Chapter 487: Slaughter everyone and burn the city to the ground
“This is complete bullshit! How can a single guy annihilate an entire army? I think the losers who went first stepped on some landmine or some shit and got themselves killed. Now they are simply cooking up excuses for their stupidity!”

“Holy hell! Just how strong is Blood God? What move did he use to kill so many people at the same time? How is this even possible?”

“I bet he used some sort of magic scroll!”

“What the hell is a magic scroll now? You mean skill scroll?”

“No bish! Actual magic scrolls. You only need to send a little bit of mana inside to unleash mass destruction. I heard that the big guilds had managed to get their hands on some of these magic scrolls.”

“Fuck ya. Daddy needs some of those. Where can I buy it?”

“Are you an idiot? Normal players can’t afford those scrolls? Even if you rented out your ass and somehow managed to scrap the gold, you still can’t buy it.”

“Fuck you! Your mama told me last night you are also a broke bitch!”

“Guys, this is obviously a fake video. Why are you all getting so worked up about it? Only a bigshot NPC can pull off something like this. There is no way Blood God or any other player could even remotely be this powerful. The whole thing is some sort of publicity stunt.”

“See, I told you. It’s fake.”

“Yup, definitely fake.”

“Guys, shut the fuck up. Everything is real, and Blood God is legit insane. Whoever doubts this is a damn idiot. If you want proof, why don’t you head to the southern gate of Niera and see for yourself?”

“Fake? You sons of bitches. Go to Niera right now if you really think that it is fake!”

Nobody said a word after that. Everyone’s eyes were glued to the few clips of the battlefield circulating on the internet. Now that players did not dare to step inside that poison zone any longer, these video clips were rare, and everyone was dying to see the current status of the war.

Meanwhile, inside the barricades of the Blue Fort city, Michael and Viola silently stood at the top of the famous Fort staring at the chaos in the distance.

Michael had already replaced his broken mask with another, and Viola still had her original mask on. The two of them did not speak at all for a while. They only stared blankly at the distance at the bright red dome, which was yet to shatter.

Finally, Michael opened his mouth. “We have underestimated him.”

Viola nodded.

“Thank you for your assist in the last minute. I would have died if you hadn’t used your voodoo decoy skill.”

“It’s not a big deal,” Viola muttered absent-mindedly.

Michael let out a sigh and then shook off the weird feeling plaguing him. “Listen, he only managed to come out on top this time because we had severely underestimated him. He has some sort of poison skill, which is new, and if I am not wrong, he must have recently run into some lucky encounter that gave him a bunch of extra stats. Otherwise, he couldn’t have accomplished all of that.”

Viola only nodded.

“If I am correct, then he also probably possesses some sort of berserk skill which gives him an insane power up. This also means that he should be in a weakened cool-down state right now. We did not go all out there. We are here for the long battle. That short display of power did not really help anyone now, did it?”

Viola again nodded.

“While it is true that we have underestimated him, we should also not be overwhelmed and give him more credit than he deserves. Let’s snap out of it and focus on what’s right in front of our eyes. The battle has only begun, and this time we won’t be the ones losing.”

Seeing that Viola wasn’t all that responsive, Michael activated a skill, and the next second, he was covered by a divine glow.

“I am going now to take care of something things. Why don’t you try to contact that bastard Reynard? If he had cooperated, we could have already taken care of Blood God. He needs to answer for his actions. I am going to bring this up with the council. I hope you can support me.”

With this, his figure disappeared, and he was gone from the Blue Fort city.

Viola still stood at the same spot and mumbled absent-mindedly to herself. “How the hell did you manage to break my curse? Just who are you?” She too then disappeared after a few seconds to regroup with her guild. The main event was about to start after all. She clenched her fists with determination. This time, she was not going to lose. Not to that barbarian who drinks blood.

“We need to take down that damned barrier first!” Viola commanded her second-in-charge. “Use everything we have. Use all the magic scrolls you need. I do not care about expenses. I need that shield to come down now. Let’s slaughter everyone and burn the city to the ground.” Her body was shaking as she gave the command.

It looked like all the armies had decided to go all out and end the blood dome as quickly as possible. While they were camped out here, they were pretty much sitting ducks, and the enemy was able to do as they pleased, but once the barrier came down, everything was going to change.

All the armies fired on all cylinders. They also quickly adapted to Damon’s poison blasts by setting up defensive formations. Smaller units formed, and each unit boasted a powerful hexagonal shield, and a dedicated person maintained it on repeat.

The others were also ordered to lock down and snipe the devilish vampire if they ever laid eyes on him again. The element of surprise was no longer there, and this time it would be a lot more difficult to deal any massive damage to the troops.
