control and overall physical strength. He had gained a bunch of agility stats while fighting the assassins so he kept adding to these two attributes.
He knew he could add some more as the thousand stats was not a strict limit but he did not want to completely use all of the space. In case he absorbed more blood essence he did not want to waste those additional stats.
As for the stats stored up in his available stats quota, Blood Reign was still able to hold onto it so he let her do that. Except for the occassional whining from the weapon spirit, she seemed fine so far. The more he reduced the stats from the net number, her burden was also becoming lighter and lighter.
Damon inhaled and exhaled calmly as he felt strength and mana filling him up. His body was tangibly changing and he was quickly becoming stronger.
The Third finally noticed this and the guy who was up until now busy giving some sort of a monologue meant to mentally torture Damon, suddenly stopped.
“You! What the hell are you doing? Did you just crack open a meridian? What the hell? Ya. You did do that, didn’t you? You just opened up a meridian, didn’t you?”
His voice bounced around the mirrored walls in fifty distorted versions, all equally horrified. “Are you a fucking lunatic? This is not a training space, you idiot! You are going to die here? Do you not understand that?!”
