Chapter 500: Reaper’s Dozen
Damon stood puzzled. Since when was Blood Reign capable of coming out of him and even staying apart from him as a separate entity? His lips curled upwards. It looks like the upgrade this time was quite a good one.
However, was this the limit? Just how much did she change after the upgrade?
Despite the time crunch, Damon couldn’t help but stop for a moment and look back at her.
Blood Reign grinned. Or at least her face looked like it. Clearly, she knew she was being watched as she moved like she was about to put on a grand show.
Damon’s eyes widened. His heart raced as the next second, an unbelievable scene unfolded right in front of his eyes.
“My liege! Enjoy your feast!” Blood Reign’s voice thundered across the battlefield. She then disintegrated into a mist of blood that scattered in the wind.
The next moment twelve scythes appeared out of nowhere. These scythes appeared right above C rank experts including three powerhouses.
“Reaper’s Dozen!” Blood Reign’s voice resounded everywhere in the battleground. For a moment, the entire place turned crimson. There was crimson everywhere. The sky, the ground, the air, everything was the color of blood.
Everyone became alert. All sorts of attacks flew towards the scythes. The three powerhouses did not plan on taking this lying down. Their eyes were serious as if they could feel that something was about to happen.
One powerhouse erupted a brilliant golden barrier. Another one empowered his hammer to strike at the scythe. The last one brought his shield forward and roared loudly. A powerful golden aura rippled out of him.
However, all of it was useless. The next second, the scythes fell. It cut through everything in its path. No. Damon’s eyes shone. The scythes devoured everything in their path. He could feel the scythes becoming more powerful as they fell.
The more the resistance, the stronger they became and when they came for the kill, there was nothing in their path that could stop them.
In the blink of an eye, the twelve scythes hit flesh and a moment later, twelve heads rolled on the ground. The world turned normal once again. Blood essence burst out of the bodies in a gorey show and shot towards Damon.
Everyone gaped in shock. Damon included. What sort of powerful attack was this? How could something like this exist? Only a being who had transcended the laws of the world can do something like this. Such a being had to be at least an A rank!
The entire battleground came to a standstill for a moment. Damon alone greedily sucked in everything that came his way. A true feast indeed! A maniacal grin appeared on his face. This was Blood Reign’s true power?
“No, my liege.” Little red answered him, her voice whispering in his ears. “This is a mere fraction of my power. In the future we will be able to grow even more powerful and unleash more chaos and mayhem in this world. There will be none who would dare to stand in your path!”
Damon nodded. A loud uproar erupted all around him as the vampires finally snapped out of their trance. They were the first to erupt in cheers. A tidal wave of bloodlust and awe swept across the battlefield. To them, this was no mere victory, it was divine revelation, a dominion of blood.
In a second, the entire battle had turned tides. They were pretty much locked in a stalemate, only slightly overpowering the purification raid army but now, things were completely different.
The vampires only needed this one push. They continued the momentum and surged forward. Two to three Blood Generals ganged up against each C-rank powerhouse. Not many were left in the first place.
The single attack was more than enough to deal with the whole army and more importantly, Blood Reign wasn’t done yet. Her figure appeared here and there randomly and wherever she appeared, that head rolled.
She did not directly face a peak C-rank powerhouse anymore but she was still putting down C rank experts left and right as if they were nothing.
Damon absorbed more and more blood essence. He could feel himself becoming fuller and fuller. His stats were continuously increasing. He had already gained 500 more stat points altogether but he could feel that he was going to hit a barrier.
Many of his skills had also upgraded several times. Overall, it was a sweeping victory for him in this side. There was nothing more left for him to do here. Absorbing as much essence as he could, he hurriedly left the area and went to the western gate.
A flustered Necro God greeted him the moment he entered the battlefield. “Where the heck were you? You were supposed to be here several minutes ago! Can’t you see how you fucked up everything?”
His words got stuck in his throat as he stared at Damon. More specifically at the blood lust, rolling off of him. “What… what are you… how can you be so…”
It had only been a short time since they had met and already he could feel that the person in front of him had become someone entirely different. There was a deep unfathomable power seeping out of him. His aura was the aura of a devil who stood at the top of the world!
“I… I… you should kill that guy. I am not able to get close to him. He is playing against my weakness.” Necro God stammered and finally managed to get some words out.
“I got it.” Damon gave him a nod and instantly dove into action.
A nasty holy formation pulsed in front of him. Rings of consecrated glyphs rotated like gears. They were anchored by a man in shining golden armor whose mere breathing shed motes of gold.
Sanctifier Varro.
Damon knew about this guy. He was one of the top players in his last life. His trademark weapon was a lantern that burned with a spark of holy fire. It was an extremely powerful flame fragment, capable of dealing spectacular damage to those from the dark faction.
Any shade within ten paces of him guttered and died. No wonder the Necro God couldn’t approach him. The man’s lantern essentially turned necromancy into brittle chalk.
