Chapter 490: Poisoned
Standing with claws full of blood was a stunningly beautiful woman. Her eyes were crimson, her pupils slitted. She had dark greenish purple hair that fluttered in the miasmic winds. Viola stared at the woman, at those cruel eyes as the last bit of her health emptied out.

She then gasped, coughing up blood as her blood essence rose and shot up right next to the woman where a familiar figure teleported to the spot.

Blood God. The villain had a great big smile on his face as he too watched her die, greedily drinking in all the blood essence.

Viola’s heart sank. She had truly lost this time. She, the princess of the south, was utterly and completely defeated by one random man who had popped out of nowhere. She closed her eyes, her body finally becoming limp and lifeless.

On the other side, Damon’s heart raced. He couldn’t believe it. The plan was insane, but somehow they had made it work. More importantly, his assumption had been right all along. This woman definitely had an interesting item on her.

Right after Viola’s death, a few items appeared all around her. He gave up on absorbing Viola’s blood essence and reached for the one particular item that lay inconspicuously on the ground. A plain and cracked mask.

But if one looked closely, the mask was emitting a faint orange golden aura, the mark of a legendary item!

Damon did not have the time to analyze everything right there. He did not even have the time to loot anything else or absorb any more blood essence. There was only a split second before all the NPCs rushed back to Viola’s side and he and Erin got attacked on all sides.

They needed to leave now!

Damon hurriedly picked up the mask alone as he instantly disappeared from the spot along with Erin. The next moment they appeared inside the blood dome away from all the chaos and mayhem.

The teleport had only barely finished when an intense pain assaulted Damon all of a sudden.

Damon’s eyes widened as he looked at his arm. There was a huge slash, and blood was dripping. The wound also looked black, and fumes were coming out. A poison attack and a pretty powerful one at that.

[Ding! You have been poisoned.]

[Ding! Your stats have been reduced by 50% permanently.]

Damon could not believe what he was seeing. How could a poison be this powerful? A 50% permanent reduction meant that the poison was capable of affecting your very roots and your core abilities. This was completely insane.

But he was not too worried about it. His lips tugged upwards as he could already feel his body working on it. Just as he thought, the next second, another notification popped up.

[Ding! Your Nine Million Poison Body has absorbed the poison and started to refine it.]

[Ding! Your stats are now only reduced by 45% permanently.]

In some time, everything would be fully cleared and the poison would also be assimilated within Damon’s body. He would have added a new and powerful poison to his already existing brew.

“That was way too close.” Damon let out a sigh of relief. It looked like his body would be able to handle the poison after all. But the thing that bothered him was… just how many hidden monsters were the super ten hiding? Who was that red-robed guy?

Damon was pretty sure that it was this guy who had attacked his arm at the very last moment. His speed and his technique was shockingly amazing enough to achieve such a feat.

Damon thought that he had an edge over the super ten thanks to his previous timeline knowledge, and now it was abundantly clear that what he knew was simply the tip of an iceberg! In fact, it would be safe to assume that he knew nothing at all about these guys.

Breaking his thoughts, Erin worriedly pulled his arm towards her, being as gentle as she could. “You’re hurt, my lord,” she hissed as anger flashed in her eyes. “Allow me to get out right this instant. I will once again wreak havoc on those fools and slaughter every single one of them!”

Damon chuckled. “I know you will, and there will be a time for that. But for now, you have a minute to rest and recuperate. I suggest you use that.” He then pulled his arm away from her. “Don’t worry about my injury. See, it’s already healing.”

Erin nodded as she saw the flesh becoming normal once again and the black hue fading away. The two of them then teleported into the Blood Hall’s main area, where everyone else was waiting.

“Damon! Why did you have to risk so much!” Kate immediately ran over to him. Damon saw the three big screens where different gates were currently being shown. The entire battlefield was being projected by three magic crystals showing different parts of the action.

Everyone had been watching the whole thing going down this entire time. Damon’s eyes lit up. He had completely forgotten about this part. In his last life many guilds had used these rare crystals in guild battles to learn about other’s secrets.

There was also a recording feature and Damon was excited to comb through all of the footage once the battle was over. There was a lot he could learn from these videos. He could even completely decipher everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.

But this had to wait a while. For now, there was something more important he had to do.

“Give me a second.” Damon nodded at Kate and then immediately shifted his attention to Varnyx. “Can you tell me exactly how much integrity is left in that barrier?”
