Chapter 1892: Another one of god’s messengers
“Who are you ?” I couldn’t help asking when I saw this leader of the lizards approach.

The leader of the lizards stood on two feet and seemed to give me a bow, but it was a bit strange seeing them like this since they were quite small.

Standing up like this, the leader of the lizards didn’t even seem to reach my knees.

As it bowed like this, the leader of the lizards said, “I am the leader of this Black Obsidian Tribe and one of the messengers of the gods. My name is Zeldir the Dark and I am the messenger of the God of Night, Nox.”

I looked at this lizard with a strange look for a bit, but eventually I asked, “What is a messenger of the gods doing in a place like this?”

Instead of answering, Zeldir just revealed a smile.

I narrowed my eyes to look at it, but it didn’t seem like it was about to say anything.

This was something that I had already encountered, so I knew that there was no point in trying to get Zeldir to speak.

Instead, it was better to confront someone else about this.

After all, there was another messenger of the gods that was also here.

Since there was another one, then it would be easier to get some clues from their conversation.

“Do you want to come in?” I asked all of a sudden.

Zeldir seemed like it was caught off guard by this question, but then it gave a nod and waved for the other lizards to move back.

When they did, the other lizards turned back into the same dark figures as before.

With the way that they stood there, it seemed like they were planning on keeping watch while Zeldir went inside.

I was going to lead the way in until I saw how slow Zeldir was moving.

“Can you become bigger or do you want some help?”

Zeldir looked at me in silence for a bit, but eventually it reached its hands out as if it wanted me to pick it up. The way that Zeldir did this was as if it wouldn’t have done this if it was anyone else.

I shook my head with a faint smile before picking up Zeldir and moving to the inn.

When we came in, the others that had been watching everything that happened outside couldn’t help taking a step back.

What they were looking at wasn’t me, but rather Zeldir who I was holding in my hands.

None of them dared to look at Zeldir directly, but it was clear that they were wary of it.

Though when it came to Zeldir, it didn’t seem like it cared about the way that others looked at it.

The only thing that Zeldir seemed to care about was something that it sensed coming from up the stairs.

I didn’t even need to guess to know what it was that Zeldir was sensing.

After all, there was only one thing that it should have sensed that would make it react like this.

As for the other thing…I really hoped that Zeldir would ignore it.

Since none of them said anything, I continued walking through them and headed up the stairs to my room. Even though they looked at me as if they were asking for some kind of explanation, I just ignored all of them as I headed up the stairs.

Naturally none of them dared to say anything to me since they saw that I was with Zeldir.

Before we even reached the room, there was a voice that came from behind the door.

“It’s the smell of a disgusting lizard.”

“It’s the smell of a disgusting wolf.” Zeldir said in response to this.

I couldn’t help revealing a faint smile when I heard this, but I opened the door to find that the Fenrir was standing there.

I didn’t say anything as I brought Zeldir in before dropping Zeldir in front of the Fenrir.

Once they were like this, Zeldir said, “It seems like you really are acting like a dog, following whoever appears in front of you.”

“It seems like you really are acting like a lizard, hiding in a forest like this.”

The two of them clearly had some kind of history between them with the way that they acted, but I didn’t get involved since I wanted to see if I could get any information from them.

But in the end, the only thing that I was able to learn was how bad the relationship between them was and how they had a long history between them.

Other than this, it didn’t seem like they were going to reveal anything that I wanted.

They had the restraint to keep the things that they should keep hidden a secret.

In that case, I went over to where Dorothy was.

I had already been moving over to where Dorothy was, but I hadn’t moved quickly since I wanted to avoid attracting attention to her. After all, there was no telling what Zeldir would have done to her if I brought its attention to her.

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing that I want with her.” When Zeldir said this, I couldn’t help being caught off guard.

However, since it said this…

“Why are you here then?” I slowly asked.

Zeldir looked at me and said, “My god has a message to pass down to you, that’s why I’ve come all this way to deliver it.”

After saying this, there was this dark divine energy that appeared around it.

Zeldir had said that it served the God of Night, Nox.

This was a different god from the God of Darkness that was one of the main religions that was worshipped in the Holy Empire.

However, this God of Night still had similar powers as their divine energy was completely black in colour.

It was so dark that it even seemed like it was a part of the night itself.
