Chapter 503: Solar Mandate
The Devereux family was one of the richest families in Europe, and even the Queen of England was rumored to be a mere puppet of the family.

In Damon’s last life, after the guild went public, all sorts of rumors started spreading about the family. Some said that Hitler was a servant of the family. Some claimed that Putin was another servant. The rumors were so exaggerated that some even claimed that their history went as far as the ancient pyramids.

Supposedly, a member of the Devereux family took a liking to a beauty queen of Egypt and all her ten sisters. The man lived like a king with his big harem of Egyptian beauties, and when he died, all his concubines were mummified alive and buried with him as per his request.

Damon had no idea if there was any truth to these claims, but one thing was certain. The family had deep pockets and deep connections. Such a family’s direct heir was now standing in front of him!

If he was not wrong, then that girl and the other golden mask, handsome bastard, should also belong to equally influential and powerful families, even though he had no idea who exactly they were.

He had always thought that the top god-level players were the main strength of the super guilds but now more and more so-called players were stepping out of the woodwork.

Shouldn’t these people be rare like dragons and phoenix? Instead, why did it feel as if anyone could be a top player as long as the super guild wants them to be. Then who was the real power running everything behind the scene?

Damon couldn’t help but think how powerful such an existence had to be.

Reynard chuckled in amusement. “You say you do not know my family. Yet it is clear that you do. You know you can always kneel and beg for forgiveness. I am in a very forgiving mood today.”

Damon paused for a moment and stared at the guy in front of him. The moment he cracked his neck with a laugh. “Orange head, weren’t you the one who ran away from me before? Now where did all this courage come from? Brought some back up with you, huh. And what’s with you guys and kneeling? Do everyone kneel in front of you?”

Damon expected the guy to get angry and riled up but the man was far from it. Reynard seemed completely at ease with a big smile on his face. “A tactical retreat is not the same as running away.”

Reynard smiled and Damon smiled in return. A shameless person recognized another shameless person.

At the same time, Damon was not idle. He might be chitchatting with the guy but in the background he was doing many other things simultaneously.

It looked like the new guy had brought over many stealth experts whom Damon promptly exposed and his shadow clone took care of things from there. Reynard’s face changed when he realized three out of the eight stealth fighters were already down.

“You are not at all simple, are you?” Reynard did not waste anymore time.

He grinned as a fiery aura abruptly appeared around him. He then lifted his hand and bellowed. “Invoke. Solar Mandate.” His bracelet started shining with a blinding intensity. Twelve shining suns appeared all around them.

Damon could already tell that the bracelet wasn’t an ordinary one. It was definitely a legendary item. That woman had one and now this guy too. These super guilds really had it sweet. They seemed to be rolling in legendary items and endless gold coins.

Damon gnashed his fangs as he prepared to dodge what looked like an insanely powerful attack. If he was not wrong, then the twelve suns should be shooting out nasty stuff left and right any time now.

And he was not wrong.

The very next moment, shit hit the fan. The power of the legenday item was clearly demonstrated.

The twelve miniature suns blazed like fragments of a dying star, each one humming with divine heat and compressed mana. Then, all at once, they started rotating, slowly at first, then faster, spinning around Reynard in a perfect formation.

Streams of molten light cascaded down from them, turning the very air into fire. The ground cracked open, glowing lines spreading outward in every direction like golden veins.

It was clear that these twelve suns wouldn’t allow any attack or attacked near Reynard. Anything would be burnt into a crisp in an instant. It was the perfect defense but that’s not all it did.

Damon barely had a moment to react before the first wave of solar lances came crashing down. Each one moved at impossible speed, tearing through the air and leaving behind trails of blinding light that scarred the battlefield.

The twelve suns were shooting at him with an insane speed. He dodged, barely but the assault kept continuing with no signs of stopping. It did not matter how far he went. The lances followed him all over the battlefield as if they could sense him.

They were locked onto him and they were clearly not going to change their minds any time soon. While Damon continued to dodge these solar attacks narrowly, the other vampires and undeads were not lucky. Many fell thanks to the shooting.

But at the same time, there was no friendly fire. Damon was shocked to see that the damn suns actually avoided friendly fire by mysteriously mellowing down their lances right before it hit any NPC or player. This was downright cheating!

Damon had wanted to take out some of the players by showing up right behind them and dodging at the last moment. Clearly, that wasn’t going to happen. The legendary items were always like this. Completely unreasonable!

So far they had only been dealing with incomplete legendary items but Damon was pretty sure the one in front of him was a solid and complete one. It was completely different from the incomplete ones both in terms of abilities and output level.

The single item was boosting the guy’s whole profile.

Just as Damon was racking his brain to think of a solution and figure out how to avoid this particularly nasty item and its disgustingly powerful attacks, out of nowhere something unexpected happened.

One sun suddenly disappeared.
