Chapter 393: Chapter 392- Farewell
“You look tired?” Raven asked gently as she returned from her room, carrying a small black box in her hand.

She knew his visit hours were about to be over , so she rushed to get the gift from her room.

Adrian nodded, his face slightly pale and body slightly swaying as if he was drunk

He felt as though he had been on a long, winding road up a mountain — dizzy, lightheaded, and weak.

He was feeling a bit tipsy as well even though it has been a while since he tasted alcohol.

“He nearly exhausted his mana reserve,” Ava explained, “then it filled again and emptied once more. Because of that, he’s feeling dizzy. Resting and eating something sour or sweet should help.”

Raven nodded, understanding right away. She might not be a Nytharos follower, but she was familiar with such common aftereffects.

She turned back to Adrian. “Do you want to rest? I can have someone prepare fruit tarts for you.”

Adrian shook his head lightly. “No need. I have only a few minutes left before the system pulls me back.” He glanced at the timer. “Seven minutes, to be precise.”

Raven sighed softly. A part of her was disappointed. She had wanted to spend more time with him, to talk, maybe even just sit quietly together — but seeing how focused he had been on learning, she couldn’t bring herself to interrupt.

“Well,” she whispered to herself, “there’s always next time.”

Then she smiled faintly and held out the box. “Here. A small gift from me.”

Adrian took it with raised brows. Inside lay a small black leaf, shaped like a maple leaf.

“This is a rare herb,” Raven said, “one that blooms only once every ten years. Unless someone is already dead, this can heal any wound, disease, or curse. Just make the patient swallow it whole — no water, no breaking.”

Adrian blinked in surprise. “No herb can heal everything.”

Raven winked. “Didn’t I tell you my gift would be priceless?”

Adrian shook his head, half smiling, but before he could say anything, Raven pressed a finger against his lips.

“Don’t refuse,” she whispered softly. “Or I’ll feel hurt. Don’t reject my feelings, Avirin.”

Adrian let out a helpless breath, his eyes warm.

Raven slowly withdrew her hand. “And if you truly feel guilty,” she added, “then when your cooldown ends… come back. Don’t think twice.”

Adrian looked toward the three magicians in the distance, still busy in their discussion. “I will,” he said with a smile. “And next time, I’ll bring something for them too. They’ve helped me a lot.”

Raven chuckled. “Don’t worry about that. They’re a lot like you.”

Adrian arched a brow. “Meaning?”

“Nerds,” she teased.

He squinted at her playfully. “How rude.”

Just then, his body began to fade, light spilling from the edges of his form.

Raven’s heart skipped a beat. She wanted to run forward, to pull him into her arms, to hold onto him even for a second longer — but she stopped herself.

She didn’t want to force him… not yet. Not until he remembered everything.

So she only held his hand gently and said, “Next time, let me show you proper hospitality.”

Adrian smiled, warmth flickering in his eyes. “I’ll be waiting.”

And then, he was gone.

Raven stood still for a long moment, her hand lingering in the air where his had been. Then, with a quiet sigh, she lowered it.

‘How I wish I could just keep you here, all to myself…chain you to the bed and never let you go,’ she thought, hugging her slender frame. A faint, dangerous gleam flickered in her eyes as she whispered, *’Oh, Adrian… I don’t know how long I can keep my restraint now that we’ve met again.’

….

Adrian was back in his room.

And he wasn’t alone.

“Aria…you’re back,” he said softly, a small smile on his lips.

“Adrian?” The silver-haired girl asked, concern flickering in her eyes. “Why do you look… drunk?”

“Do I?” he chuckled lightly. “Well… I went through some intense training, and now I feel… ah—”

He swayed, losing his balance, and before his head could hit the floor, someone caught him.

Ariana had wrapped an arm around his waist, steadying him. “What kind of training?” she asked, leaning closer, sniffing his shirt. There was no trace of alcohol, though a faint scent of perfume lingered.

“As I said…all because of training,” Adrian replied. Then, blinking in sudden realization, he added, “Have you ever noticed?”

“Hmm? Noticed what?”

Adrian gently cupped her cheek. “Your eyes… they’re really charming.”

Ariana blinked. He might be a little drunk, but somehow, it wasn’t unpleasant.

She guided him to the bed and laid him down carefully.

She was about to rise and fetch some water when Adrian murmured, his voice low and husky, “I feel hot… take off my clothes, please.”

A shiver ran down her spine as she looked up at him. His eyes were pleading, his cheeks tinged with a soft flush, and a faint wisp of breath escaped his slightly parted lips.

Biting her own lip, Ariana muttered, “Okay… fine.” Adrian smiled and slowly sat up, his back against the headboard.

She reached for his shirt, her fingers trembling slightly as she began undoing the buttons, one by one, moving slowly and carefully.

Ariana’s fingers lingered on the last button before she slowly pulled the fabric apart. As the shirt fell from his shoulders, Adrian’s chiseled chest was revealed, each line and curve defined by the hours of relentless training.

Her breath caught, heat pooling in her chest as her eyes roamed over his toned abs, the smooth skin glowing faintly in the dim light.

Her hand trembled slightly as she brushed a stray lock of hair from his forehead, trying to focus, but the sight of him had stolen her thoughts.

The air between them thickened, almost heavy with unspoken tension, their proximity charged with something neither dared to name.

Adrian’s gaze met hers, dark and smoldering, and she felt a shiver run down her spine, the warmth in her body responding to the intensity of his stare.

She inhaled sharply, the small space around them seeming to shrink, every sound—the soft rustle of fabric, their breathing—magnified in the charged silence.

Then, Adrian held her hand and pulled her to his lap.

Ariana didn’t have the energy nor intention to resist.

She found herself sitting on his lap, their faces inches apart as she heard him saying, “Just to be sure, I am not forcing my desires on you, right?”

Ariana growled, “Stop being so polite and kiss me.”
